Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a very bright guy on his own but his Rapid Response Director, Christina Pushaw is beyond brilliant and helps supercharge their responses to the Corrupt Legacy Media:
“It’s more than bias. It’s more than the old standards. It’s contempt. They hate you. They hate us. They hate everything that we stand for, and I really think they hate this country. So, what do we do? We cut them off.”
According to Pushaw, the almost exclusively liberal reporters staffing mainstream media newsrooms don’t care about fairness, accuracy or truth. All they want, she said, is to advance a liberal agenda while tamping down the voices of conservatives who dare to call them out.
As the contemptible David Akin recently proved, the Canadian legacy media are no better. Given that part of their paycheques comes from the Trudeau government, they’re arguably worse. So will the newly invigorated Conservative Party, under the leadership of @PierrePoilievre follow suit and treat the Canadian Media Party apparatchiks like the cult-like Leftist Activists they truly are?!?

If the Canadian Conservatives are anything like the US conservatives, no they will not. They crave media approval like a heroin addict craves a fix. As much as they should realize the media is the enemy, they mostly refuse to acknowledge the fact. This is why DeSantis is like a breath of fresh air, he’s one of the few that treats the media as they should be treated, as the enemy they are.
“So will the newly invigorated Conservative Party, under the leadership of @PierrePoilievre follow suit and treat the Canadian Media Party apparatchiks like the cult-like Leftist Activists they truly are?”
A good question. Because, as Harley Price recently noted in the Epoch Times:
“For the past two years, the Trudeau regime has enjoyed the unwavering support of the federal Conservatives in its jihad against basic civil liberties throughout its eternally renewable COVID “emergency.”
And..
“In Canada, there is an already venerable tradition according to which, once in power, both federal and provincial Conservative Party politicians ritually repudiate the social conservatives on whose backs they have ridden to victory.”

We will see. Part of me thinks that the Cons are slowly realizing that the Liberals have crossed the Rubicon, but history doesn’t lie.
I certainly will be voting Libertarian in my riding because it’s the middle of Ottawa ffs.
Good read.
Small c conservatives need to hold their ground and then advance.
(DeSantis would be my choice for president if I was an American voter.)
PP will be attacked constantly. The legacy media knows that he knows what they are. He will not survive unless he engages them, calls them out like Akin the Arsehole and tells them that as far as he’s concerned, they’re subsidized by the Liberal Party of Canada and are therefore compromised. He also needs to tell them that its coming to an end when the Conservatives win a majority.
On both sides of the 49th parallel, a large percentage of conservatives are being defined by the legacy media as:
hate-filled, racist, misogynist, xenophobic & violent extremists/insurrectionists.
So be it.
And as I’ve written many times, it’s a cold civil war, but it’s heating up.
Its existential.
You can’t bargain, you don’t bargain with people who have no decency, and the legacy media is nothing less than agitprop of the Neo-Marxists.
100% agree. With the addenda that it’s worse in Canada. Conservatives are more lukewarm and divided here (only 68% for PP?!?) + Liberals&NDP cabal have a stronger grip on everything gov+media. Plus it’s a longer road to next federal election in Canada. I truly hope that PP will not let go. It will be VERY hard because there’s way more dictatorship, corruption and more socialism in Canada than US. These years of covid showed little Castro’s dictatorial tendencies aplenty. Media in Canada is even more into licking Prime Moron & co. Justice is on their corner as well, Finance also – we all saw how fast the banks folded when Freedom Convoy happened.
Some of us didn’t vote for PP because we don’t trust him. Some of us voted for people like Roman Baber because although he’s not flashy he has an actual track record of opposing tyranny and suffering for it. The majority of us I fear will come to regret falling for a flashy, charismatic career politician who says all the right things.
I hope you’re wrong … but I think you’re right.
I felt the same way about flashy, unproven, NYFC denizen Trump in 2016, but I voted for him anyway because Hillary!?.
I was very pleasantly surprised. I hope you and Canada are also pleasantly surprised by PP.
Crypt..
I too put Roman on the # 1 Ballot followed by Leslyn and then Pierre.
Same!
Ditto!
68% is a HUGE result! That was first ballot result. Many people ranked him, but wanted to acknowledge other players first. I just put one name, as I consider the others not ready to run a country.
