Belgium announced on Friday that its Doel 3 nuclear reactor will disconnect from the grid and cease operations, even as the country fears blackouts this winter. It is one of four reactors at the Doel plant near the port of Antwerp, and is the first nuclear reactor to shut down in Belgium’s plan to exit nuclear power completely.
The move moves even as thousands of Belgians took to the streets on Wednesday to protest soaring electricity prices and high costs of living. In a recent Belgian media poll, 64% of Belgians are concerned that they might not be able to pay their energy bills.
It also comes as Belgium stainless steel maker Aperam was forced to stop production as the high energy prices became untenable.

Right now it’s neck and neck between Belgium and Denmark to see which country can be the most stupid. While Belgium is shutting down their needed reactor, Denmark became the first country to pay into the UN’s “Loss and Damage” fund to accommodate those countries suffering from Climate Change.
One would wonder if there is a Nigerian prince in charge of the “Loss and Damage” fund.

It seems to me that when there’s a hot summer, there then follows, a cold winter.

My first thought was why would they shut it down? There must be a problem with the reactor, surely? Reading the report, it is a purely political decision, so it must be that the elites DO NOT WANT US TO HAVE CHEAP RELIABLE ENERGY. PERIOD.
This coming winter in the UK has been forecast to be similar to 2010-2011 – extremely cold.

I was in Lynn Lake, Manitoba years ago and the locals were ripping wood off the boarded-up windows to burn inside the abandoned houses. Seemed like a bad strategy at the time. Now the Belgians are shutting down their nuclear power plants as Europe faces a winter energy shortage.
I keep saying that climate activists make SS concentration camp guards look like humanitarians. And this is another example. Even the Nazis weren’t that indifferent to the plight of ordinary Belgians during their occupation in WW2.
