  1. Bubba : “Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it.”

  2. I stopped following political panels, so called experts and most of the media. They are boring and irrelevant. Canada political life is a frozen dogma: CPC are Nazi racists, NDP are underappreciated do gooders, Liberals are… let’s go back CPC.

  3. I’d argue she’s worried about PP winning.

Not sure why, the party are merely blue-tie Liberals, unworthy of my support or my vote.

  4. Lib calculus might be a snap election in Oct before PP has a chance to soften his persona for wider appeal, and to pull over Jag voters who have had it with his idiocy.

  5. Hebert is a communist. My wife is French. She is shocked at the difference in what she says to French audiences vs us jarhead anglos.

    1. Ward, I’m not shocked about this revelation of yours but I – and I assume many other SDA readers – would love to hear/see some examples, thanks.

  6. She can’t do real prostitution (never did, have a look at her face and you’ll see why) so she’s doing media whoring, presstitution.

    1. If she was a real streetwalker, she would be paying the Johns to stay in business.

What a ghastly frog that is.

As noted above, I do not listen to “political panels” on any MSM channel anymore, not for a long time. Almost always, it’s a gang of far leftists, giving the same opinion, but all are a different minority or race.

Same message, different background. See, We All Agree!

  7. RN
Nope, WEF wants to run the “Carbon tax for 4 full years”, and that is why the last election , unscheduled, happened!
they feel, once installed it will be easy to maintain, and with Canadian voters, they are probably correct on that assumption.

  8. She’s writing these articles to build a resume,,, strong enough, to be chosen as a panel participant, in the next Federal election debate.

  9. Today’s Star has two major articles about the Threat of Trump and “Trumpism.” They are clearly trying to tie Pierre and Donald together.

The obvious problem is that people not suffering from terminal Trump Derangement Syndrome clearly see that Trump’s policies were better for the nation than Biden’s. Biden is under water on the economy, inflation, foreign policy, law and order, border policy and even education.

    1. And at Torstar:
‘Pierre ‘spars’ with Mendicino over EMO.’
The headline should be Mendecino lies abot EMO.

    2. Post-modern Canada is saturated with the irrational fear and hatred of anything and anyone American. People even reach their children to hate Americans.

Recently, the Americans developed a method of treating cancer that was highly successful. Would you like to bet that Health Canada will never allow it in the country for some paltry, simple-minded reason?

Politics are no different. Trump was good for business. Assuming Pollievre wins and ditches the yes-man aspects and focuses only on economic matters, he will be compared to Trump because only Americans pay rent or fill their cars with gas. Canadians really are that stupid that they would destroy the economy so as not to be one of those star-spangled heathens.

        1. More stupid than Democrats.

Who lets a loser like Trudeau determine their lives?

  10. I’m worried about Poilievre too, especially after his foray into flogging Bitcoin; but he’s the only runner who I’ve seen excoriating the Liberals time-and-time again; and his “Where’s the money going to come from?” vid’ was worth the price of admission on its own.

    – Leslyn Lewis? She shows-up at every leadership convention, never between them; and her answers to questions, and the questions themselves, are only too obviously pre-scripted sound bites. She’s a woman, but so is Hitlery – what else does she have to offer the country?

    – John Charest? Isn’t he the guy who quit the PC’s and joined the provincial Liberals so he could be Premier of Quebec, then made everybody call him “Jean” so Quebeckers would vote for him? Now there’s a guy who blatantly cares only about himself and his own power and prestige, and the Con’s just threw-out a leader like that; why would we vote-in another one? And what chance would he have, especially as we have a Prime Minister who’s just like that already?

    – The rest? Buncha’ Joe Who’s; faceless nonentities who nobody’d ever heard-of before the campaign began, and nobody’ll ever hear-of again after it ends. Prove me wrong…

    1. With the CPC ranking system to vote for leader, this is a real possibility, despite Charest’s obvious corruption and sliminess. Is that a word? It fits.
So, yes, both Max and the Pink Fuhrer would be winners if that snake manoeuvred a win.
Who knows in that scenario, Poliviere could legitimize Max and join the PPC, instant credibility. And it would teach the CPC a HARSH LESSON.
Charest won’t beat Trudeau, Quebec hates him, and the west views him as a traitorous Quebecer. Dead in the water. He’s not even close to “hold your nose” territory. My only efforts for Charest would be to fart in his general direction.

      1. The first CPC general meeting (which was of course held in Montreal) modified the leader election rules at Peter McKay’s request to weight every riding equal. That was a mistake from the start. Later CPC decided to exempt sitting MPs from having to defend their record and giving them auto re-nomination: another big mistake.

What would be horrible for CPC is if PP gets +50% of votes on first ballot but loses the contest to Charest.
If that unfolded, it would be hard for PP and a number of CPC MPs not to go sit as PPC.

