Dr. Deborah Birx, who served in the Trump administration as part of the Covid response team, has admitted in her book and before Congress that much of the guidance issued to mitigate the pandemic was arbitrary. In her book Silent Invasion, she discusses the planning that went into an essential component of the strategy to handle Covid, one that has been roundly mocked: two weeks to stop the spread. The data used to back it up was from other countries, and Birx intentionally obfuscated her intentions for a robust lockdown.

Birx writes in her book, she writes about assembling a team that she could “trust” to “look at the numbers and provide unvarnished analysis free from a hidden or political agenda. There would be no groupthink within my inner circle.” But after deciding to trust the data, Birx noted that the “CDC didn’t have the demographic data [she] was looking for. Worse, the data it did have would never help paint an accurate picture of this pandemic outbreak.” […]

Despite not having adequate data, Birx pushed ahead with her plans to convince Trump and his advisors to go along with her mitigation plans. She writes that in March 2020, she met with the President, and her plan was to obfuscate her intentions for economic shutdowns, knowing that Trump was wary of anything that would tank the economy he had worked so hard to build.

“I couldn’t do anything that would reveal my true intention,” she writes, “to use the travel ban as one brick in the construction of a larger wall of protective measures we needed to enact very soon.” Trump’s team was more concerned about the impacts and potential for loss of lives to Americans of shutting society down. She blasts the administration for their concerns over the economy, concerns which have played out in real time to the point where the country could be facing devastating impacts, as is the globe.

In addition to the massive levels of public support he still has, the precedent of jailing your political opponents is something most Americans would not accept. Also, the question of Biden getting in becsuse of a stolen election is not yet settled. New evidence of a massive cheat continues to emerge. Arresting Trump would put this issue on the front burner, and Dems cannot afford that.

I’ve long given-up on the thought of edifying any of them – they’re CBC-lovers who RANT about “why-hasn’t-Trudeau-brought-in-UBI-yet?”, and they proudly posted pictures on Facepalm about being near-first in line to get their young/toddlers vaxxed. Yep, they’re hopeless, and I know from years of bashing my head against the wall that they “have trouble with picture-math” so they don’t understand the graphs I post that illustrate global warming to be the farce it is (read: “they don’t believe, so the graphs (and I) are WRONG!!!”), and that they instantly, reflexively form the opposite opinion to anything I tell them.   7. Further to the previous comment, I heard the lengthy interview of Dr. Scott Atlas by Megyn Kelly. He mentioned that every other person on the Covid Task Force, including Birx, came to every meeting completely unprepared. So she and the rest of them were just winging it. Nothing was based on data or science … or even a modicum of professionalism.

    The only thing that surprises me is that it has taken two years for these facts to be presented to the normies.

    The politicians have an extreme need to be liked. They are by nature narcissists.
    Originally, they are interested in doing good and be praised for it. To be praised being the main reason for being there. As far as that goes, if there is no harm done, they can satisfy their little minds with a little praise. The funny part, as the meme goes, any praise even for being stupid is a plus and satisfy the ego.
    In the case of Wuhan flu, they, the politicians, would not know what to do on their own if their life depended on it. So they go to ‘experts’, any ‘expert’ will do in so far as a politician can go along with that. The importance of being right is not a requisite for a politician. The first a politician calculates is that he/she/it is doing something, anything, however bass ackward it is. Politician will justify whatever it is, right or wrong with a long and winging yap.
    Then the mass media comes in. They decide what is right and what is wrong, the selected meme will prevail. Rightness of wrongness does not come in for consideration. The media cartel has the power, they own the mouthpiece and shut up those that don’t agree. The china one child policy and in India mass sterilization had been the result of his ideology.     1. She is still screwing them out there, but I get the impression that a lot of lawsuits are in the works. My daughter (forced out of work for refusing the vax), still is not working, and — as you might expect– it is increasingly difficult.
