Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Who needs “Ecash” when you can use government cash.
The finest synthetic paper copy of paper fiat money..
With all the scammers now working the electronic money trails, cash is king.
I went to buy a belt for my snowmachine, the clerk starts the thousand questions.
Told him my name was Johnny Cash and I resented the stupid “loyalty programme data tracking”..
Surprise surprise,he shut up and took the cash.
Just as I was wishing I could remember the public health VD lines phone number.
Now that our government has made it plain, that they shall monitor and approve(Or not) our spending,we must use cash.
For the more people using cash, the more difficulty government will have restricting its use.
And those kiddies who do everything with their phones?
They will eventually sicken of those lovely service fees they pay.
That used to happen at Radio Shack/The Source.
“Can I have your postal code?”
“You don’t need that information.”
“Oh, it’s just for mailing blah blah”
“You can take my money and give me my widget or I can walk out of here right now, your call.”
Princess Auto is in on it also.
Always asking for your phone number.
I give them an old disconnected one, though I am tempted to give them the 1-800-EAT-SHIT one but the checkout girls are just so damn nice.
That used to happen at Radio Shack/The Source.
Yup. The annoying part for me was that I used to be inundated by RS’s flyers and catalogs afterward.
Even the fancy ones have to chimp-out now and then. Breeding, I think, is less than nominal.
I have some difficulty imagining how this would work. From the rather brief description, I am assuming that an E-Dollar would be a lot like a physical dollar – they are all the same, differentiated only by a serial number. That serial number is carried on paper/plastic with printing and other devices to make forgery/copying difficult. The key is the unique serial number.
So the e-$ would probably be basically a serial number signed with a treasury secret key.
Someone gives you one of these, and you validate that it is real in the same way your browser is always validating SSL certificates – by taking a published public key to validate the signature on the certificate – or in this case, dollar serial number.
These are stand-alone doo-dads (NFT in current fashionable parlance). Lose it, and it is gone.
Or is it? What if I make a backup of my phone, spend my $2k, then restore the backup?
Since the usage is not tracked, as it is with bitcoin, how can you tell that my (restored) $2k is not valid???
They would have to have a hardware storage device on the phone that could not be backed up or restored. So you would have to have
a government approved/supplied piec of hardware to use these things. Presumably, only gov device to gov device transfer is allowed.
So just sending a e-$ by email won’t work – you would have to use gov email systems to do that.
This scheme looks either impossible, or a camel’s nose to get the government involved in running all sorts of things that you really don’t want them involved in – the the ability to carry a measly $2k??? I don’t think so…
Chris Rock is thanking all that is just and holy that he didn’t insult Alec Baldwin’s wife.
Joe…lol
Reply of the Day..!!
I am definitely stealing that.
After seeing what our tyrannical dictator had the banks do, people should run away from this screaming!
There is no way that “the slap” was not a total setup. Watch it in slow motion. Watch Rock turn with it. Looks like every staged blow I’ve ever seen. I ain’t buying it was real.
@Thomas: Nah, I disagree with you. It look plenty real and Will was plenty mad. But I disagree with his action. Of course Rock was displaying very bad taste.
Looked plenty real? Well, that’s Hollywood’s job isn’t it? But if you watch closely and compare it to every other blow thrown in a movie, you’ll see how it’s done. As for seeming mad? He was just getting an acting award. And not just any acting award but Best Actor at the Academy Awards. Surely, seeming to be mad or shedding tears is not beyond his skill. Besides, men don’t slap. Will Smith would surely know how to throw a punch if he was truly outraged and out of control enough to do that for real on live TV. Nope. Ain’t buying it. The only question is how many other than Smith and Rock were in on it.
It’s like Janet Jackson’s infamous “wardrobe malfunction”, which a lot of people believed was staged.
Which it was, of course.
The ecash bill is sponsored by 2 of the most repulsive Congress members, Pressley and Tlaib.
It will die on the order sheet, for now.
A very worthy rant on the emerging oil crisis.
https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/topstories/eric-nuttall-the-world-has-plunged-into-a-deep-enduring-energy-crisis-that-may-threaten-the-economy-for-years-to-come/ar-AAVApcT?ocid=entnewsntp&cvid=3e2c988b867a4b5f93c009e1fe74c34f
“Given all of this [depressed multiples as the price spikes higher], it is easy to understand the hesitancy of companies to suddenly expand capital expenditures, especially given the request to do so is coming from the same people who only a few years ago tweeted that oil executives should be thrown in jail due to climate crimes or, more recently, have threatened industry with windfall profit taxes.”
The slap was beyond staged give me a break lol….
I thought it was the Oscars and the BET awards broke out.
WWE couldn’t have staged it better, Vince would be proud.
Jesse Smollett mighta choreographed this.
Chris Rock should have come up with a hard right.
