    1. And what’s worse … is that it is a fundamentally simple and obvious question to ask. I grew up believing that the job of a Journalist was to ask; Who? What? Where? When? And Why? I learned this as a 10yo kid. It didn’t take a “University education” to understand that is the fundamental role of a proper newspaper.

      The politicized lack of curiosity by the so-called Journalist class is as DANGEROUS as it is STUPID. Kate is so over the target that it’s hardly surprising she’d take some incoming fire. Poorly aimed, ineffective anti-Journalist-craft fire. Bravo Kate.

    Other than the ability to cash government subsidy cheques?
    What exactly do you need to learn to be a journalist in Canada?

    Ask another question: Were they shot, and if so, by whom?

    Why is her response to launch an attack on Kate’s ‘journalist credentials’?
    Does the truth make the credentialed journalist uncomfortable for some reason?

    There is a reason that independent media in Canada is growing while the heavily subsidized fools like Ashleigh need to have their salaries topped up with our tax dollars.
    Could that reason be honesty and integrity?

    I think Kate just did, but then credentialed journalists are not very observant or clear thinking and we shouldn’t be surprised that Ashleigh missed it.
    It’s a job requirement to be oblivious to their surroundings.

    Why don’t the subsidized media have to add a ‘Full Disclosure, We’re Funded By Trudeau’ to any story related to politics or elections?
    Those elections directly affect their pay cheques and livelihood. It is a direct conflict of interest for them.
    They claim to be unbiased and trustworthy. Isn’t that false advertising as well?
    Stock pickers have to give full disclosure before recommending a stock that they own, how is this any different?

    Ashleigh’s refusal to ask those questions is her way of hiding from the real problem. She’s too cowardly to accept her role in the media hiding the truth and the consequences of that media dishonesty.
    Her Twitter thread seems to be looking for answers but she’s is too much of a coward to ask questions that matter.

The entire “can’t we all just get along” segment of our society have never lived on the mean streets. They’ve never seen what The Police see … day in and day out. The police have learned from a thousand years of civilized experience that in many, many, cases … it’s gonna be either YOU … or HIM.

    There’s the stabbings – or at least we’re told they are stabbings – at James Smith Cree Nation and then the wild goose chase in Regina. Now it seems that both brothers may never have left James Smith and now there’s “separate” shootings at another Cree Nation two or so hours west. The SaskAlert warning messages are saying the two don’t appear to be related – but come on.

    I’m going to guess that nobody’s even been stabbed – were these all shootings? And is that being covered up to justify Trudeau’s gun control nonsense that disarms non-natives but allows natives to keep firearms?

    This whole thing stinks.

I love how the credentialed types always point to their diploma as if sitting in a lecture hall as an 18-22 year old, listening to outdated lectures and achieving 50% should sanctify one as being part of the untouchable class and define their very being, even much later in life. In my case, I tend to point to my 35 years of experience rather than a framed diploma, but then again I went to technical college, and spent the next 3.5 decades enrolled in the hard knocks faculty so I’m probably a few rungs lower than the alleged “journalist”.

    By the by, there are no “First Nations” because there is no democratically-led government that collects taxes and uses them for its citizens (of varying parentages – it must be said) in these northern ghettos. There is also an enormous amount of dysfunction no one wants to address which is why residential schools are go-to excuses and no one will explain why (if true) Mr. Stabby-Stabby was shielded.

    But I ramble on …

  31. The rez is a very nasty place. You have to fight. A coupla summers ago I had a native guy working for me (chainsaw). He was a good guy and when he worked, he worked hard. Just don’t expect him to show up before noon.

    He was a free spirit. Wouldn’t hurt a flea. He told me he was down on his luck a few years earlier and headed over to his fathers rez to hang out (sponge off his relatives). The 2nd night on the rez the locals showed up to fight him. Wanted to see how tough he was. His first cousins were in the group. He managed not to engage and left the next day never to return.

    My guess is the Sask slashers never left the rez. The place is full of sympatherizers. Guys in the same gang. They’ll provide cover from the cops.

    How did buddy get killed? It was reported he was breaking into a house to get at someone ( a rival gang member?). The guy in the house probably shot the perp right through the door with a 30-30. They all have one. His brother mighta got hit as well.

  32. Now the narrative invention squads are trying to blame all this on residential schools. Come on. It has been very hot recently in SK, surely global warming is a better excuse than residential schools? I would also blame Trump’s insistence on recounting the votes. You have to look at the bigger picture. Everything has its reasons.

      Personally, I think when they -finally- figure out a timeline they’ll go to the last house he hit and they’ll find his dead @$$ in a ditch nearby.

      Or, and this is a bit more alarming, his bros on the rez are still hiding him from the cops. It’s hard for one guy to kill 10 and wound 15 more by himself, with a knife. I don’t really see that happening to be honest, even if he was flying on angel dust. A group effort, I believe that more.

      I’m sure that -eventually- all the details will come out in discovery, when the band council sues the government and the RCMP, but we can be sure that little Ashleigh Stewart with her CRT-decoder ring will not be the one breaking the story.
