  1. Will Taibbi be able to show that the FBI demonstrably coerced Twitter? I hope so.

He can clearly demonstrate Mafia talk: “A nice social media organization you have here. Too bad if something would happen to it!”

Can’t wait until January when Republicans get subpoena powers.

    1. Will it matter? The republicans can demand people testify in congress. Unfortunately the department of justice enforces those powers if they are defied.

Does anyone believe that Merrick Garland and the Biden justice department will do anything besides acting to protect the Democrat party and its members?

      1. John, whether or not folks get prosecuted is in a sense a secondary consideration. If the Republicans manage to dig up the corruption in a way that is credible, the next Presidential election might become a wipeout.

Of course, that assumes that the people will get to know. A big IF with the corrupt press involved.

But looking better every day with Elon Musk owning Twitter…

    2. Notice that NONE of the inbound emails are shown. DHS Runs Twitter. They hijacked Jacks Magic Coffee Shop. The place was full of CIA FBI Scumbags. Musk is either a CIA Spook, or planted to “release” some tweets and info that does NOT implicate the DHS providing the Server capacity it would take to run Twitter.

It is not debatable; twitter cannot be a profitable enterprise with Simultaneous users.
Go to Conservative Treehouse and search “Jacks Magic Coffee Shop”.

We are being played. Just like the CIA did on the JFK files. Your Country is Fake.

    3. “Will Taibbi be able to show that the FBI demonstrably coerced Twitter? ”

Just as likely that the Twittertwats tripped over each other in their race to be “helpfull “. Like Canada’s banks during the Freedom Protests.

  2. “But a surprisingly high number are requests by the FBI for Twitter to take action on election misinformation, even involving joke tweets from low-follower accounts.”

There are legitimate reasons for Twitter and the FBI to communicate, such as when a tweet appears to be illegal, or the FBI is seeking information in the course of a criminal investigation.

But the above quote isn’t it. In fact, it’s arguably a violation of the 1st amendment.

    1. If the FBI went after accounts involving:
      – kiddy porn
      – Antifa advocating violence
then I’d think about giving the FBI the benefit of the doubt.

    2. The judicial precedent is that a 1st amendment violation occurs when either:

      – the government uses coercion in the report
      – the government is an active participant in the censoring decision

Merely pointing out that a tweet or account violates Twitter TOS does not count. Doesn’t matter if they have special channels or not.

      1. You are consistent.

Ethical conduct is irrelevant. Rely on technicalities to condone sleaze.

  3. “such as when a tweet appears to be illegal”
That ain’t it. Apparently some people have no clue to what actually happened in 2017.

  4. The Patriot Act must be ended. Now. It’s been weaponized against our own people. People who don’t much like an u elected Deep State running our country

    1. Correct. And similarly, the Emergencies Act in Canada which we have now seen can be invoked at the pleasure of a fascist PM.

  5. Legacy media doxxed Musk, putting him and his children in danger, and then play the victim when they are thrown off Twitter by Musk.

It’s time for legal consequences for these thugs.
