You’ve got to hand it to Sam on one issue: he knew exactly which political actors and media outlets to curry favor with. At least for a while, they’re going to do their best to draw attention away from his, ahem, more “questionable” schemes.

In the months leading up to FTX’s crash, the Bankman-Frieds and their network had rapidly increased their spending on pandemic-prevention initiatives, according to a review of funding announcements, political donations and lobbying disclosures — record-breaking sums and unconventional choices that sometimes astounded political and public health experts.
He just bought the Democrats the Senate, so either he skates, or the cameras fail in his prison cell at exactly the right moment.
Turns out that you can buy a heck of a ground game with the 200 million dollars SBF and Soros gave the Democrats.

When Bernie Madoff’s Ponzi scheme fell apart, the trustee handling the case recovered a surprising percentage of the creditors’ money using “clawbacks” (making people who had actually made money in the Ponzi scheme pay back the money).
I won’t hold my breath waiting for clawbacks in this case, since many of the people getting money were Dem politicians and woke left wing groups.

Elon has responded to some folks tweeting about this, it looks like it’s going forward.
Sam is apparently still outside his home in the Bahamas regularly. Doesn’t seem too concerned of how there are 1000’s of people who have lost life savings due to his activities, and any one of them could be a suspect if anything were to happen to them.
