You’ll Own Nothing, Go Nowhere And Be Happy

The problem here isn’t “small town mayor”, it’s big time elite entitlement: Buttigieg refused meetings with Democrats and Republicans during paternity leave

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is facing tough questions about how he handles crises facing his department. The latest crisis, the grounding of every plane in America for the first since 9/11/01, shines a light on what exactly it is that Buttigieg does on the job. […]

Now, as questions about his performance in office are asked, Pete rather defensively declares that everyone knows that in a job such as his, he must be available 24/7. You’d think everyone would know that. But does Pete? It turns out that it looks like Pete was turning down requests for calls and zoom meetings with both Democrat and Republican lawmakers while he was home with his new little family. He was, in fact, not available 24/7. On Thursday, government watchdog Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) released information showing that inconvenient truth.

Not only was Pete not available when his assistance was needed, he failed to issue a formal delegation of authority, causing some chaos as important decisions still needed to be made during his leave. Hmm. So, who was in charge when Pete was out of the office? That seems like an important question.

I detect a pattern:

Transport Minister Omar Alghabra defended his choice not to personally contact airlines and airports while they grappled with holiday travel upheaval that left thousands of Canadians stranded and airports a maze of unclaimed luggage and frustrated travellers. […]

Committee member Conservative MP Mark Strahl pointed to testimony earlier in the day from airport officials, who said they never heard from Alghabra, and from executives of Sunwing Airlines, who said they didn’t talk to Alghabra until Jan. 5, “more than two weeks after the catastrophic failure of that airline, and people sleeping in hotel lobbies in a foreign country.”

Strahl accused the minister of waiting until the crisis had passed before he “even did the basic thing to pick up the phone.”

It’s not incompetence and it’s not indifference — it’s population retraining. The Trudeau government is delivering electric shocks to the rats so they’ll learn not to want the nice things.

  1. The issue at yvr is they have deicing pits instead of doing deicing at the gate. There’s limited deicing pit spots so there’s a huge lineup waiting for it. It’s been that way all my life. Whenever there’s snow in Vancouver there’s huge delays. Meanwhile in Seattle operations run fairly smoothly. I heard the CEO of yvr say they’re going to focus on communication and won’t actually try and fix the problem as usual.

    1. I bet if you look closely, you’d find that the deicing pits have a separate drainage system due to government regulations, because they don’t want deicing fluid to be mix in with the sewage system

        1. Toronto Pearson does not do deicing at the gate, at least not in the early 2000s when I travelled 30 weeks a year. They had a couple of deicing machines and lineups were not uncommon. However, the longest delay I experienced because of this was about 30 minutes.

        2. The Greenies would faint if they knew how all the heat exchangers on all they skyscrapers get cleaned. Lots of nice sodium hydroxide washing into the sewer.

    1. Thanks for the input, Hindenburg.
Buttaplug is not a man and the Keebler Orc in Canada isn’t either.

    2. “Government is not a one-man operation.”

No. But it is stunning to see how many mediocre, incompetent, if not outright idiotic, assholes congregate there.

There’s an old saw from George Bernard Shaw about teachers: “Those who can do, those who can’t teach.” I would add a codicil to that: Those who are too stupid for the real world are always welcome in the public service.

      1. I really wonder if that Pete guy could solve any problem. Probably better if he stays away.

  2. Imagine what happens when one’s ONLY real accomplishment in life, is that you take mens pennnissses up your anus … and you’ve parlayed that proclivity into a top college admission … a mayorship … and now a Federal Cabinet Dept. head? Did I say “head”? Yeah … he gives that too. Has he actually done any of those jobs well? Puhleeeze … you’re a “homophobe” for even asking the question.

    1. Buttgag also likes trains, so there’s that. He’s surely qualified for Transportation Secretary; look at POTUS and VP. He’s alive, anyway. Crème of the leftrash crop.

      mhb23re

      1. … and he hates “racist” freeways. The freeways that allow me to NOT drive through the ghetto. He says that like it’s a bad thing. I took the WRONG offramp in Memphis once and ended up driving through … the projects. I have NO IDEA to this day how I got out of there alive … with my car and family.

