  1. L – “The boisterous sea of Liberty” (A Mari Usque Ad Mare), that should describe the
free people of Canada, too. It should… It could… Make It So!

        1. VOWG – I see what you did there. Subtle humour with a bit of a bite to it. You really got to the heart of the matter.

  2. Filter seems to be eating my links so you will have to search youtube for it, but…

Just for fun youtube has the cheesy 1978 movie Corvette Summer with Mark Hamill and Annie Potts. A lot of cool cars in the background.

    1. It is because most teachers are stupid and no longer teach students anything of value. I paid attention in Grade 6 (1964) when I was taught that the big yellow ball in the sky was responsible for our weather systems. And yes, we were taught about jet streams and the way the jet stream moves through-out Earth’s orbit. For the northern hemisphere, winter occurs when the Earth’s orbit is the farthest from the sun. After December 21, Earth slowly starts returning to being close to the sun.
The southern hemisphere always has better weather than the northern hemisphere because of the Earth’s axis tilt. Even though Earth is the farthest from the sun at this time of the year, because of the axis tilt, the southern hemisphere still enjoys exceptional weather.
My sister and I are banking on this because we are taking a southern cruise in January.

      1. That’s not quite right. The earth is closest to the sun in January. It’s the tilt of the axis of rotation relative to the plane of revolution which gives us our seasons.

  3. Latest Hunter Biden Problem Puts White House in Tight Spot

That’s one way to look at it.

“President Joe Biden’s administration is set to release hundreds of emails dating back to his time as vice president regarding his son, Hunter Biden, and millions of dollars the younger Biden earned from a Ukrainian energy firm while his father was vice president.”

I guess we know where Newsweek stands on the issue:

“Hunter Biden’s ties to the country—as well as the contents of a laptop acquired by journalists at the New York Post in late 2020—have inspired widespread speculation in the conservative press that the younger Biden exploited his political connections to enrich himself.”

    1. “widespread speculation in the conservative press that the younger Biden exploited his political connections to enrich himself.”

      Say it ain’t so, Joe.

    1. Hilarious. After New Years, the US economy is going to throw up all over itself.
Personal savings accounts have declined by 80%.
Credit card debt is at record levels. The interest rate on the average credit card account is 19%.
Emergency withdrawals from retirement accounts are at record levels.
The net value of the average American household has declined by $55,000.
It will be a crash like we haven’t seen since 2008.

  4. Joe to Hunter:
“In between smokin’ crack and banging’ hoes, you’ll have to have a few meetings. You get the hotel laundry to clean and press your shirt and tie and suit, and bring ’em back up to your room, and then you run out and shake a few hands. Just use my name, and the money will flow like grass through a goose.”

    1. I wonder what effect the special tax will have on bank dividends?

I have a nice bit of retirement income from bank stocks.

Anyone know how much Canada Pension Plan income comes from bank stocks? And big pension plans like Ontario Teachers? Or the Quebec Pension Plan?

    2. Same B S and bafflegab. They know diddly squat about economics and how to run a business and they sure as hell know nothing about running a country. And yes I could fix things in a couple of years but ya don’t get to debate you just do.

  5. Stories you won’t find on the CBC – a Canadian, Khalilullah Yousuf of Ontario, was one of four arrested on Dec. 14th for conspiring to provide material support to ISIS:

“A criminal complaint was unsealed yesterday in federal court in Brooklyn charging Mohammad David Hashimi, 35, of Potomac Falls, Virginia; Abdullah At Taqi, 23, of East Elmhurst, Queens, New York; A criminal complaint was unsealed yesterday in federal court in Brooklyn charging Mohammad David Hashimi, 35, of Potomac Falls, Virginia; Abdullah At Taqi, 23, of East Elmhurst, Queens, New York; Khalilullah Yousuf, 34, of Ontario, Canada; and Seema Rahman, 25, of Edison, New Jersey, with conspiring to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).”

    1. Fine. Then the parents and/or public should surround its vehicle in the mornings & after school and take photos. It’s public property. Obviously it’s sensitive about it. Shame the hell out of it. A little public humiliation is good for the soul.

  6. Go green and burn to death. The highly regarded, leftist-leaning organization Consumer Reports has given voice to what SDAers have known for a long time:

“Fire! Fire! Fire!’ The Perplexing, Deadly Electric Bike Problem.

  7. I’ve always been unsatisfied w/ the narrative surrounding JFK’s murder. My biggest issue has been the type of firearm used & the time needed to load another shell, reacquire the target, aim, fire, etc., etc., etc. Never made sense.

That said, apparently a bunch more documents on the topic have been released. And then there’s this:

    1. Harold Norman, a fellow employee of the book depository where Oswald worked, was watching the motorcade from the window directly below Oswald. Not only did he hear 3 shots fired from the floor above, he heard 3 shell casings hit the floor.
      Here is his testimony:

  9. It is time to double the carbon tax in Canada. It is clearly not high enough yet to reduce the global demand for coal.

“Global coal use is set to rise by 1.2% in 2022, surpassing 8 billion tonnes in a single year for the first time and eclipsing the previous record set in 2013, according to Coal 2022, the IEA’s latest annual market report on the sector. ”
