  4. I’m not intentionally clicking on a CBC story, but I am curious how Ford tries to claim that it is in the publics interest to keep these letters secret.

      1. I’m not from Ontario, but I remember being surprised that someone as “conservative” as Doug Ford could actually win in Ontario. Jason Kenney is my shame.

        2. Right place, right time. Ontario was finally ready to vote the Liberals out en masse and no longer cared who the PC leader was. Rob Ford wasn’t that long in the ground and Doug was able to ride on his brother’s much more genuine image as a man of the people.

          Now it’s plain to see that Doug is a lot more like Jason, a pure opportunistic snake with no real conservative principles, than most people realized at the time.

          That’s Ontario for you. It’s so filled with leftists at this point that it, and the country, are effectively ungovernable from the right. No matter who wins the next Ontario election, the province is screwed. Just a matter of degree.

          I will say this, as I would be unable to get to Dead Rear for the in person vote, now that its going Online/Mail in..at least there is an “outside” shot at deposing that prick. This is not to say I have ANY confidence in said voting mechanisms…Jyoti Gondek, the Soros Pick & recently “elected” Commie Mayor of Calgary a PERFECT EXAMPLE thereof. (Dominion voting machines used)

        The first of course is now known: “very, very bad” and the second is “yeah, but its like comparing gonorrhea, syphilis and crabs”.

        Thug Fraud has pretty much killed the Ontario PC party. Which is not a bad thing. I can wait for the next Mike Harris leading the Ontario Conservative Party (until it gets ruined by the next provincial Scheer/What’s His Face).

    I disagree with what Ford is doing.
    But my recollection of the CBC is that they do dirt digging for the liberal party and don’t care about transparency.
    Their intent is to help the liberal party it’s only a coincidence that it aligns with something like this.

    There’s a potential unexpected outcome in this.
    If the argument can be made that mandate letters are covered under cabinet confidence would making a ministers mandate public release them from that restriction.
    Think what that could do for someone like JWR?

    1. In this case, the CBC is acting through a proxy – Ryerson University, so as to hide their involvement (not very well, I might add). Smearing and colluding is all the policy that CBC wants or needs.

Not even sure how or if I am going to vote in June but for sure it will not be for any of the alternatives.

  7. Covid established that phrase ‘the new normal’. What is good for the citizens should be good for the political and bureaucracy. ALL cabinet documents related to covid should be released, unredacted. But, but, but precedent, they will say. What about the precedent of seeing the last hours of a dying loved one. What about the precedent of corporate worship, when, where, how and who of your own choice. I’ve notice no party is talking about ‘transparency’ there days. Rant done

  10. Maybe the mandate letters show Ford was planning a different agenda than he is enacting. Maybe Ford was going to come in and govern as many expected he would – and then he got a tap on the shoulder….. – and his “mandate” then changed to one that aligned more with Trudeaus….

    Why would you try to hide something that would verify you are governing according to the mandate you set out?

    If the letters show Fords current governance model is the same as his mandate letters – whats the problem

    Maybe thats why CBC is digging – they want to try to paint Ford as a rabid right winger that is not truly dedicated to the cause.

      THAT my friend happened and occurred to EVERY Premier in the Country. And it didnt take long either…~ Apr-June 2020. And ALL were in LOCKSTEP.

      Everyone of them requires a Length of HEMP rope…IMO. for that matter pretty much the Entire Canadian Body Politic right along side with the Entire Canadian Corporate body as well. All of them far far too fucking eager to go full NAZI over this BS virus.

      One look around the private sector today and there appears not to be all that many that have relaxed their requirements for VAX PASS over a vax that demonstrably DOES NOT WORK…Yet Natural Immunity is scoffed at. Science eh..? Fuck off.

      Surprises me that there aren’t thousands of LAWSUITS filed over WRONGFUL DISMISSAL.

      The Covid hangover is still very much with us as the 10’s of thousands of Diaper Wearing & Vax Pass mandates in far far too many settings goes to show….incl the fact that at least a cpl million of us unvaxxed are stranded in our own Country. We’re CRIMINALS if you asked the CBC.

    I’ve just become aware of the New Blue Party of Ontario (www.newblueontario.com) so I may vote for them, the Reform Party started small too.

    1. Al_in_Ottawa … donate to the New Blue Party as they are the only sensible (one) voice at the moment. All the others have adopted totalitarian policies as there base.

      It is pointless to email Ford or any MPP in the Ford caucas as they are too fearful of being ejected by Ford for less than desirable thoughts or opinions.

      An image comes to mind of Captain Ford at the helm of the HMCS Ontario , with his feet up , one hand on the wheel, gazing indifferently out the left side of the ship at the latest wreckage in the water , while the MPP’s sit on the stern shaking and quivering but afraid to speak up , as the ship heads directly for the June iceberg ,

    If he had the (equally false) label “Liberal” not only would he be able to win in any court….CBC would not even be asking for any documents.
