      1. I’d be tempted to tell them I’m something like a rainbow sparkle unicorn, but, then, someone might think I’m not taking it seriously.

      1. I told them governments are evil and stated examples

For over an hour in short bullet form

    1. That poll is pure evil.

To participate you have to agree to support their claptrap.

I recommend that respondents provide input that demands action be taken against the hotbed of hate in the PMO.

I went in and offered “suggestions” and for the portions where they asked for reasons I used this statement

“What? You didn’t see the blackface?”
      And
      “Honk honk”

    2. I said that I do not support the government doing anything about “combating” hate is because it’s the government that drives it so they create programs that only interfere ever more into our lives.

        1. Not 100% home grown, to be pedantic. They’re an evolution of a russian missile.

    1. I posted comments below without reading yours. If she is out of action (sunk or not does not matter) russians just lost their only area defense capable vessel in the Black Sea fleet.

  1. Re: Conway and Korman:

From the golden age of TV. A 25 inch Zenith was most likely the largest screen available when that show was cast.

Today, we have 75 inches of screen, but nothing to watch, unless you like re-runs like this one.

    Thanks!!

    1. A few years ago, I watched Master and Commander on my father’s big-screen TV when that movie was shown on the old Encore Avenue cable channel. My reaction, particularly of the scene where Captain Aubrey is in the crow’s nest, was “Wow!”

I’d sure like to keep that set, but getting it to Edmonton could be tricky.

    2. And you can buy a 60″ TV for $600 American. My price point has always been $300. A 20″ Cathode Ray Tube, then 25″, then 31″ finally switching to a 32″ LCD, then a 42.” But like Joe Citizen says, there is not anything on TV or from Hollywood worth watching, so I have not bought a new TV in almost a decade.

      1. I mainly watch movies now, thanks to TCM and my collection of DVDs.

I guess the reason I’d like to keep the TV was because it belonged to my father, but practicality may overrule sentiment. If I tried to sell it, I’d be lucky if I got $100 for it now when he paid around $1500 more than a dozen years ago.

      2. I’m right there with you. There is nothing on television that is worth watching. Think I’ll spend the TV budget on another gun.

  2. There are several reports that a Siberian Mongol cruiser Moskva has been hit by Ukrainian shore launched missiles. Reports vary from “damaged”, to “burning uncontrollably” to “crew were told to abandon ship” so treat with a grain of salt for now. Either way if she has been seriously hit, she is out of action and possibly never to be repaired (given russian track record). This is by far the most powerful and valuable asset of the Black Sea Fleet. This can be huge because Moskva is the only warship in the Black Sea Fleet with area defense capability. There are other ships armed with surface to air missiles but those are short range self defense weapons. Without Moskva their navy is very vulnerable to aircraft and missile attacks. Moskva also carries the biggest guns of the Black Sea Fleet and arguably the only guns capable of shore bombardment.

    1. Referring to my earlier link to Wikipedia, the Moskva was commissioned nearly 40 years ago, taken out of service in 1990, and brought back in 10 years later.

It’s an old ship, which in itself would make it harder to repair. All it takes is some well-placed strikes and it would be out of action for good. If the details on that page are accurate, it was hit in its munitions bay, some of which exploded, which would make the ship a write-off.

Similar incidents occurred in the South Atlantic 40 years ago.

      1. She is old but she was somewhat modernized and refitted to what extent the process was finished I’ll leave to the experts. Either way the only area defense capable ship in the Black Sea Fleet and her twin 130mm gun packed one hell of punch for shore bombardment. Those tubes 4 twin on each side are anti ship missiles, her long range AA battery is in VLS launchers aft the funnels. I agree with you, If either area was hit and munitions ignited she is toast. And they have nothing to replace her with. And that, in turn, means that any landing near Odessa is now much less likely.

    2. It’s well known that Russian naval ships have very poor fire control.

Expect a response. Hopefully Russia sends bombers and they get shot down. I’m not sure how though. The only option I know of fighters and those are extremely vulnerable at higher altitudes and the bombers would be escorted.

      1. They send bombers where? Those launchers have since relocated many times over.

The biggest fallout from this is that those Alligators and Ropuchas caring marines for amphib assault will be easy pickings. This is a strategic loss for the Siberians and one they have no way of replacing.

      2. So it looks like they have actually sunk her not just knocked her out. This is spectacular. Not only a strategic loss but a major black eye for the Siberians.

I may be wrong here, but I think the last time a bigger warship was lost in combat at sea her name was Yamato. This is so awesome.

        1. I bet it was a total loss either way, but the symbolic nature of it sinking is powerful.

          1. Can’t wait for Lavrov to declare that she hasn’t sunk but instead has been converted to a new experimental submarine.

Ukrainians: Ruskij voyenyj korabl: idi na chuj
            Siberians: Tak tochno

    1. Another attempt to undermine our country’s sense of nationhood. I think people need to think about what happens when they succeed in destroying nation states. The promotion of aboriginal perspectives is fostered by the push to globalism. We need to consider how to move forward without destroying our national identity. CBC does not seem interested in that.

      1. We never had a national identity. Back in the ’60’s HS English we studied a treatise by some Canadian author that posited the national identity of Canada was the fact that Canada had no national identity.

    1. Not enough.

Burn Front St and every outlet to the ground.

      Salt the earth.

Post warning signs about the dangers of Liberal Communism.

Expectorate whenever the $%^&*^#$@ CBC is mentioned.

Raise monument explaining the *^%#$^*& CBC, peak Canadian Stupidity and the importance of Never Again.

  3. Well, I was trying to post a link to a graph that clearly showed inflation starting long before the Ukraine conflict, but after hitting “Post Comment” 3 separate times & no new post shows, I’m assuming there’s an issue with the website addy?

    1. Yes, my posts have been getting shitcanned as well lately, somethings going on.
Not being erased, just fail to post.

      1. Happened to me when I attempted to post a link from a non western news site, disputing certain “facts”
Just fails to post. And it was the link because a link from YouTube I posted immediately afterwards, did post successfully.
Perhaps Kate’s span blockers ate it. That’s my guess.

  4. Moskva Sunk

In a statement, Russian military department said: “During the towing of the Moskva cruiser to the port of destination, due to damage to the hull received during the fire from the detonation of ammunition, the ship lost stability,”

“In the conditions of stormy seas, the ship sank.”
