      2. As you say, no normal parent would show up, knowingly. It is possible that these events are not advertised, just billed as “story hour”. You may be right that singles with young kids think this is good, even cool, training for kids vs. a traditional family.

        Personally, I (and my son/daughter-in-law) would quickly walk out with very unhappy grand children (who, wanted to go); find them something else fun to do; and the next day write to my municipal council, where I pay taxes, loudly.
