  1. Surprising exactly no one…

It’s also one of the reasons that we moved from paper bags to plastic bags in the first place (and from glass to plastic bottles)

There are 39 manufacturers of plastic bags in Ontario, I wonder how many of them will cut jobs, and have to write off hundreds of thousands of dollars of equipment that can’t be used any more because third world countries cannot control their waste and Justin has to signal his virtue

  2. Is there ONE proven instance in Canada where plastic bags, straws or anything else caused harm beyond “shit happens”? This, like Covid, AGW and so many other Liberal casus tyrani is being imposed “because they can” and for no other reason.

    1. Micro plastics!!!!! They’ve been found EVERYWHERE … and in every living organism!!! Ohhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaa … we’re all DYING!!! We’re killing the planet.

Micro. Meaning … you can’t see them. Just like you can’t see “the giant swirling plastic patch, the size of Texas, in the Pacific Ocean” … because it’s all … micro … plastics. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid. And the less science you understand … will make you even MORE afraid.

  3. “almost all driven by paper substitutes.”

When a former NDiPper premier of Ontariowe, who then became a Lieberal, was also on the board of directors of a Q Bec based paper company, what did you think would happen?…….

  4. Another column rearranging the deck chairs – by firm Global warming believer Lorrie Goldstein.
Hey Lorrie – this is the bread and circuses part while the nation is being taken over by communists.

  5. One must remember a few things:

Canada must be seen to do things and not actually do them.

Justin can walk away right now and live off of mummy’s money. Raise your hands if one can do that here.

Whether this single-use plastics ban has any real good effect is irrelevant.

  6. This is an absolute masterpiece of bureaucratic bullsh!t. “that will break or tear if the bag is used to carry 10 kg over a distance of 53 m 100 times,”. I’m sure taxpayers paid millions to have this arcane point measured. Also note that businesses can buy and sell plastic straws all they want, they just can’t buy them in Canada. Pulp prices should go up, anyway.
