1. This is likely to brighten the spotlight on Hunter Biden himself.
2. People will go after the people going after the people who are going after Hunter.

When you’re going to be exposed for your own conduct during investigations of what your buddy did, you pull out all the stops.
Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.
You see, if they do “go after the investigators”, there’s this legal thing called “discovery” that kicks in. The investigators will love that.

See, the Powers-That-Be don’t really care much about the individual layers so long as they keep the heat away… To the extent that Hunter, Psaki and whateverhername are keeping the heat (somewhat) away from Joe et al, they’re all doing just fine for the real Powers-That-Be…
