  2. Not to be too cold-heartedly pragmatic, but you also have to look at which lives were saved, and which were lost. Generally speaking, it seems that the vaccines may have largely saved people who were at risk, I.e., older, less healthy; while those who were killed may have been largely younger and otherwise healthier folks. All lives are equally valuable, but again, if you’re making pragmatic decisions as a government, presumably you’d want to take the steps that would protect national productivity and recovery, rather than lock down and destroy the productive to “protect” (or in too many cases, all but exterminate) the infirm.
    The pandemic response in the west, and in Canada in particular, will in time be seen as the biggest public policy disaster in history.

    2. Well when you look at the metric of life years lost, the COVID response was an absolute disaster to be sure. An 18 year old who dies means 64 years of life lost. The death of someone who is say 79 means 1 year lost.

      The jabs did not save lives. What they have done, is spread out the time period of all cause deaths, both Covid (jabbed) and “unknown” cause of death, from young adults just dropping dead, for no reason, in abnormally large numbers.

    5. Where’s your evidence that the vaccines saved anyone? Because of the way the provinces measure the unvaccinated a whole lot of people who were old and fragile died BECAUSE they got injected with the vax.

      React or die from the vax days 0-13 you get counted as COVID in the unvaccinated. I’ve seen the figures when you correct for that little public health sleight of hand and most people who died from the vax did so in the first 72 hours but were counted as COVID in the unvaxxed.

      The vax was a poison and likely didn’t save anyone.

    1. My post had links in it to things like the Mayo Clinic and John Hopkins, as I like to back up my viewpoints with sound research when I can.

            This estimate shows VAERS under reporting at about 41X. So your 1/75,000 becomes 41/75,000. (That’s the highest under reporting rate I’ve seen.) That rounds out to about 1/2000. The Germans have officially admitted to 1/5000 serious adverse effects from the vax PER DOSE. 1/5000 myocarditis is what Ontario’s health minister reported for healthy young men. Germany’s largest health insurer Techniker Krankenkasse, reports as many as 1 in 500 covid vaccine injections are expected to cause serious side effects requiring medical care. So your Lancet study is pretty thin on the ground.

            Also note who funded the Lancet study. Oh, the CDC. Gosh golly no conflict of interest there.

          2. Do you have anything published in a scientific journal? There are a million ways do-it-yourselfers can screw up the analysis. Scientific journals expose papers to the full glare of hundreds or thousands of experts in the field.

            The link you gave would never be published in a peer-reviewed journal, as it makes massive assumptions left, right, and centre, all in the direction of the result they want. It can not rightly be called science. The under-reporting analysis alone is wild.

            And this is the problem I constantly see amongst those who trying to claim that the vaccine is killing people at a huge rate. The quality of the arguments and analysis are shoddy at best.

        3. You do realize that “creditable” means approved by the same sources pushing the vaccine? Anyone who tries to publish anything these official sources don’t want out there gets rejected or if it does manage to sneak through peer review in a journal with a honest editor, the upper echelons pull it. Elsevier is the worst but certainly not the only company suppressing peer reviewed science that makes the vaccine look bad.

            There are many peer-reviewed journals out there, and editors tend to be rather independent minded. They do NOT all sing from the same songbook.

            Further, there are peer-reviewed papers that have pointed out side effects to the vaccines. The J&J vaccine was withdrawn when it was discovered it could produce blood clots. A research community that was in the pockets of the big pharma would never have brought such problems to light.

I’m guessing you haven’t been keeping up with the British Medical Journal’s reporting on fraud in science then or their commentary on how poorly peer review works and how Big Pharma influences physicians or on how many vaccine related articles published in Elsevier Journals were retracted at the highest levels over the objections of the journal editor and the authors.

            And then there is the really big one where Pfizer admitted in court they committed fraud but it was okay because the government was in on the fraud. Of course that admission wasn’t peer reviewed. It was just stated in a court of law so we can ignore that.

            And that’s where most of the arguments against vaccines seem to come from.
