  1. Best and brightest, amirite?

C’mon, you hicks, SHE’S WRITTEN BOOK! SHE IS IVY LEAGUE EDUCATED!!

She OBVIOUSLY was misinterpreted by those of the African persuasion, surely?

    1. Gee, who would have thought that our current crop of elites would be so arrogant and stupid to say the quiet part out loud and admit that they see everyone as pawns in their sick games.

  2. “Go away now” is only valid if you say it in a thick, mildly intoxicated, Scottish accent.

    1. Well, if you’ve ever heard folk singer Bobby Watt silence hecklers with “shut up”, and hear it come out as a single syllable “shaup!”…yeah, I agree.

  3. “A democracy can only be defended by people themselves if they’re actually prepared to die for their democracy,” she said last week.

But if you use bouncy castles then the government is fully justified in coming after you.

  4. “Freeland said Monday that the western world needs to recognize that current problems stem from colonization.”
Always the fault of Western civilization. Without colonization, Africa would have developed into a utopia. Same for the Americas. Aztecs would have stopped ripping out beating hearts, the indigenous would have invented the wheel and writing independently. Western values and learning bring nothing but tragedy, horror and degradation.
These innocents would have been the Eloi without the Morlocks.

    1. Could she BE any more “colonial” in her comments? Condescendingly scolding “the natives” of Africa if they don’t bow to her will? Tone deaf doesn’t begin to explain it. Arrogance and idiocy are getting closer.

  5. Freeland should go die for Ukrainian democracy (yeah, I know. Ukraine isn’t a democracy but a kleptocracy, but she should go ahead and give her life anyhow.)

    1. Silly Thu … she said that … WE … need to buck-up and take the PAIN of Ukraine’s defense … not HER. She’s too important to be bothered.

  6. Isn’t that what we Canadians are expected to do? Hell, we send our boys to die for other people’s democracies. So where’s the scandal? Just trying to spread some of that white privilege to the dark continent.

  7. I wish Danielle would denounce Freeland’s comments, say that this racism is unacceptable from a Canadian minister and that while Freeland is from Alberta, she left long ago and does not represent Alberta and that Alberta does not agree with Freeland’s views on Africans.

  8. First, I very much doubt that Freeland is prepared to die for anything, even the WEF. So yes, it is hypocritical to make that kind of statement when Freeland is no way prepared to do likewise. She will take money to espouse a cause, but to die for a cause, from someone that has never missed a meal except by choice, is a bridge too far.

Second, however, there is an expectation in a large part of the world that solutions involve large quantities of money, and very little human effort. Our government (and I resent this action) hands large sums of taxpayers’ dollars to other countries to solve problems. Justine, the Spawn, does this regularly in exchange for personal kudos to prop up the balloon of his ever deflating ego and low self image. So why don’t people stay in their own countries and solve their own problems, Chrystia? Because the playing field is being manipulated by governments like ours endlessly handing money to their oppressors for free with no accountability for how it is spent. Compassion without thought is not a virtue – it is enabling the problem (like handing an addict another fix, keeping them enslaved).

  9. Trudeau: “You African children are going to have to starve because I’m going to war on food production. We’re going to ban farmers from using fossil fuels and fertilizers. Something something global warming.”

    1. Blah blah blah … climate
      Blah blah blah … crisis
Blah blah blah … existential threat
Blah blah blah … energy poverty
Blah blah blah … oil baaaad mmmkay?
Blah blah blah … Ukraine democracy
Blah blah blah … Putin hates the LGBTQqEI2s+/-

  10. For once in her life she said something accurate and no one here can even recognize it.

If Africans want democracy they’ll have to kill the tyrants who rule them. No one else will do it for them and unless they kill them the tyrants aren’t going anywhere.

It’s no different here either, we’re just not as far gone as Congo is yet. Our leaders will get more and more tyrannical unless they fear losing their jobs or their heads.

    1. You can say the statement is accurate but coming from her gob its pure bullshit because she’s part of the growing tyranny, eyeballing our money & freezing bank accounts.
She no more believes in democracy than she believes Rusty or dumb Buddy are her equals.
She’s as much an elitist as any clan chief from Africa.

  11. “This a strong sense among many African countries that they are being bullied or patronized, or that one is holding aid hostage to support in the UN (forums), for the war in Ukraine,” she said.”

“Who, li’l ol’ me? Oh come now…that’s crazy talk!!!” Actually Freeland, it’s precisely those kind of games I envision you playing.

  12. She may be short in stature, but Freeland’s ego is a mile high.
She’s fooling no one with her forked tongue yet she thinks we’re too stupid or ignorant, such is her self-reverence.
Democracy is a fool’s game when tribal affiliation trumps all.
In many countries elections are about as pure as Juthtin’s teaching record.
She’s probably aligned with that asshole, John Kerry and his desire for Africans to use solar and wind when they want to use natural gas, oil and coal, just like their “betters” in the western world.

  13. I say we let one of her very own lickspittles “die for democracy.” You know, the one that daydreams of sucking on her used tampons whenever she gushes over THE Ukraine. He sacrificed his brain last February (if not earlier–that’s debatable). It would be no big loss.
