James Baker was the FBI's asset at Twitter and scrubbed the Twitter Files before Matt Taibbi received them
He has just been escorted from Twitter HQ
And you wondered why there were no references found to the FBI and the Hunter laptop…

Taibbi: Twitter Files Supplemental (thread)
On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here. We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay.
We can now tell you part of the reason why. On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired. Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of “Twitter Files” – without knowledge of new management.
The process for producing the “Twitter Files” involved delivery to two journalists (Bari Weiss and me) via a lawyer close to new management. However, after the initial batch, things became complicated.Over the weekend, while we both dealt with obstacles to new searches, it was @bariweiss who discovered that the person in charge of releasing the files was someone named Jim. When she called to ask “Jim’s” last name, the answer came back: “Jim Baker.”
Unbelievable.

It’ll be a few days before anyone knows (outside of Twitter insiders) if there’s a copy of what was in Twitter servers when Elon bought…. and that Baker may not have had access to.
Hope doesn’t seem like a “go to” plan though. If a copy of open source “Bleachbit” shows up, all bets are off.
Here’s the thing: in a company with the size and reach of Twitter, there are backups of backups of backups going back years in dozens if not hundreds of locations. And in a company as chaotically run as Twitter, there is no conceivable way to get to all of those backups in any sane amount of time.
The original files are there. All they need is time.
Exactly. And by searching for the correspondence “deleted” by the mendacious Jim Baker they will have all they need to know. Silly man has given Musk a stick to beat him with.
It’s almost starting to look like Twitter was the FBI’s asset.
Love him or hate him, but that’s in line with the last refuge/sundance.
I’m just curious what James Baker was paid at Twitter? $5mm/year? And WHO actually PAID his salary … since Twitter loses $500mm/year? General Motors? Apple?
Beware the government-industrial-tech complex … beware indeed.
Looks like Taibbi found his scapegoat to blame for his nothingburger. Wonder what the next one will be.
Free speech is like sunlight striking your undead body … “it burns! It burns!” … you scream as you hang in your dark cave.
Why bother even responding to UnME. He is a Russia disinformationist like the ones that that affected the outcome of the US 2020 election.
Documentary confirmation of the fact that Twitter colluded with the FBI to censure the laptop info is a nothingburger?
The fact that the FBI sat on the laptop for a year and colluded with CIA folks to claim it was “Russian disinformation” knowing that was a lie is a nothingburger?
Geez, let me know what’s real news!
Head….meet rectum.
I knew a FILTHY LIBERAL would make a stupid comment, and here you are. It literally is the biggest scandal in the history of free speech and like a true Cultural Marxist, your comment is as inspiring as your name. FILTHY LIBERAL
So the Biden laptop is Russian disinformation, unme?
“We can now tell you part of the reason why.”
Big part? Small part? Other parts?
Everything is corrupt.
We live in a Police State.
We’re not free.
THIS!
And, Inspector General Horowitz could find no bias at the FBI!
I’m shocked, shocked, that Americans are claiming to be shocked that “their” FBI is a politically biased, morally corrupt institution.
After all, it’s been known for years that its founder and director for over four decades, arguably the most powerful man of the US deep state, had created it to be a spy and surveillance outfit for the purpose of political blackmail.
Hoover lived in connubial bliss with his second in command, Clive Tolson. He protected the mob from prosecution, and had in fact learned from them the value of compromat, as Casa Nostra kept a scrap book of interesting pictures of Hoover’s extracurricular activities.
The USA’s greatest psycho, LBJ, was afraid of only one man on earth, and that was Hoover. Listening to his recorded phone calls to Hoover and all his posterior licking is cringe inducing.
“Unbelievable.”
Nope, totally expected. New moles will inevitably replace any compromised “assets” in due course.
Yes , but it was only “suggested” to subvert information. I guess it was only “suggested” you get the jab or you loose your job. Or so say the courts – the guardians of justice . You know what the difference between Canada /United States and China is? None in about 2 years if this continues. Contrary to what some very loud mouth trolls here would have you believe – when the government comes calling they aren’t “suggesting.”
Before the FBI had Twitter to mess with, they had this:
I Was A Communist For The FBI 1951 Frank Lovejoy, Dorothy Hart, Philip Carey full movie
I have to think that Musk set Baker up for this, otherwise Baker would have been the first person fired on takeover day. We shall see.
It’s a shame that Elon couldn’t have escorted Baker from the premises and then given him a free helicopter ride.
Pappy Gunn,
The question is which tech corporation is NOT an FBI (or CIA, or DHS) Asset? Even with 3/4 of the previous Twitter employees and contractors gone, there are still rats in the wainscotting, there are rats in the foundation, there are rats in the upper levels. Elon Musk has to balance cleaning out the remaining trash, and causing disruptions and distrust amongst the remaining workers that are friendly to, or at least neutral to Musk’s goals.
You all see what is happening now? Do you think Donald Trump ever stood a chance with all those government and establishment insiders lined up against him? They ran an op against General Flynn, Trump’s own NSC Chief in the very first week, and while he was in the White House itself. They came as friends and shivved him in the back without a second thought.
The ones that left voluntarily were the ideologues, in other words the useful idiots. None of the government moles quit unless their covers were blown. There are still operatives infesting that company and will continue to stymie all of Musk’s efforts to clean it up.
Just imagine the constitutional crisis the Americans would have if the full laptop story made it to public ears. Proof that the President has been on the take for his entire career as a politician and has steered government policy for his own profit to the point of collaborating with his nations enemies. How many other powerful insiders will be exposed? Same with Epstein Island. In their eyes, the public can never know just how bad that they’ve been betrayed or the entire kleptocracy will collapse.
It’s just the institutional left infesting the institutions. In Doug Casey’s words, the hand-in-glove melding of the political power of the state with the economic power (informational power in this case) of corporations, IOW, fascism.
I’m sure if there were any bias on the part of James Baker he would have investigated himself and told us all about it. Since he hasn’t reported himself for bias or conflict of interest I have to assume there is none. That’s how these things work, right?
There should be criminal charges for things like this. Absolutely unbelievable.
Yes.
Every Liberal for crimes against reality.
Every Conservative for being being absent in battle, along with a weird fetish for losing.
Musk plays chess while the rest of us struggle with checkers.
He is playing the slow reveal for maximum effect. Chances are he knew that Baker was going to stonewall the document release and just gave him the opportunity to hang himself.
If nothing shows up directly tying the Biden administration to Twitter censorship Musk is now in a position to say that Baker deleted it.
