  1. And here I thought that they were afraid that the ship might go “Honk! Honk!” with its horn.

Rebel News’s Sheila Gunn Reid describes people like that as “fun burglars”.

    1. The cruising passengers will all completely ignore the “eco” protesters. Ignore them. Treat them as though they are a speck of dust … or a tissue to be discarded

  2. Kind of ironic and hypocritical that residents of the City that poops in the ocean, and has for many years, are now concerned with the environment.

    1. I’m surprised they’re not protesting BC reinstating cut lines, access roads, controlled burns and other fire prevention measures.

    2. There’s a just completed modern treatment system, at great expense of course, that eliminates that former issue now. Except for Oak Bay, that uses a century old twin storm drain/sewage system, that overflows during storms, in the manholes, and then flows into the ocean untreated.
By the way, there was never any contamination under the original system, deep sea outfalls have been proven to be effective dispersal systems without issue. Only modern “worry about everything” environmentalists forced this expensive system to be built.
Unlike lakes, deep sea outfalls work well, and do not cause issues, unlike smaller bodies of water, like lakes, that easily get contaminated.

      1. “dispersal”

So toxic sewage can be dumped, untreated, into the ocean because the ocean is essentially TOO BIG to be overcome.

If that is the case, then why do we have to ban plastic?

  3. Oh goodie. The brain damaged cretins of Extinction Rebellion. I wish they’d put their logic to the test and off themselves.

  4. I trust they will be told to fock uff and be arrested for sudry offences..

  5. I approve this, let the final destruction of the tourism industry (and BC’s economy) started by John Horgan and Bonnie Henry continue.

    1. Yes, more and more socialism is the Utopia they desire, and those of the voters and pollsters, that keep telling us that Whoregan is the most loved premier in the country, and that lying, deceitful, emotionally crippleld harridan ST Bonnie of Henry, has saved the world from Covid.

According to dear Bonnie, Covid behanves completely differently under her leadership, than anywhere else in the world, and has saved us all from ourselves. This, according to Comrade Adrian Dix, and the socialist CCP head of the BC College of Physicians, who tell us over and over how “safe and effective” their clot shots are. They remind us that anyone opposing the jabs are enemies of the state and delusional.

This is the state of BC today

      1. This is the state of BC today

I take it that the earth tremors in that part of the country are a result of old Wacky and Mini-Wac Bennett rolling in their graves.

        1. It’s surreal how quickly this province changed from a Free Enterprise bastion, to MOAR socialism!
Gordo Campbell and Krusty Clark greased the transition to socialism without pause.

          1. One would have thought that B. C. had learned its lesson by now after 50 years of experimenting off and on with socialism. But noooooo! Lotusland keeps electing the Dippers……

          2. I did business in BC for decades and it was always a socialist bastion as far as I was and am concerned.

  6. BC is a microcosm of the rest of Canada and where we are headed . You vote for Green Freaks and this is what you get . The so called education system and the whore media have all done their part so lets all hang on and enjoy the ride . It’s not that we did not see this coming .

    1. Bancouver

Intentional typo? Either way, it’s an apt description of that part of the country.

      1. In the 20 years we’ve been in Victoria, much has changed. It has become the ultra, Uber-greenie socialist centre of the world. Politically, the City of Vic is the worst example, with the District of Saanich close behind. Oak Bay has changed from a conservative stronghold, to Uber greenie, re-electing that atrocious cat Lizard several times. My how this region has changed.
James Bay, located behind the legislature and oceanfront Dallas Rd, embodies the socialist Greentard mindset of the region, wanting all the benefits of modern society, while decrying all its perceived wrongs, and expecting everything to be rainbows, ice cream and honey.
They hate the cruise ships, yet, they employ thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the region. They hate the traffic on their area, yet they want all amenities close by for their elite tastes. Entitled, entitled, entitled.
We are planning our departure from the region, we’ve benefited from sky high house values and it’s time to cash in. Okanagan? Southern Alberta? Canmore? Mexico? One of those will be our permanent move, as staying forever in this region, will be a recipe with more and more taxes, and deep, ingrained socialism that will never get better.
The homeless drug infested losers are more welcome here than any other group.

        1. “Okanagan? Southern Alberta? Canmore? Mexico?”

