  3. Well there goes the narrative. The bought and paid for media have been ranting the past few days, about an Islamophobic incident at a mosque in B.C. According to the CBC website, the two suspects are Muslim.

    1. Someone should tell Ottawa City Council; they want electric busses for I don’t know why.

      1. I saw an Edmonton Transit bus the other day and it looked like it was a battery-powered one as well. And to think that ETS used to have a city-wide electric bus system, with the vehicles drawing their power from overhead cables…..

        One problem with that system was that, apparently, the buses weren’t being made for years and, according to one story I heard, ETS had to get spare parts from South America.

  5. My thoughts on why our Canadian Banks are about to close I suspect it to be permanent but unsure what they will allow?
    Our politicians in their infinite wisdom over the decades has steered our economies to be a globalization system by their corruption of secret deals.
    Our politicians have ignored Canadian citizens concerns for decades even when we have our own home grown experts in their fields.
    Buying cheaper goods that take vastly more fossil fuels to ship these goods and products to Canada.
    Our Banks adjusted to this system of worldwide economic policies and developments with their exposure of investments.
    If you choose to ignore the mainstream media and look at data that our governments don’t want you to know or see, it differs substantially from what they are stating and invoking.
    The biggest economic driver is cheaper fossil fuels to keep the Canadian Economy going.
    With the higher cost of diesel fuel, farmers, truckers, ships, tankers, and air traffic all have hit the brick wall of too high in cost to operate or face bankruptcy.
    Another event is the Russian and Chinese Governments are breaking away from our current currency exchange of the US Dollars.

    It didn’t make sense to me when our government and politicians closed local industries for products that need to when a vastly greater distances and yet is cheaper than making the products on our own soil.
    Imposing hundreds of thousands of regulations, restrictions and laws on everything in our lives in Canada in the name of different causes for your safety.
    Our Banks are global and have regulations on what you own in them when they fail and it’s not much on these computer servers that are centralized.
    So, your Banks don’t actually have your data on site.

  8. Bill Browder (Red Notice) has a new book out. Browder was behind the passage of the Maginsky Act which has been adopted in many countries. His new book is getting positive coverage — and of course capitalizes the anti- Putin sentiment at the moment. According to Browder, Russia and Putin are evil and corrupt, but there’s another side to the story which does not get much attention in Western media. This article makes the case that Browder is a schemer and exploiter, stealing millions from Russia and that his original book is full of falsehoods. He has enough money to threaten anyone who challenges his story and successfully squelched a documentary which challenges his version of events. Good read:

    I have sent several requests to the Globe and Mail asking them to revisit this misleading research that claims unvaxed are greater transmitters, but they do not seem interested in correcting obvious misinformation. Like many MSM outlets, the Globe is only interested in promoting a narrative– honest reporting be damned.

      The Canadian media have a huge financial incentive to keep the cult panicked.

  12. My wife and I drove Rt 66 in 2013 but from Santa Monica to Chicago. It was interesting and we took our time doing the entire length in about 15 days. Most of it parallels I 40 or zig zags thru the desert states of Eastern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. It is a landscape of ghost towns and neon and gaudy, tacky sites such as the Cadillac Farm. That was quite the trip because on our return we stumbled through South Dakota and the Sturgis Motorcycle rally. Summer and fall of 2013 was some summer road trip I can tell you that. Ah, memories of a simpler era. I would do it again.

    2. jaymo, an old friend of mine drove it when it was mostly intact. He still talks about that trip as if it was yesterday. It took him and a buddy three weeks to get to CA. He said they did a lot of stops along the way.

  13. We need a word for the effect of inflation. There is too much talk of the rate of inflation as being inflation.

    2020-08-27: Jerome Powell said the Fed still believes that 2% inflation is the proper target.
    2021-09-29: Powell says the current spike in inflation won’t lead to new inflation. Calls inflation transitory.
    2021-11-30: Powell says the use of transitory may not be the best word to describe it.
    2022-03-01: Powell says inflation is much too high.
    2022-04-21: Powell says that the actual peak [in inflation] was in March [2022].

    Powell is referring to the rate of inflation – the amount by which prices are increasing year over year. But even as he wrestles the rate of inflation back down to an artificial 2%, the effect of inflation will remain for decades.