  3. ((It’s not incompetence and it’s not indifference — it’s population retraining.))

It is, indeed. You’ll note that following the logistics nightmare, the press pushed the cause of “congestion.” That position is tied to the “Green New Deal” and how airline travel is on the chopping block. The true cause is reflective of poor staffing to cut costs. Tied to that is the necessity of airlines to only push up planes at full capacity. In other words, the most financially productive routes. The situation was created by the current administration(s) by increasing costs on fuel, supply, and parts. That, tied into the staffing issues put the airlines in a very provocative situation that required and resulted in the logistics problems. It was, indeed, orchestrated, and as pointed out, a conditioning exercise.

How to correct it. Well, domestic drilling and fracking would lower a significant cost of airlines (Fuel) and that is directly tied into the costs that shipping companies have bringing parts to airlines (which require an astronomical number of parts and supplies). The staffing issues are directly and indirectly tied to the “pandemic” mandates. Airlines cut staffing when customers were lowering and it will take them a while to bring them back (they won’t do so until other costs lower).

  4. Meh. I have little doubt that Buttigieg getting passionately involved would have only worsened matters. There is only one policy that can bring the good times to transportation and it’s the same as elsewhere: free markets. ex ending the restrictions on foreign investment into American airlines (Canada is actually a bit better on this).

” it’s population retraining. The Trudeau government is delivering electric shocks to the rats so they’ll learn not to want the nice things.”

You need to see shrink. You are developing honest-to-god psychosis or already have it.

    1. Umee.
“You need to see shrink. You are developing honest-to-god psychosis or already have it.”

Can you stop with the projection?
      Enough already.
Licking yer wet lab has not made you any smarter.
Maybe you need another 3 shots of the Government Goo?
As 3 wrongs might perform a right..on you.

      1. No, I am not projecting. I am not the one wrapping myself in tinfoil to ward of ‘government retraining’. I am the one getting life-affirming vaccines and staying grounded in reality.

        1. Lol. If it takes a vaccine to affirm that you’re alive, you really need to be put in the ground.

        2. Undork

          Life affirming VAXXINES…?
LMAO at your utter blinking idiocy.
Fk me gently, you sonny are beyond the pale, yer empty cranium rammed so far up your pie hole you can see MARS with it.

Completely blind to world around you, your space consists of a 1m bubble…blind, beyond dumb, never used a tool in yer miserable life, yet with ample arrogance to go around.

          GOOF PERSONIFIED.

        3. But this vaccine is so useless that to be vaccinated is entirely the same as not.

Don’t you think “life affirming” is a bit too grandiose a term?

    2. Honestly UnMe… In actuality, Kate nailed the bulls-eye. All this is not a bug (woke-progressive incompetence). It’s a feature! They don’t want us to travel! Plain and simple. (ahem… Here I go again…) It’s part of the plan.

(how long have I been saying this now? I’ve lost track.)

OTOH, from the CPO’s perspective (College of Psychiatrists of Ontario), who seems to think that anyone who won’t tout the government line, maybe you’re right. /sarc

My gut-felt reaction to all of this was travel chaos nightmare was “I’m glad I don’t travel, and have to put up with this ****…” which is exactly what the government wants me to think, and wants all of us to think the same way.

We should be reacting exactly the opposite, and vote these scumbags out of office, but who am I kidding. If support from Quebec and Ontario isn’t enough, our elections are probably going to be rigged, just like everywhere else, and the current government will be in power forever, ruining all of our lives in the process.

      1. She affirmed your psychosis with your own. The right will only start winning again once you people are gone.

        1. “… once you people are gone.”

Your self revelation is quite sad … that someone is dead-enough inside to believe such a thing.

          1. Cohort replacement is real and inevitable, not that I expect you to understand how things like ‘age’ and ‘numbers’ work.

          2. Funny thing … your cohorts age too … and gradually, inevitably, become more conservative as they age. But you pretend not to know about self-replicating systems.

