  3. Funny thing is that the rest of the world’s Gov’ts copied China’s COVID lockdowns. Now that China’s locking people in burning buildings to save them from COVID is that coming to Canada next? Didn’t his eminence and junior leader mentor, Klaus Schwab, say 5 days ago that “China is a model for many other nations”? May God help us (and China) overcome this special kind of murder-justifying crazy. Is this what Trudeau so admires?

  4. A few thousand protesters will disappear never to be seen again and the rest of the mob will do as they are told. That is how totalitarian regimes operate and Justin Trudeau just loves them for it.

    1. This time I don’t think so JW. Hong Kong and Tiananmen Square protests were more student powered. These new protests are drawing from the main crowd. It’s about deep anger, fear and resentment. Remember the 60’s hippie slogan “Power of the People”? I think we’re gonna see exactly what that means in Shanghai. People in China don’t just walk out of hard-to-get factory jobs for nothing.

      Don’t forget its residents endured years of murderous Japanese occupation a scant 80 yrs ago. I’m sure they haven’t and the smell from what Xi’s doing there must seem vaguely familiar. The military may not actually follow through this time either. Hu Jintao wasn’t the only party official opposed to a 3rd Xi term.

        Several reports have pointed out that many of the protestors are “newly poor” who have been severely financially affected by the COVID lock downs and extreme CCP measures.

        What is interesting is that the demonstrators don’t seem to fear the CCP . Where is goes is anyone’s guess. Ditto for Brazil with huge ongoing protests over the rigged election.

    Where exactly would Joe B and JT get their marching orders from if China stops commanding them?
    If you think things are bad in the USA and Canada now, imagine in AOC ends up being the one blowing dumb ideas into Joe’s empty head.
    We could have Butts or one of the other climate loons. Maybe even Freeland would take a stab at running us into the ground herself instead of pretending it’s a Liberal/group effort.

  11. The only thing the Chinese police are missing are horses to stomp on the protestors. Sounds like a missed opportunity.
    I stand with the people of China. May they succeed in overthrowing their government where Canadians failed.

    1. Assuming that Xi does not put them hammer down or is replaced by someone perhaps a little softer but still as communist, what would the Chinese have in the vacuum?

      For their entire lives, all they’ve known is tyranny.

      And the world was happy to ignore the massacre at Tienanmen.

      I would like everything to work out but I am jaded.

      1. China is not communist, its fascist, just to a greater degree than the west is, but we’re catching up quickly.

  12. There is an addendum to this. China is requiring World Cup broadcasts NOT to show crowd shots when China plays (which is the only match-up that gets through the Chinese sensors). The reason they don’t want the crowd shown is because they aren’t wearing masks, and they are informing their “subjects” that the entire world has the same restrictions in place that China does in an effort to de-escalate protests.

    This is a bad move by the China powers. There are various ways around the “Great Firewall of China” inclusive of something as simple as a tailored VPN. I think it might be working against them and, actually, fueling the unrest.

  14. Apparently, the Chinese protestors are holding up blank white paper so as not to be accused of and punished for anti-government slogans. Perhaps we should do the same here when we meet in Ottawa on Valentine’s Day to let McBlackface know he has successfully imitated his idol. It would also then be easy for his bought and paid for media to photoshop swastikas and Confederate flags wherever needed.

    In the western world protests don’t work.
    People who protest expect to go home later.
    Western governments know this.

    Insurrections, on the other hand, scare the fecking shit out of them.
    (And anyone who thinks January 6 was an insurrection is a full retard.)
    When people decide they have more to gain – even if they personally lose everything – by bringing down their fascist overlords, then shit gets real.

  20. I said it at the start of the pandemic in the Spring of 2020 … that I REFUSE to live my life like a Chinese peasant and wear a mask and ride a bike to work every day. Now it appears as though the Chinese peasants REFUSE to live that way too.