Charest, though experienced, would never have been a choice of mine, as he is a Liberal with a clear track record.
Charest was the Hauwei candidate.
I wonder if he declared all his Hauwei income?
“You can’t bargain, you don’t bargain with people who have no decency,”
Yup. But it’s a lesson that no one learns. You make your first mistake when you agree to sit down and talk.
Polievre must rid Canada of the Communist Brainwashing Committee. Do what Harper failed to do.
I whole-heartedly agree, Thomas. But while that will be a great symbolic victory, it will not make a huge difference. The Ceeb is dead last in viewership in all major markets in Canada – even behind Global. They are not the only source of propaganda – most MSM outlets, school boards, universities, large corporations, etc. are all spineless shills for the leftist Cause de Jour. If I did not have grandkids, I would not even bother engaging in the culture war anymore.
As for the Canadian Broadcorping Castration, there is no need to actively shut it down – just stop the financing, and it will shrivel and die on its own, or become an irrelevant PBS style ghetto for the few lefties willing to shell out some $$ for their Marxist fix of the day.
Still, it will feel “Oh So Good” for you and me to not be funding them anymore.
And as Dan C noted above, we have far more corruption here, a more monolithic media mindset, and provincial governments who are utterly compliant with whatever the Narrative of the Day is. In the US, there were a few states who did not embrace the total lockdown madness. Here – well, you know. Not one stood up for their people or that bit of TP known as the Charter. Will any province ever go full DeSantis? Not holding my breath.
The CRTC should be next.
And who doesn’t like Arizona’s Kari Lake? Smart, pretty and likes to take the gloves off every so often when it comes to dealing with media hacks.
Burton
I simply love that woman as I do Tulsi Gabbard…& Candace Owens.
Common Sense the lot.
As for our Media..? I simply do not partake in any of their garbage..
Steak
Yup, they are excellent people who are what is needed for honest governance. I’v noticed that much of the heavy lifting these days is by women of strong character.
There have been very few Canadian politicians who have treated the members of the press with the contempt they deserve and used them as the groupies that they are. Ralphie, Harris, Levesque, and though I hate to give the piece of crap any credit, turdo la first are the ones that come to mind.
Ralph Klein was one of them for long enough to see from the inside what was going on. So was Kari Lake.
I celebrate with chocolate when western journalists die…like that 24 year old POS in Regina.
When the shots really kick in….I’ll find a way to moderate. But still, the death of every journalist needs to be celebrated like the Palestinians on 9-11.
Wow. Classy.
Stateless.
Given the continuing madness of the past 2.5 yrs, I am of the same attitude as you. I too will celebrate those occasions. They of all People, were the ones who SHOULD Have been inquisitive … Instead, they ALL Gleefully took a page out the Joseph Goebbels playbook.
CBC – CTV – Global – McLeans – Globe n Mail et all: 100% NAZI Propaganda FILTH.
May the Jonestown Jab eviscerate the lot.
ZERO Sympathy.
I will say, at times when I can even be bothered to read an article in Msm, it’s usually from Nat Post and one of their soi boi goofs posing as a Conservative scribe.
I hold bk squat. Gotta tell it like it is.
ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
What can Akin and the CBC and the subsidized media and the Liberals do, other than create hatred and fear by demonizing us?
They have no policies that make any sense at all.
Not one of Trudeau’s cabinet ministers could run a lemonade stand, in fact he is the smartest man in that cabinet. Let that sink in…
Can they run on forcing Canadians eating bugs?
Can they run on locking down children and injecting them with an experimental vaccine that the rest of the world is rejecting?
Can they run on sky high gas prices, higher inflation, and starving the third world with insane fertilizer polices?
Nope.
So they will run on scaring Canadians again, this time not with covid but instead with scary right wingers led by the devil himself, Pierre Poilievre.
Point that out to people. The Liberals and corrupt media have no choice. Their only option is to fearmonger and demonize normal people. Ask them “Are you going to be dumb enough to let the corrupt media manipulate you again?”
Akin was tasked with leading the charge because they thought that we would believe the lie that he is not liberal because he once asked Trudeau a tough question about one of his scandals. As if that makes him honest and unbiased.
Keep asking people why they believe any of that media crap designed to scare and manipulate them. Ask them why they allow that and if they like being lied to.
