Europe’s Fuel Supply Fears Worsen

OilPrice.com;

The biggest refinery in Europe, Shell’s Pernis in the Netherlands, suffered a malfunction late on Wednesday, which could exacerbate an already worsening fuel supply situation in northwest Europe due to the strikes in France.

Shell Pernis said late on Wednesday that “Due to a malfunction on one of our installations, we are forced to flare.”

Shell is investigating the cause of the malfunction and is doing everything it can to solve the problem as soon as possible, and to limit the nuisance for the residents in the vicinity of the refinery near Rotterdam, the company said. […]

France’s fuel distribution continues to be disrupted by the ongoing strikes at refineries, with no end in sight to the industrial action that has left more than 60% of French refining capacity offline.

You can always tell a Dutchman, you just can’t tell him much!

  1. So where is the email from Klaus Schweinhunt? Does anyone really believe that this was an accident?

  2. Huh.

It’s almost like building in some redundancy to our regional refining capacities worldwide would be a . . . good thing.

Naaaaaaah. We’ll just keep limping along with our 40-year-old infrastructure and hope none of it ever needs any downtime for maintenance whatsoever.

  3. This could be a golden opportunity for Canada to sell Europe some oil. But have an arrogant idiot for a prime minister.

    1. Let em freeze in the dark. Euroweenies are Euroweenies … soft … pliable and dumb like rocks. They are reaping what they have sown.

They have embraced socialism .. so … what does anyone expect?

Oh ya ,.. then there are the splendid immigration policies.

    1. Perhaps.

But, the gang greens are doubling down that an all wind and solar grid will be cheaper than hydrocarbons.

In Britain, Labor is poised to make a comeback. But the Labor policies are even more gang green than the Conservatives.

    2. Germany’s government is already planning on making the opposition party illegal. How long before our Shiny Pony does the same in Canada?

  4. But will it get bad enough for them to learn anything rational from it?

At what temperature does reality set in?
    Fahrenheit -45.1?

  5. Blackrock inc. owns 7.3% stake in Royal Dutch Shell, so I’m not ruling out anything.
Speaking of Blackrock it was nice to see the State of Louisiana bitchslapping Blackrock CEO Larry Fink informing him that the State was divesting itself from all things Blackrock – “Your blatantly anti-fossil fuel policies would destroy Louisiana’s economy,”…
    Nothing cryptic about that statement.

  6. If I was a Moslem immigrant who hated living in Europe and wanted f**k shit up with the infidels, I’d help the stupid bastards with their social suicide.
If caught, I would claim I was saving the planet, just like the Gang Green Retards.

Also, I bet people like David Asshole Suzuki, Al Liar Gore and all the other save-the-planet Murderous Thoughtsters are really enjoying this.

  7. At some point, the pendulum will swing in the opposite direction, probably about the end of January, I just don’t know if I can afford enough popcorn to last until then. This all might end similar to the French revolution (hopefully)!

  8. Europe knew what it was doing when it cancelled actual practical forms of energy and put all of its eggs in Russian baskets, right?

    1. No. They were too busy smelling unicorn farts and sniffing Greta’s armpits.

      1. Actually they were busy building a world leading economy using cheap Russian energy while holding their noses in the air at everyone else. I can see their arrogance when it comes to Americans, the average American has zero political awareness and will drone media talking points having never opened so much as a periodical let alone an actual book.
Europe made the mistake of clinging to the dream of being just like the USA.
The Russians on the other hand, do read books.
        You pick your poison.

  9. When you choose the Church of Greenpeace over the laws of physics, bad shit will eventually happen. They are just a few years ahead of us on that same road to serfdom. Until the bodies are stacked up like cordwood along the roadsides, nothing will change.

  10. I realize that this isn’t the most charitable or Christian (perhaps post-Christian because we’re speaking of Europe) of thoughts but let me ask you this: wouldn’t the phrase “Freeze, Euroweenies, Freeze!” look GREAT on a T-shirt?

  11. I don’t know if it’s the same in Canada, but south of the border there is not a peep about the problems in France. Total silence.
I have to go online and watch Le Journal de 20H on TF1 online to find out what is happening.

My guess is that they don’t want to give US refinery workers/truckers any ideas.

  12. Well, I don’t wish it on the euroweenies, and I tell you why. Because the situation is no different here: a small minority of (relatively) clear-thinkers is held hostage by a dependent, gullible, and stupid urban majority. And that holds true, or has in the past, for every province in the Dominion. And every federal and provincial political party licks those urban arses for their votes.

As it has been for at least 60 yrs…aligning perfectly from the time Public Service Unions were certified.

    No correlation there what. ??

  14. I always thought those big refinery places had lots of guys running around, keeping the peroxides away from the permanganates. This ‘aw shucks’ response by the emergency response team makes me think some James Bond activity has been going on. This is state level sabotage.