Okanagan? Pretty country, but still stuck in expensive, restrictive BC. Forest fires.
Southern Alberta? Possibly. Colder winters, can be windy, but that also brings your chinooks in winter. Your urban experience can vary a lot, depending on where you settle. Close to the mountains, close to the bald-assed prairie, close to a foreign country, close to a major center (Calgary). Having lived in SA all my life, I’m biased. I like it. When the border isn’t locked down, the States offer lots of places to explore.
Camore? Pretty country, fairly touristy, lots of current development, but lots of stuff to do if you’re outdoorsy. Starting to get expensive.
Mexico? Opens up your freedom, but can bring a host of 3rd world issues.

          $0.02

          1. Yeah, pretty much nails it. Not a perfect world, though a 10MT warhead detonating over Ottawa would brighten my day.

  7. Meanwhile the police in Victoria have roadblocks in place preventing any freedom convoy vehicles entering James Bay where the parliament buildings are. I’m guessing greentards are allowed.

  8. Sounds like counseling mischief to me.
Freeze their bank accounts, send in the Mounted Goons to repeat the charge of the LGBT Brigade.
Trample the women and children first.

  9. Never get why places cater to cruise ships. I always think the Chamber of Commerce of whatever city grossly inflates their tourist impact. Cruise ships are pseudo-tourists. They’re living on a hotel with all the amenities so their expenditures at ports of call are generally not for hotels or restaurants. More for T-shirts, souvenirs, and whatever tourist spot they are bussed to. Now when somebody goes to Vegas, they get a room, are in the city for some days and spend bucks. That’s tourism.

    1. Downtown Victoria is all about tourism, which used to employ thousands in the hotel, restaurant and various tourism industries.
      It is HUGE in Victoria.
      That’s why.
You have no idea how much of an impact the cruise ships have.
Now, the challenge is, for those employers to find employees that will work, once again at those jobs. CERB and it’s graduate, have eliminated the need for a work ethic. Free money is more attractive than listening to dumb tourists. There’s already a shortage of worker for $17/hr in BC, I don’t know where these employers will all of a sudden find thousands of workers, when Trudeau pays people to stay home, smoke dope and hang out protesting everything.

      1. CERB and it’s graduate, have eliminated the need for a work ethic.

Didn’t people like A O’Donkeychompers promise that free money like that would result in an unleashing of “creativity”? We’re about to be overwhelmed with a tidal wave of “art” and “ideas” and…..

Nah, who am I kidding. It’s all SOYA (sit on your arse) money, no matter what it’s called or how it’s dispensed.

    2. “…why cater to cruise ships.”

There is a reason why Skagway, Alaska (polulation 1,200) has twenty-seven jewelry stores (I counted, in 2014; was a pleasant walk).
It ain’t because the locals are overly fond of necklaces and such. (I drove in from Yukon).

  10. Doesn’t their greenie “information picket” need a visit from a convoy of truckers…or bikers…or something like that?

  11. According to Victoria’s local paper, the Peninsula Review, the cruise ship scheduled to arrive on Wednesday, April 6, will instead be arriving on Saturday, April 9, due to “a last minute maintenance change”.
    Take that, Extinction Rebellion losers.

    1. Geez, I lived in Melbourne many, many, eons ago – came to Canada from there. Wasn’t tempted to return before, and most definitely wouldn’t now. Hard to believe.

    2. Victoria gestapo are some of the worst offenders when it comes to gestapo thuggery and lawlessness in the Globalist 4th Reich takeover of former western democracies

Police forces are nothing less then Globalist enforcers, 4th Reich thugs working for the lawless politicians and loving every minute of their jackboot diplomacy.

Cops salivate at the thought of behaving like gangsters without accountability, they hyperventilate at the thought of beating defenseless unarmed civilians, it arouses them.

      Cops are scum.

Cowards and low IQ thugs… no better example then the Victoria Police… truly a despicable gang of fascistic and sadistic criminals.

  12. Tourism is the only private sector portion of its economy that is not based on recycled government and retirement cheques. It provides a phony “British” flavour for many Americans whose only foreign experience is a day or two visit to Victoria. It is also a repository for US funded anti-industrial “ENGOs”. The political climate is lunatic left and watermelon.
