Until recently, I was a director of data science at Thomson Reuters, one of the biggest news organizations in the world. It was my job, among other things, to sift through reams of numbers and figure out what they meant.
About a year ago, I stumbled on a really big story. It was about black Americans being gunned down across the country and the ways in which we report on that violence. We had been talking nonstop about race and police brutality, and I thought: This is a story that could save lives. This is a story that has to be told.
But when I shared the story with my coworkers, my boss chastised me, telling me expressing this opinion could limit my ability to take on leadership roles within the company. Then I was maligned by my colleagues. And then I was fired.

This is endemic. It is everywhere. I spent the last year in ‘conversations’ with the board of my professional association, of which I was an honoree life member based on my contributions to the assn. over many years. I noted they were suddenly supporting BLM, inviting Phd’s in grievance specialties and ‘encouraging’ members to adopt personal pro-nouns. I and many of the long-term membership were aghast but the board and their ‘Diversity, Inclusion and Equity’ committee’s solution was to proclaim me a racist and a bigot to the nation-wide membership. I was brought before their ‘ethics committee’ via Zoom after which I was banishing from the organization with the proviso that I could apply again in twenty five years – when I would be 97!
I was tempted to call a lawyer due to the defamation and slander, but at my age I just can’t be bothered. There’s nothing they can do to me and I at least have apparently created a schism in the organization, with many long standing members revoking their membership out of disgust with their heavy handed ways.

On an average year, 18 unarmed black people and 26 unarmed white people are shot by police. By contrast, roughly 10,000 black people are murdered annually by criminals in their own neighborhoods.
Again … I ask WHY does a grocery store in a Buffalo, NY zip code of predominately black people require an ARMED security guard? What is it about a local culture that causes a GROCERY STORE to hire armed guards? Answer: 10,000 dead black people … kilt by black people.

Media “follows the Science” in the same way that Government “follows the Science.” Greta Thunberg is a world-renowned authority on climate, and the death knell for Western Society rang about 2014. The velocity of the decline is on the increase.

This problem goes well beyond the issue of race. There is a whole constellation of topics where only one side is deemed appropriate for public consumption. In one recent example many media sources promoted a flawed mathematical model claiming unvaxed were a greater danger for Covid transmission than vaxed. The claim was thoroughly debunked. Only the Epoch Times bothered to correct the misleading claim. All other ” reputable” news sources allowed the misleading information to stand.