And CPC politicians need to talk about how much of our money that the media gets from the taxpayer and how that corporate welfare creates a conflict of interest with every government funded journalist.
If they don’t do that they are just stupid.
There are words and phrases to use, like ‘corporate welfare’, ‘handouts’, ‘market share’, ‘target audience’, ‘conflict of interest’, and ‘full disclosure’.
They need to ask why some kid serving fries at McDonalds and who doesn’t watch the Zoolander Media has money taken from him to give to them. They need to ask questions like why is a single mom paying CBC to make stupid sitcoms and dishonest news reports.
Most of the CPC MPs are too gutless, too stupid, and too Liberal to do any of this.
Pushaw had another good comeback recently. Maria Shriver decided to try being relevant calling Desantis a bully for sending illegals to MV. Pushaw -“It’s a sore point with Maria. Her ex husband had a baby with one”
Oh that’s awesome!
She Schwarzeneggered her.
“So will the newly invigorated Conservative Party, under the leadership of @PierrePoilievre follow suit?”
They will if they want to win. If they don’t, they’ll lose. Plain and simple. You can’t compromise with people who illegally freeze the bank accounts of Canadians for donating to a charity and then blame it on Diagolon. There’s only one thing to do with that.
If I were advising PP, I’d tell him to never give another speech to the Press Gallery while he’s Leader of the Opposition. Let them chew on that.
Ultimately, he’s either going to defund the Canadian media or they’ll destroy him. Taxpayer money is the only thing keeping them alive now anyway. Take it away and they’ll fold like a cheap suit.
To be clear, the political divide in Canada is too wide to be spanned. The majority of the West wants conservative governance…that is, to be left alone and not be dictated to be a handful of globalist apparatchiks masquerading as politicians. But one has a tendency to think in terms of provincial boundaries. That thinking has to be reconsidered. When the Reform Party was deciding to expand into Eastern Canada, I always though it was an enormous mistake to even TRY to run candidates in Metro Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal. There was virtually ZERO chance of electing anyone there and it was a waste of resources and if those candidates wanted to have a chance, they would have to water down their platform making them quasi-leftists.
It is time to put it all on the table…..if the Conservatives don’t get a majority and if the west is once again considered a colony, the game is pretty much over. And Canada may well have to split.
And if you really think about it, what is sacrosanct about a country’s borders anyway? History shows us that country borders are not static. There is nothing special about the borders of Canada either. My father came out of Russia in the mid 1920’s after the Bolshevik Revolution. He would often remark that “Canada isn’t a country. It is too large and diverse to be governed from the centre”. In fact, in that regard, it is much like the USSR and after all, Ukraine (which joined the USSR in December, 1922) seceded from the USSR in December, 1991 as it would not be dictated to by a hostile government in Moscow.
Keep asking why the independent media in Canada are growing despite not receiving corporate welfare while the Zoolander Media keeps crashing and needing more and more corporate welfare.
(Or should that be Le Media De Zoolander?)
I thought all those leftwingers and liberals hated corporate welfare.
What happened to ‘Power To The People’?
That was first ballot result. Many people ranked PP, but wanted to acknowledge other players. I just put one name, PP, as I considered the others not ready to run a country.
Charest, though experienced, would never have been my choice, as he is a Liberal. I would have not renewed my membership.
I joined the CPC to vote for PP and Lewis because I thought that the fix was in and Charest had a chance of stealing it.
I’ll vote for Max in the general election because my local CPC MP has said that he supports public broadcasting and the CBC.
BTW, where are the ranked ballot results?
Who would have come in second in the different regions of the country if PP hadn’t taken it on the first ballot?
Could a black immigrant woman have been the second ballot choice in western Canada again?
That doesn’t fit the Zoolander Media narratives.
Political pundits love to endlessly blowass and speculate about all sorts of things.
Odd that none of them have any interest in that.
If she hadn’t come in second we’d be hearing about how that was a sign of how racist and evil western Canadians are.
The socialist media dogs that didn’t bark…
FINALLY!
Someone noticed that the “opinion-shaping” churnalists if the Filth-Column, “fourth estate” are the mangy tail, wagging the rabid dog of modern politics. Churnalists: The toxic “adult” form of nasty school-yard tattle-tales.
It has only take at least half a century, and the brief flowering of this-here intertube thingy.
