Kate’s Yankee Twin Sister Watches the Kentucky Derby!

Update from Kate: Not my twin sister. And Rich Strike wasn’t a “random horse” picked to fill out the field. He had earned 21 KD points from qualifying races and first on the also eligible list, and thus moved up and into the gate when Ethereal Road was scratched.

  1. She lost her credibility with me when she suggested that men use moisturizer. Real men don’t do that and they don’t eat quiche, either.

    1. I will apply a big dollop of moisturizer to my ass just before she kisses it. I will never buy Gillette products because they don’t like real men. I’m not sure what I think about her.

    2. BA

      Whats yer phobia with Quiche…LOL..?
I eat it, when offered as a snack…its simply good.
And am no girly man…that whole schtick is BS…and you know it.!

The race was exceptional…as was the jockey on Rich Strike. Just awesome..!!

As to this chick..whatever…? dime a dozen these days.

I remembered that book title from some 40 years ago. It was implied that men who ate quiche might turn out like a certain prime minister…..

  2. No one expected it?

Two people bet and hit the 4 horse Kentucky Derby Exacta at Canterbury Downs in MN. $360,000.00 each. They picked the top 4 horses in exact order of finish.

      1. Oh. I’m sorry. I’ve been living under Liberal governments and I have issues. I didn’t know that my ignorance of why her opinion was important was considered to be hateful anger. Is that that same as if I disagree with you I’m a racist?

  3. And Rich Strike’s mother was from Manitoba! A mare named Gold Strike.

  4. I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and inspite of her obvious errors, love her passion for horses/horse racing. That was a truly memorable two minutes +.

  5. rd – Selecting the top 4 finishers in order is called a Superfecta. It paid $314,080.90 if you bet out of Woodbine.
The Exacta, the top 2 finishers paid $4,101.20

  6. Just like her, I’ve watched that race several times and each time I giggle with glee. Watching the progression of the horse from back of the pack to first place is a pure joy every time. The jockey was outstanding and the horse answered every call. There may not be a triple crown this year but that race was the best thing I’ve seen in 2022.

  7. What an adorable young woman. I liked her excitement with the race, the tears (my family calls it the Irish curse), and the fact she calls herself a “horse girl”. I prefer my horses under the hood but way back in the day I was so thrilled to visit my parents’ friends who owned a ranch in Carson Valley, Nevada. They had the most beautiful horses and allowed me to ride their daughter’s palomino every time we were there. My sister was the real horse gal, but she was reticent about actually riding. Horses are large.
