    2. Earlier this evening, I watched the Korean war movie you recommended a few days ago. It wasn’t as good as I expected.

      For a good Korean war film, based on actual events shortly before the ceasefire, I suggest Pork Chop Hill with Gregory Peck, Martin Landau, George Peppard, Harry Guardino, and Robert Blake. It’s been shown on TCM from time to time, and doesn’t appear to be available on YouTube.

        1. I looked up 71: ITF on IMDB. Some of the comments were harsher than mine.

          As for TOH, it’s based on a novel written by two authors who served during WW II, so the movie was based on their personal experiences. In addition, a number of the characters were based on actual people.

    1. One aspect that’s disturbing about her case is that she’s not allowed to know the identity of one of her accusers. The reason that she may “get even” is flimsy at best.

      That’s something which, I believe, is (was?) guaranteed by the Constitution (yeah, yeah–I know….). That would allow her to not only know what is alleged about her, but provides an opportunity for her to give her account.

      There’s clearly an objective here.

      1. The most disturbing aspect is that two people, one an admitted activist marxist, have opined that she “may not be able” to provide care for so called “trans people”. The regulator claims that its role is to ensure that the public is protected but neither of the two vicious creeps have been patients of hers, and there have been no complaints from patients who have received care from this woman.

    1. That is an amazing video. I used to ride a bike, I raced motocross, downhill skied over much of western Canada and the U.S. But I never did anything like those guys in the video. Some of them must have a death wish. But what great video!

    If a transexual man (now a woman) believes she is female, are we obligated to agree because a) we are being polite or b) because it is true? It is an important distinction. If I met a transexual I would treat her as a woman out of respect to her, regardless of my personal feelings on the subject. But it begs the question – is she really a woman?

    What if I run into a person who thinks she is a giraffe, or an alien? How would a transexual treat that person, assuming they genuinely thought they were an alien, or a giraffe? I read about a guy who thought he was King Edward.

    Does trans-sexuality end at the male/female transformation or does it have no boundaries? My personal feeling is the man (now a woman) is not a woman but should be treated as a woman out of respect. But then I am forced to treat the woman as a giraffe and the alien as King Edward and it puts me into an endless spiral of pretend.

The death rate was up substantially in 2020 and 2021 with the 2 main increases due to influenza-pneumonia and diabetes (both causes up over 12%). But cancers were down over the same time period. Why are all the diabetes sufferers dying during the covid epidemic?
