  1. Today, for probably the first time, I got up feeling really, really old. Like the dreams were done – no point in chasing them any more. Similar to a student entering High School, knowing that the final push was on for an ever-closer graduation, I saw my own “graduation” from this earth as a nearer event than I had realized. So what to do? Do I simply shuffle off into the darkness? Then I read this – and there is still one more battle to fight (as the obscure song says). Please, Lord, for the sake of those precious grandbabies, may I go down swinging, and standing up for what is True.

  2. Hey Bud, life is too short to be so unhappy without doing something about it and too long to be so miserable without human warmth and joy from some damn thing right here on earth.

We can all be people of earth but not what a bunch of authoritarian imbeciles claim to want us to be.

We can’t willingly commit suicide, now can we? and call ourselves moral beings?

  3. Never forget that the bodyguards/security protecting these people are not their friends, they are employees, armed employees, and can turn on the proverbial dime.

    1. Just watch Game of Thrones and you will see what happens when the great unwashed turn on their “masters”.

      1. Don’t watch TV, but I do recall the villagers with pitchforks and flaming torches descending upon Dr. Frankenstein’s castle.

(Also visited a little museum in Timisoara, Romania, and heard all about Ceausescu’s undoing.)

  4. What a frightening comment thread. I never read people talking like this, but I do hear them talk like this in person. I thought it had to do with fresh air and the foliage of the trees in the ravines of the West Don rivershed.

Perhaps a well written letter to your local newspaper would help you feel better. A strongly worded comment left on your parlimentarians voice mail at their riding office? Of course, the award winning journos are readily accessible through e-mail. Other than that, shut up.

    1. Always love your sarcasm, Fenris.
Yes, I have marched in Ottawa, joined in at Coutts, marched in Calgary, and made appointments and sat down with journos to go over things. (Figured they would just delete emails once they realized what side of the Narrative I was on.)
I do not pretend to know what others who frequent this site are doing or not doing, but I believe that many are doing far more than just talking or typing.
And nothing has changed – yet.
But this VDH article does put some fire back in the belly. I hope it does for others, too.
Think of Poland, Hungary, or Czechoslovakia – it took years in their cases.
Our enemies never quit, so neither should we.
To paraphrase a famous saying – they fight because they hate what stands in front of them – we fight because we love what stands behind us.

    2. Actually, the one way is to write to someone in parliament that is interested in the affairs of men.
Writing to the local MP is like throwing peas against wall, the guy is a seat warmer even though he is so called ‘Conservative’ he is 100%, utterly useless in dealing with simplest things.
Told him that Sheerer had to go, him being a seat warmer, he replied with complete nothingness.
As it is, there is small and no chance to replace him, the apparatchiks of the ‘Party’ have the lock on.
That’s the way it’s working today.
      Don’t rock the boat man.

  5. Living where I do, I straddle the elite-deplorable divide … I don’t consider myself an elite (nor does my bank book) … but I live with and among them. I live in their peaceful and beautiful suburban enclave because I bought smart and sacrificially decades ago at the start of my career. I work for the elite. I work for my neighbors. However, I work for (mostly) the competently educated and competent professional class. The Doctors, Lawyers, Tech Executives who actually DELIVER what their college degrees suggest they should.

But I am also surrounded by highly paid INCOMPETENT public employees. Government “workers” who now “earn” gigantic $6-figure salaries here in the ‘flush’ State of CA. The City Manager of my “city” with a pop. of 25,000 “earns” well over $300k in total compensation and the Head Planner a mere $250k. Over the past 30 years, the government salaries have spiraled totally out of all reason or logic. We were told that public salaries “needed” to keep pace with private salaries in order to attract talent. Well … the public sector (read: incompetent sector) salaries have far eclipsed the private sector salaries. And don’t get me started on the government pensions … the gigantic Uuuge eye-watering $6-figure pensions … spiked pensions … at the “retirement” age of 50.

The incompetent class have now LOOTED the taxpayer coffers with impunity. And they’re hiring MORE of them. 87,000 MORE spiked Federal salaries and pensions at the IRS alone. The larger and wealthier the incompetent, lazy, government sector gets … the less likely we will ever reverse the trend. We are hurtling toward a Soviet-styled collapse. The collapse of a competent society under the burden of a top-heavy bureaucrat class of fools.

  6. Quite frankly I don’t understand the exorbitant use of the word incompetent in the article?
    Root cause is not incompetence.

  7. What a great read. Although a long article that covered much, I found myself pondering just how much evil ‘elitist malfeasance’ he didn’t even get to.

    Good point, MikeRoA.

    1. And Australia. And New Zealand. And France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sri Lanka, and Ghana, and the list goes on.

  8. That was an excellent and very valid VDH read, and most of the comments were also excellent and very valid!

    For all of us,
this war by the elite trash against us, is the most existential threat we have collectively ever faced!
If not now, when…..when? When do we stand up and take the fight to them, and ensure this never happens again!