  11. I noticed the red star and the sun have gotten so small that they look like junk mail.. Dirty fingers and yesterdays news.. The legacy media really is dead when all it offers is opinions that can be had for free elsewhere.. They get their news from the same place we do, social media..

Translating English into English for those not willing to do the math.. Not so much changing opinions as courting opinions already held.. They call this editorial stance.. I call it feeding the livestock.. Then one day something changed.. We went from a nation that was expanding into a nation that is feeding on itself.. Globalism rendered our politicians useless on a national level.. They now boycott and sanction us instead of other nations.. Same government method of operation turned back on us.. Just how do you report this truth to the people on this? You don’t.. We simply don’t need pre-globalism government anymore.. Its outdated and the main reason why racism, gender issues and climate change have been elevated to our highest offices.. They have nothing positive to do anymore..

A dead legacy media is a given under these circumstances..

Trudeau funding these welfare cases is not a helping hand.. Our liberals have adopted them.. They have moved back into mom and dads house where they came from.. Just how, a bunch of horse and buggy failures can lecture me on matters that have nothing to do with them anymore.. Sell outs sticking free pizza pockets in their pie holes..

  12. Maybe she’s coming on to him, as Pierre is the only thing on her mind, clearly !
Women from the left desire conservative men as they get the job in ALL ways. It’s primal, so rock on if you carry stones guys.

  13. “Daniel Savoie, a spokesperson at the Ministry of Heritage, said the objective of the emergency fund is to provide additional relief to organizations struggling with operation viability because of the pandemic. The ministry published guidelines for news outlets containing eligibility criteria. Any news outlet that met this criteria could receive funding.

“A free and independent press is a cornerstone of democracy,” said Savoie. “It is important that Canadians continue to have access to a variety of news sources and that the broadcasting system is an important source of news for many Canadians.” ”

You’ll find better logic in Alice In Wonderland.
Media Dependent On Government Funding ≠ Independent Media.
The words dependent and independent are not synonyms.

    1. I lost the plot in that statement.

There is something about a press whose viability depends on government handouts that doesn’t come across as independent.

      1. You can’t expect journalists to understand the meaning of words and stuff…..that would require years of specialized training!

You’ve got to remember that these are just simple liberals. These are people of the Ottawa swamp. The common clay of the progressive left.
        You know… morons.

  14. Canadian media, culture and content may be the most boring, biased and predictable anti-intellectual, government-approved mush on the face of the planet.

  15. A one trick pony blessed with a face for radio and who along with a raft of other enlightened media types have lucrative side gigs at the CBC and where Andrew Coyne has taken on the role of providing the “conservative” perspective. Try and wrap your head around that.

    1. Coyne provides the Central Bankers’ seal of approval. All Central bankers are the ones who get away with it.

    2. Coyne the “conservative”.. tis to laugh…

Coyne has advocated people vote, Turdhole, then NDp, then Green, the last 3 elections… very principled conservative.

The only thing that truly “terrifies ” and ” angers ” chinless Andy is a London Hotel charging $16 for an Orange juice, he really hates Orange juice prices and the price Hotels in London England charge for a glass of it.

Coyne believes that the price of Orange juice as set by a London Hotel kitchen manager will ultimately seal the future fate of Canada as a nation… he’s that smart.

Coyne of course is not in the least bit concerned with the tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars that are wasted away keeping Basic Dickhole supplied with endless amounts of Russian Vodka… he’s an Orange juiceaphobe I guess… besides being a useless semi literate tool of the State.

  16. She (he?) is building a case for a Senate or Governor General appointment, with the most relevant requirements – hates conservatives and speaks french.

  17. I remember reading Truong Nhu Tang’s “A Vietcong Memoir”. They ramped up the US lefty propaganda machine to disparage the bombing of the Ho Chi Minh trail as a waste of effort — because the bombings were absolutely slaughtering them. I’d put Chantal’s comments in the same category. What is she disparaging in the Conservatives? Fine; more of the same please. Go PP.

  18. Is she still a Fellow of the Trudeau Foundation?
Certainly a member of Telford’s rollodex of tame journalists.
There is a good reason for her being anti Pierre. If Pierre gets in and stops the media funding, or even switches it to non-liberal government friends, then the Star goes bankrupt. She is fighting for her job.
I am disappointed that one reply indicated that she has one line in English and one in French. At one time she had some credibility.

  19. But does she sell newspapers ? I think it’s just bird cage liners or puppy training at it’s best.

  20. With that much angst from such an obvious left winger that will be reason enough to vote Polievre. Other reasons would include that he’s a constant thorn in the side of ‘dear leader’ and that he’s the best of the lot.
