I think they have tried this stunt too many times. The hearings are much too remniscent of ” Russian collusion,” and the unwarranted impeachment efforts. We now all get that this is a game Dems play for political gain. I am glad things are backfiring this time. We have also seen the inertia and indifference to destructive attacks by BLM, Anfifa. Jan 6 was tepid by comparison.
We have also recently witnessed the media and political indifference to the Clinton campaign involvement in trying to undermine a sitting President with their Russia collusion fairy tale, and their indifference to the unlawful involvement of the FBI. Enough already. We are fed up with these efforts to undermine Trump and the will of the American people. The effectiveness of this ” show trial” depends on people believing that the election was not stolen. Lots of Americans still think it was.
More and more Americans KNOW it was stolen.
I think they’ve cried wolf once too often.

I TOTALLY disagree with this take on the January 6th Committee. It was always (and remains) about intimidation. Free speech always (and should) have consequences. If you say something stupid, people consider you stupid. If you say something enflaming….people consider you excitable. You always had the consequences of refusing to support artists, actors and politicians financially.
BUT… now there are legal consequences of free speech. And, THIS, is what the January 6th Committee is all about. They have been demonstratively successful as well. How many people are afraid to say what is on their mind due to repercussions beyond opinion? Canada is making the use of unwanted pronouns illegal for pete’s sake.
Then there is the “Uniparty” aspect of this. How do you get Republicans to go along with this nonsense? Well, you threaten them with being the target of the act. Most take the path of least resistance. Those who don’t (Greene, Navarro etc) get yanked in front of the Committee and threatened with criminal charges.
This isn’t about gaining or gaining back voters in upcoming elections. They already have proven they can put whomever they want in office regardless of the vote. This Committee is to get YOU TO SHUT THE HELL UP and go along with everything they want.

Are you MORE or LESS likely to speak your mind in public today as compared to five (5) years ago?
Are you More or Less likely to believe anything from Government today as compared to 5 years ago?

It’s funny. I came to the same conclusion after reports of the second night of the Jan6 hearings. It’s impeachment all over again. Their worst nightmare would be Trump running again and winning.
Even funnier? They run HER again … and SHE loses … again.

They sold Jan 6 as the worse thing since September 11 and/or Pearl Harbor – I forget which – and then rather than footage of planes flying into buildings or battleships on fire they give us… middle aged people walking between the ropes, people taking selfies and a guy with horns.
Doesn’t even reach the ‘Mostly Peaceful’ level of burning buildings.
To be honest they would have been better off just telling us that ‘Bad Things’ happened. Many people these days skim the click bait headlines, remember the key words, and move on. If you asked a significant percentage of the population they would have just copy/pasted the headline they had read and agreed with ‘the narrative’.