          3. “and gradually, inevitably, become more conservative as they age”

That’s not what the data show. Millenials aren’t turning against gay marriage or immigration. They aren’t turning to the GOP.

          4. But they ARE completely AGAINST the Transgender nonsense, and totally AGAINST Queer activism. And thoroughly AGAINST shoving LGBTQqAI2s+/- into everyone’s face and business everywhere … like hiring incompetents such as Buttigagg

          5. “and gradually, inevitably, become more conservative as they age”

That’s not what the data show. Millenials aren’t turning against gay marriage or immigration. They aren’t turning to the GOP.

Why is gay marriage a value to you? How is it a step forward?

        2. One day, you too will be gone. Just like everyone else now living. And the young people will tell your bitter old hide that you are obsolete.

      2. I’m of the same mindset, and that I should be doing the opposite and oppose their corralling, but I’m going to wait until the airline bankruptcies start at least. Plus there’s still the specter of a Boeing branded lawn dart happening again and I want no part of that obviously.

      3. Don’t try reason with the troll, it’s not here to discuss matters logically, it’s only here to project it’s Liberalism, also known as a mental disorder.
It’s like arguing with a drunk, but a drunk is more intelligent than the troll

    3. And you have it from seeing the shrink.

Do tell wrt “free markets”. Where do we see them and how is canada a bit better with foreign investments. Do you mean china? That’s not better.

There are numerous examples of social engineering, unless you refuse to see them. Maybe you do. There are clear signs.

      1. “how is canada a bit better with foreign investments. Do you mean china? That’s not better.”

Yes it is. Money comes in and is freely accepted for investment in a free market economy. Really doesn’t matter so much where the money comes from.

          1. Very little money is raised by slave labor, and blocking foreign investment isn’t going to make it go away.

  5. “Not only was Pete not available when his assistance was needed, he failed to issue a formal delegation of authority, causing some chaos as important decisions still needed to be made during his leave. Hmm. So, who was in charge when Pete was out of the office? That seems like an important question.”

This was the most critical point. Nothing hamstrings a department more than a gaping hole where the boss is supposed to be.

    1. “a gaping hole where the boss is supposed to be”

I like it! Let me stroll over to the piano and we can sing along. In the best of taste, of course.

    2. Well isn’t that exactly what he is? Like lots of Mothers, they have to have that GappingHole sown up. So I guess he was in recovery!

  6. Or just maybe canaduh and the us are now turd-world countries competing with the worst african nations to see who can be most incompetent.
The respective transport czars have been appointed because they fill a minority hire purpose, in the us-the gays, canaduh-a free palestine freak. Competence never enters into the appointment.
Meanwhile you will never catch either of these “important” people using the public transportation system over which they preside, they are at least smart enough to avoid that.

    1. Free Tammy

“…The respective transport czars have been appointed because they fill a minority hire purpose,…”

      NAILED IT….HARD.

  7. I can’t fault Mayor Pete for taking an extended leave of absence, it’s a special time in a young man’s life when he gives birth and even moreso when he gives birth to twins. Or did his husband give birth to one or both of the babies? I’m not a biologist so I’m not sure how that works. I’m pretty sure both babies are going to wind up transgender, though.

  8. it’s population retraining. The Trudeau government is delivering electric shocks to the rats so they’ll learn not to want the nice things.

Couldn’t agree more. Cernovich recently opined that there’s something about the Christian/Judeo zeitgeist that prevents most of us from accepting the fact that politicians and their media bootlickers are straight up evil pricks. We’re always with the “Naaa…they would never do that” line of thinking when in fact yes, yes they would and they do it well.
    We have to wise up.

  9. Rest assured.. Tax collection and private security is running like a Swiss watch.. The lockdowners still have their tiny little hands on the switch.. Flicking the lights on and off, just because they can..

Modern society was? a chaotic system that just seemed to work.. Thanks Dad.. You cant just shut it all off and expect to rebuild it all to your liking without major systems failing..

Did you take a picture of it before you shut it off?.. Besides that is it WOKE policies or disgruntled workers?.. If you pay somebody enough will they magically be able to do their job?.. Or do you fire your custom built house of cards and start again fresh?..

