  1. The Italians (formerly known as The Roman Empire) owe my Goth relatives BIG reparations. You’ve seen the film Gladiator? You saw what the Roman Army did to my relatives … heads on pikes. The Italians owe me at least a quarter million dollars … or a free Ferrari … a Daytona SP3 would be just fine

    1. I think the Goths, Wisigoths, etc got theirs back when they sacked Rome a few dozen times. Plus they had one of them be an Emperor. You might end up owing, I’d be quiet if I was you.

      1. Yeah … but they started it. That’s what the noble, beautiful, eco-friendly, Sioux said after they massacred Custer and demanded reparations. Surely I’m owed the same as North American Indians …

  2. Wake up the Squareheads and they might remember that most of Poland used to be German or Austrian.

      1. It would be the worst possible time to regain that territory. None in Poland wants to regain that territory which is almost entirely ethnic Ukrainian now. Poland is nearly homogeneous ethnically, it is great source of strength for Poland, and the last thing Poland needs is a hostile Ukrainian minority. More importantly strong Ukraine is in Polish interest and everyone in Poland understands that. Hence the nearly unanimous support for Ukraine in Poland.

        1. Re. Poland homogenous. The allied victors agreed to have 14 million ethnic Germans expelled from Eastern Europe incl. territory that was handed over to Poland and that’s not counting the ones Stalin sent to Siberia. 2 million died during the exodus. The Ukraine is not homogeneous but that problem is in the process of being resolved without resorting to ethnic cleansing like the Allies did.

          1. Yes allies redrawn Polish borders, shifted them west. Poland had no say in it. Millions died in the process, Poles, Ruthenians, Ukrainians, Lithuanians, Germans. Given their immediate past, Germans go off easy. Ukrainians are subjected to genocide now at the hands of the Siberian horde. Any Siberians on Ukrainian soil are remnants of occupation and need to be expelled like Germans after WWII. You’re a demagogue. Film at 11.

  3. I hit the side bar piece about the reactor’s in Ukraine being shut down.
The story says that the Russians hold the reactors but that one has been shut down because the Russians are shelling it.

I’m pretty sur4e that makes zero sense from any standpoint.
    Methinks the media is either
    A. Full of crap or, B. just lying their butts off or, C. Only publish what they’re told by the Ukes and the West.

Optional, D All of the above.

    1. uuuuh. Well, ya sure… it’s like uh… Putin is so EEEEEEEVIL he’s shelling his ownn reactor just for fun! There!

  4. The leader of the country’s ruling nationalists, Jaroslaw Kaczynski – who is a direct descendant of Alexander Graham Kaczynski, the inventor of the telephone pole and Polish hero – said that the Polish World War Two losses, estimated at 6.2 trillion zlotys ($1.96 US), were caused by German theft of the Polish gold reserves which were hidden under a bar of soap. Germany responded by offering two bars of soap as reparations but the Polish political leader turned down the offer by exclaiming, “What would anyone do with that much soap?”

  5. And how much losses was done ,in trillions of a zloyts, by the Russian Communist USSR that invaded Poland 3 weeks after the Germans invaded, and didnt leave until 1992?

  6. I am of Irish/Russian descent.

The English stole my ancestors’ land and the Soviet’s stole my ancestors’ land.

Half a million $CAD from each out to cover it.

    1. Just a part of EU political powerplay. Germany want EU to be their empire. A trading empire dependent on cheap russian energy sources. Hence they have been consistently sabotaging Polish economic development: ex Baltic Pipe or the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie*. They routinely use the pretense of environmentalism and “human rights” to cut Poland off from EU funds. In short, Pootin’s agents of influence do what they have been told, and in return get jobs with Gazprom. Poland has little patience for this these days, hence fires back. Expect Polish German diplomatic rumble to escalate. In the meantime GDP per capita growth in Poland is between 5 and 6% and unemployment has dropped below 5%. The less reliant they are on EU funds the less they are willing to submit to economic pressures from Germany (that in turn needs Polish export market).

*Thanks to both developments Poland now has surplus natural gas and is reselling some of it driving Germans bonkers.

        1. I think so. At least there is some competent long run plan to navigate the future. There is a lot of political turmoil but the pro EU fraction, seems to be slowly losing ground (for now). Also, Poland is in the middle of a very comprehensive rearmament program with South Korea, US and UK being the primary sources.

  7. half price sale. 3.1 of 6.2 trillion
my Neanderthal relatives, yes i can see it in the mirror , got skidded early in Britain maybe by the beaker people , id settle for some corded ware.

  8. Well, I dunno who stole the land I live on, but if I don’t pay taxes, the governmet will take my stuff and put me in prison. Anybody has a better deal to offer me, I’m listening….

  9. It took them 77 years to add it up??????
Finally found enough fingers to count it on I guess…………

  10. Such perfect timing.
Could it be the “Massive Ukrainian Counter Attack” is over already?
I foresee the Polish Plan, first blackmail a losing Germany into paying up.
Then switch sides and profit from Russia’s Riches..
Finally payment for the wrongs done in 1939..

  11. I am starting to wonder whether all the foreseeable consequences of sanctions on Russia(energy crisis, deindustrialisation, crashing GDP and increased poverty) are Russia’s revenge for the consequences to them of Gorbachev and Yeltsin inviting neocon/liberal western advisers in the early nineties which left Russia an impoverished wasteland with robber barons.

    1. Let’s get real here.
      (1) The USSR was an impoverished wasteland because that is the inevitable result of 70 years of centralised control of the economy. Socialism does this Every. Single. Time.
      (2) The Cold War ended BECAUSE the USSR was so impoverished that it could not keep up with the West economically, technologically and militarily…. well before it started taking any advice from anywhere the other side of the Iron Curtain.
      (3) The “Robber Barons” were the same people who were running the Communist Party, through the same network of cronies and corruption. The only thing that really changed was the names on the paperwork as they “bought” for token sums, the industries that they had been running all along.

      1. You seem to miss out everything after the nineties when the economy grew and diversified and doing business required fewer bribes and an awful lot of the oligarchs found themselves exiled in London and elsewhere. Hilariously they’ve had their assets confiscated in the current fit of virtue signalling
