Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

How many innocent children were mowed down by gunfire in ShitCongo’s south side in the course of that video? By multiple offender felons released without bail and illegals given a slap on the wrist?
Get a life. Is there anything you enjoy, or are you just into ruining things for other people?
I expect a detailed daily report on your move to ShitCongo’s south side to help clean things up. Or are you content that the lives of innocent children are continually ruined by the inaction of hypocrites like you? Go ahead, put that Ukrainian flag on your Twitter and Facebook. Show us you really care.
Ypoctites like me? Because I think the Wrigley video was exceptional and fun? What the hell is wrong with you? Do you always make assumptions about people you don’t know?
FYI I don’t support Ukraine. And I’ve done remedial teaching in the Chicago ghetto. (No, I’m not black.) I grew up in the area. I know more about Chicago than you’ll ever know. Exactly where do YOU live?
Fake video… there’s not a single gunshot victim lying in any of the streets they showed.
Wrong team. Wrong part of town. White Sox fans are the ones who burn cop cars to celebrate both victory and defeat,.
So basically like Vancouver Canucks fans.
There are places you simply don’t go anymore. New Orleans, St. Louis, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Chicago are at the top of my list.
Anyone know a good place to buy kevlar sheeting?
You guys are all real goods time Charlies. Geez.
That was exciting. Especially if you’ve been to Wrigley and know the Cubs. You all also have the misconception that the entire city of Chicago is a hell hole. Far from it. Though I have to admit the Mayor seems to be doing her best to make that happen. It’s still a great city in numerous ways, and still well worth a visit.
Been there, pretty much just like any other Midwest city, one more pile of concrete and potholed roads. Difference between Chicago and Toronto? Pretty much a wash. I don’t like Toronto either.
I agree that the spicy parts are confined to a couple of very small neighborhoods where the punks whack each other pretty much without interference from the cops. Somehow they really never seem to leave those little free-fire zones. You go two streets away and you can hear the shooting but they always seem to keep it inside the fence. Almost as if there was an arrangement of some kind…
I love that drone they used. First-person video with VR goggles and a simple controller, drone weighs ~2lbs and does 4K video, under $2000. Awesome.
There should be races with these things. Honestly, how cool would that be?
The footage is pretty awesome.
Unfortunately, it’s also illegal. Chicago requires FAA rules for drone use. I know this from personal experience. One of the rules is that you cannot fly your drone over moving vehicles. You, also, cannot fly your drone over private property without permission from the owner.
I hope Sky Candy Studios isn’t conservative, because they just invited a 30 man SWAT team into their workplace.
Orson,
Really?!?!? That’s your take-away? Why not not enjoy the video for what it showed and the work it took to shoot it?
As a business, I’m sure the Chicago Cubs got the requisite permissions before shooting this video. BTW: it’s also illegal to fly a drone over Wrigley Field on game day due to FAA regulations so they used a handheld GoPro for the run-up on the field.
My answer is simple….and you even touched on it. Freedoms don’t just exist for the corporate world. They exist for each and every single individual. I’m sure Sky Candy Studios did indeed secure a waver to circumvent the law. But, ask yourself this. Do you think a regular individual could do the same? Nope.
Money and influence offset fairness (and the constitution) continuously. This is just another example. Failure to recognize that is a result of conditioning due to each and every example such as this one. Application of the law should not be subjective. It should be absolute and consistent.
There are a bunch of “oh, come on guys, just enjoy the footage” responses on this thread. I see them as ignorance and acceptance of a piss poor status quo.
Been there … done that. But must admit I didn’t walk the entire perimeter of the stadium. Didn’t make it to Waverly Drive. Why? Because jussssst as the gene ended, a massive rain storm dumped about 3” of rain in 2 hr. Jumped back on the train to downtown … just as it cut loose. Funny thing … you couldn’t PAY ME to visit Chicago ever again. It’s “their” Chicago now … and “they” aren’t my people. Aren’t what I consider my fellow citizens.
Baseball can only be enjoyed in a classic stadium like Wrigley … and when they only sell Old Style beer out of wax paper cups … you feel connected to the Golden Age of baseball. The woke corporate FRAUDS who run baseball now … make me sick. They allowed Barroid Bonds to taint their game … and it’s been downhill ever since. I’ve lost all interest.
My only memory of Wrigley Field is the Steve Bartman Incident — where a dumb-looking nerd prevented the Cubs left-fielder from catching a foul ball, preventing a Cubs playoff victory. At the time the Cubs had gone decades without a World Series appearance:

Lotta shitposters on here. That was an awesome video.
I’ve been to Chicago twice and watched two Cubs games, one from the bleachers and another from the Wrigley Rooftops. It’s a very nice and safe neighboorhood, which goes to show that enclaves of high civilization can exist within any surroundings and under any administration.
I don’t know exactly how they do it, but it’s something for all us civilized folk to consider in the coming years.