    Shameful..

But seeing as rich people tend to travel and vote lib-left.. I think its good that they suffer the direct consequences of their actions..
    Bring it..

    1. Rich people can also afford to charter their own jets or even own them, witness Davos.
So for them , this little chaos is a nothing burger.

  10. As someone said “Buttigieg is so bad that people actually know who the secretary of transportation is.”

  11. Canada has two socialists for every one conservative.. On the suffering scale that means they suffer 100% more than I do.. In a democracy that means its up to them to bring about changes necessary to bring normalcy back to our lives..

No better way to do that than support every dumb idea they have until they have no choice but to become me.. Yes, I’m willing to become a idiot to save our great nation..

    1. Problem is when suffering becomes the new normal. Last time I flew I had to take my shoes and belt off…yesterday’s unchallenged idiocies or overreactions are today’s new normal. There’s a thousand examples.
A socialist would die a thousand deaths before admitting they’re wrong. If everyone is suffering…they’re happier than pigs in mud.

  12. If you sent a bill to very NDP, Lib and Green voter for their share of the cost of their policies, most of them would get unsocialized and about 2 minutes.

The whole key to “socialism” is to keep the pleebs from knowing or understanding anything about debt and deficit.
Ill bet 90% of Canadians cannot tell you the difference between the two – or what their families share of the national debt is.

The sovietization of our nation has been on an exponential trajectory for the last 5 decades, and the curve is now headed verticle.

  13. The more they stay away, the better things will be.

They have shown their yellow stripe they believe is a spine.

That either one of these imbeciles have authority over moving objects is an abuse of authority and an abdication of responsibility.

    Ours.

  14. One of the underlying causes of the transportation problems that no one is talking about is why was Sun Wing requesting to hire 63 foreign pilots. A functioning company has enough staff to operate the equipment it has to produce a return on investment. So what happened to Sun Wing that they suddenly, overnight so to speak, needed 63 more pilots? Could it be that for some strange reason Sun Wing had to retire that many pilots, or did that many pilots call in sick, or perhaps their pilots failed to pass the medical exams? People you should start looking deeper into what is transpiring around you. Massive flight cancellations in America were all blamed on the weather, shortage of ATCs, shortage of cabin personell, or other causes take your pick. Meanwhile when the injections were introduced a doctor in the US Air Force notified the DoD that she could not medically certify flight crew in her unit as being fit for duty because of the adverse effects she was observing. Since that warning we have been made aware that she was right, from countless deaths and collapses witnessed day and daily in sports arenas and news and weather studios around the world we are seeing the fruition of her warnings. If a pilot is at risk of collapse after taking an injection what does that say about transport and bus drivers around the world that have been forced into taking the injection. Now TPTB are calling for an investigation, well they’re a pound shy and a dollar short cause that horse has left the barn and there is no way in hell-0, that they’ll ever get it back in the barn.

This is not about government incompetence from any singular person or group this is planned malfeasance on a global scale.

    1. Antenna

      1000% Bang on.
Planned and totally on purpose…as I’ve said Numerous times and will do so again:

They & Davos desire the utter destruction of Western Hemisphere Civilization. It represents all that THEY wish to have to enjoy the fruits & riches thereof…whilst utilizing the remainder of the planets population as ISLAMIZED SLAVES…to do their bidding.

Look around you…it should be plain as freaking day, that the above is what they aspire to and fully desire.

All the shit that’s happened just in the past 2 years should be ample proof.

    2. Same answer to why the BC government has staff shortages in the health care system and why foreign nurses will now be fast tracked 8nto employment.

There’s 300 nurses on the sidelines in BC and 3,000 total FORMER health care workers that will tell that story, as to why.

QUACKZINES. Attempted Coercion, Medical autonomy MY BODY MY CHOICE cost them their jobs from an ideologically rigid socialist government. Chaos is the result.

      1. People who refuse to be vaccinated are morally, intellectually, and immunologically unfit for, well, most anything besides dying. Most relevantly they are unfit for hospital work. This is what we have mass immigration for: enhanced options.

