Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Lisa Laflamme in London is offering excellent color commentary on CITY TV. She is with Daniel Richler and several British historians.
I have an original photo of Queen Elizabeth riding side saddle at the Trooping of the Color, on June 3, 1972. A late blogger of this site left it to yours truly and I shall treasure it always.

Just come back from London. Very sad, but fantastic atmosphere of unity among the very mixed crowd along Whitehall (I stood almost opposite Downing Street). Great ceremony, wonderful people, peaceful and relaxed.
Just finished watching the committal service at Windsor online.
It truly hit me when the lone piper began to play, and dust appeared in the air.
Rest in Peace, Your Majesty.

Man Accused of Attacking Queen’s Coffin Named as Muhammed Khan ‘Of Tower Hamlets’

Beautifully done pageantry and regalia.
Fox News had by far the most compelling coverage. I switched occassionaly to the CBC; ugly people with more than off-putting inane drivel and limp interviews with people I had never heard of.
At one point Fox interviewed former PM Stephen Harper who was relaxed, intelligent in his responses, informed and supportive of the monarchy and Canada. Trudeau and Sophie were noticeably ignored upon their appearance entering St. George’s at Windsor.

I guess nobody captured videos of Shiny Pony singing the Sex Pistol’s God Save The Queen…
Who is worse – him or the people who would STILL vote for him?
I’ve met him three times. He is worse than those fools who would vote for him, unless they are narcissists too.
(Yep, after quitting another blog after 9 years, I am here now… sometimes.)
You poor man …
BlockheadBloc head calls for abolition of monarchy following death of Queen Elizabeth IIhttps://thepostmillennial.com/bloc-head-calls-for-abolition-of-monarchy-following-death-of-queen-elizabeth-ii?
Not the right time and what would we replace the outmoded institution with? Justin’s Chinese bosses?
Worse still. He blames the British Crown for the conquest of New France when New France was ruled by a freaking monarchy! [Without a Parliament.]
Poignant scene of the Queen’s Fell pony, 24 year old Emma at the final procession to St. George’s Chapel.

Does anyone know where to access a link to the event, especially the recessional and slow March to Wellington’s Arch without all the ‘talking heads banter’? I know the answer but why must they have gone on and on and on? Nothing they said contributed to the solemnity of the event but distracts from it.
I’d try bbc.com later to check if they post it in its entirety. I refused to watch any Canadian or American news outlets after being disgusted by the coverage of Prince Philip’s funeral; they just would not shut up! The BBC’s coverage was just as I had expected: solemn, respectful, and without useless banter.
Agree with you on the BBC’s coverage. Daughter called this morning to say that she tried to watch the funeral on Global but the talking by the commentators was non-stop and thus unwatchable.
Try the Royal Family’s YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/TheRoyalFamilyChannel
No commentary at all.
thank you for this reference
