Well, strictly speaking, Trudeau is not a socialist in the partisan sense. But, he is a socialist in that he believes the State should control society and individuals, a la Plato’s Republic, the very definition of a socialist state. He, of course, is to be one of the Philosopher Kings, the wise sages who have all the luxuries and benefits and tells the rest what beauty is.
The poltiical opposite of this is Liberty, as Libertarians and Conservatives know. This is why we are on the same side politically.

Don’t indigenous leaders realize that with the number of immigrants/refugees the Trudeau government is bringing into the country annually, that indigenous people (both treaty and non-treaty, Metis etc) will increasingly become irrelevant to the LPC? Currently there are just under 2 million people who claim indigenous heritage. In four short years, at 500,000 immigrants/refugees a year there will be as many new immigrants/refugees as the indigenous population and they will be crying out for programs and services. The obvious other factor to consider is that while new immigrants may find indigenous people and their culture interesting if it stops the immigrant community’s progress, indigenous cultures may be tossed overboard.
If I was an indigenous leader I would be having serious talks with Trudeau about fulfilling promises now as well as kicking up a holy stink about Trudeau’s immigration plans.

How about we stop all immigration, and I mean all. No one in for the next five years minimum, then we reevaluate as to whether or not we need a few more people. Then we balance our diversity with an equal number of white people with the total of all other ethnicities allowed to immigrate.