        1. I still remember that tantrum you threw about Disney’s latest woke flick failing at the box office, screaming that we will all be replaced. That was funny.

  15. The new normal in air travel (based on multiple Canada domestic and overseas flights over Christmas)
    1) delays – it’s a surprise when your flight leaves within an hour of “departure” time.
    2) security in Montreal, Halifax and Heathrow(!) much better (gotta tell the truth as I lived it), leaving you more time for shopping while waiting for delayed flights.
    3) 50% inflation on air fares in the past year.
    4) packed flights – except for one out of 8 flights, every seat was filled; could possibly (?) be related to point 3 perhaps as airlines cut capacity after figuring out that more bums in fewer seats at much higher prices equals more profit (20% fewer flights or seats vs 50% higher fares, less something for their own inflated costs … can I blame them after I flew transatlantic on a jumbo in Jan 2021 and there were more cabin crew than passengers).
    5) it’s a carry-on world – do you want your bag to arrive with you? to the new typical gate announcement offering to check-in carry-on for FREE! the new typical reaction of passengers is “are you kidding? no thanks”.
    6) round the world routings and triple travel time – now it’s 1-3 more airports and changes for what used to be a direct non-stop flight e.g. WestJet seriously suggests Scotland to Halifax, which formerly had a tourist season 5 hr direct Glasgow-Halifax service, via Calgary (8hrs flying to Calgary plus 5 hrs back to Halifax, plus transfer time)

I bet the drama teacher in the sky counts as offsets to his own “emissions” all those trips by deplorables that he has eliminated (see CATSA security screening weekly airport stats since 2019 at https://www.catsa-acsta.gc.ca/en/screened-passenger-data)

  16. “He blamed the issues on massive winter storms across the country, which “included the virtual shutdown of Vancouver’s airport, and caused major delays in Ontario and Quebec,” airport infrastructure issues, and the denial of an application to bring in 63 foreign pilots, who would have been based in Regina and Saskatoon.”
    ———————————————————————————————————————————–
L – “denial” clearly, that was a deliberate gov’t. decision. On the other hand if Sunwing had
flown/driven the pilots to just across from Roxham Road and had them walk across…

The de-industrialization of the Canadian economy coincides with a gradual elimination of
the Middle-class, those with any disposable income, and thus the ability to chose how
    their income will be spent.

Notably, the entire democratic process: Parliamentary overseeing how taxes are spent, the assent of the governed; it all depends on there being a middle-class. This because the
poor are, by definition, dependent on gov’t. assistance to some degree,
and the truly rich are able to buy any influence of gov’t. policy, they want.

When the U.S. border crossing no longer requires double vaxx to cross. The Cdn middle
class: trades/techs, professionals and small/medium businesses, will be able to relocate
south of the 49th and avoid joining the Cuba/Venezuela “Club Med”. The U.S. will
solve it’s skill set shortages with economic refugees from Canada and the former E.U. countries. Pretty slick, eh?

    1. It is pure luck that there was blinding snow, otherwise Keebler Orc (not my term) would have nowhere to turn.

…and no, it’s not Pete as such, he’s been put into office as an equity token and a fall guy by the conspirators who are screwing us. Much the same as the (apparent) ferret ¿Algebra? who keeps his spouce under a rock.

  19. One way to ensure compliance is to have the least qualified and less likely to be held to account person in charge.

    And here we are.

  20. Kate nailed it. To the Unbalanced of the world, their only counter to the truth is claims of “ conspiracy theory “. Or, in this case, the defamation is in the form of a claim that the speaker is mentally unfit to participate in political speech.

The Unme’s of the world are today’s Nazis, itching to gain the last bit of power they require to implement the final solution on those they defame.

    1. Our counter is to point out the obvious fact that you have no evidence just paranoid schizophrenia.

      1. Twitter Files – mass suppression of civil rights by the Left, from Vijaya Gadde, to Congressional Democrats to the current Democrat Administration. See any pattern yet?
