But it’s not just Beyond Meat
Brazilian meatpacker JBS announced it would shutter its plant-based arm in October, while Kellogg’s Morningstar Farms has seen sales drop, reportedly over supply chain issues.

All the claims about plant based alternatives were scams. It is not climate friendly and it is not healthy. It is heavily processed resulting in a lot of fats and salts added to make it tasty. And it requires a lot of energy to generate.
Yes we should eat more fruits and vegetables, but gram for gram, real meat provides much more nutrients that fake products. Fruits and veggies in themselves are wonderful, I have never understood why vegans/vegetarians had to disguise the wonderful taste of fruits and veggies, even legumes, by pretending it was sausage, bacon or burgers. That action made it seem like a scam,
Totally agree – but, in my locale a head of iceberg lettuce is 5.99 – cauliflower – 6.99 – doubt they can sell all their stock – would they really throw out what they can’t sell?

It was always expensive goo and it is now more so. There’s only so much demand for really expensive goo. Who wants over-priced goo?

Wouldn’t “beyond entomology” imply artificial bug goo instead of the actual critters. I know that I will want my bugs certified organic with no additives but it’s more likely that the Eloi will be given whatever is convenient with no alternatives allowed to confuse them. And they will be happy.

When the products first launched they had big ole honking coolers, now they are housed in small coolers. I’d rather eat a box of crayons than beyond meat products, less additives in a can of mystery meat?

I can not think of a better company to fail. Turkey or chicken sausages taste awful too. Fact: we are omnivores and like meat. Yes, add veggies and fruit.
I am not bad-mouthing those who choose a completely meat-free vegetarian diet, but one has to be very careful to get enough protein at every meal and not just eat carbohydrates and sweetened salad oil from bad sources. That is how obesity occurs.
Canada’s food rules remain terrible.
