In July 2020, police announced the results of an investigation of an alleged gaming and bawdy house operation reportedly being run out of a luxurious mansion at 5 Decourcy Crt. in Markham.
Part of the haul police showed the media was 11 guns, including an AR-15, more than $11 million in cash and alcohol.
Those arrested included Wei Wei, who was charged with keeping a gaming house, unsafe firearm storage and possession of a stolen firearm, as well as his wife, Xiang Yue Chen, and his daughter, Chen Wei, who were both charged with keeping a gaming house and possession of proceeds of crime.
Photographs of Wei Wei meeting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at a Liberal fundraiser later surfaced in the media.
The charges were dropped on May 13, 2021 and Wei Wei signed a peace bond, meaning he promised to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
His wife and daughter’s charges were stayed in April 2021.
Then almost every other person charged as part of the investigation, which saw 28 people charged with keeping a common gaming house or being found in one, had their charges withdrawn.
Taxpayers will be on the hook for the timepieces. What a country we live in.

So, were charges dropped because there are “allegations” of two sticky-fingered police officers lifting evidence who heisted a couple of expensive watches and therefore police have been blackmailed?

Maybe you have it backward. Maybe the cops stole the timepieces knowing that charges would never be laid against them. Like taking some drugs off the drug dealer. What’s he going to do? “He stole some of my drugs, that I don’t have”. In a normal world both crimes (gaming and theft) would be investigated independently. Having $11 million in cash at your house seems a little excessive unless your house is “the house”. And lifting a couple of watches from a gambling operation seems like “a safe bet”. But what if the cops didn’t even take the watches? What if they disappeared after the cops left? How would the cops know? You can commit a crime and then commit a crime to cover up the previous crime. Idiots don’t own mansions.

Rather than whining, people should be saying that all charges of this sort are in fact illegitimate, but that would require that Canadians abandon their insane Karen safety fetish, and their equally insane desire to see others punished.
My thoughts are along the lines of….House is CCP infiltration to get blackmail info on any participants at the gambling/bawdy house. Further, as has already been stated by others, I’m sure the CCP advised their also compromised Canuck PM, to ensure the charges dissipate into the ether. As to the watches, maybe stolen by naughty cops or used as bribes, or deliberately disappeared to provide cover and blowback on the original charges. What I do know, is that the correct lieberal connections are better insurance than a corrupt police/court system where equality under the law has also disappeared!

I’m shocked that the various police forces involved even went along with staging the raid. That’s some very expensive and dangerous theatre. Next time they’ll just rub out the neighbours reporting the suspicious activity.
