    Totally insignificant in this arrangement called CONfederation.
    Mulrony won his second majority without needing one conservative seat from western Canada.
    There is only one solution to what ails this wonderful land where boundaries and borders were drawn by men. In other words …the lines are not sacred.
    It’s long past time for the west to assert itself and map our own future.

      Well said.
      I am way out west, too, and I well remember Mulroney and previous and subsequent marginalization. We in the wilderness are ruled by the eastern corridor.
      Lines should be redrawn, and it should be so.
      But where is the power and will to make it happen?
      Leaving aside the lower mainland of B.C., we should align with the states and provinces that make sense, but please include we who live in the BC interior, but not the hippies.
      It is complicated and may require moving to the right watersheds.
      Help!

    2. Beg pardon, but Boris Yeltsin’s signature is on documents recognising Ukraine’s right to exist as a sovereign nation AND its right to enter into whatever treaties and alliances that it sees fit.

      NATO is a mutual *defence* pact, not the kind of lockstep political alliance typified by the Warsaw Pact. The probability of NATO posing an existential threat to Russia in any scenario outside of those in which Russia is the aggressor, is effectively zero. Justifying war requires more than paranoia.

      If you do not understand why peoples who have lived under the Soviet boot, might want a greater degree of security from their powerful, belligerent neighbour, try reading “The Gulag Archipelago “, followed by some research into the brutal oppression of various uprisings in Soviet satellite states.

        Totally defensive as they funnelled munitions and funds into the Ukraine.

        If NATO is purely defensive,what would a warlike club look like?

    The ruskies can sit back launching missiles safely from home. Attempting a no fly zone with foreign jets is a provocation. Expect a vigorous response from Putin
    leading to all out war in Europe.

  10. Stand up early?? You should have stood up to it after the “two weeks to flatten the curve” was up. You, and everyone else, should have stood up to it immediately when the government even mentioned shutting down businesses. For many, now is far too late, their life’s work has been ruined, and for what? You should have stormed the offices when Covid patients were herded into rest homes to infect and kill the elderly to save government money. You should never have worn those useless masks.

From what I am seeing and saw in the last 20 years, Ukrainians have a far far better track record in standing up for their freedom against voter fraud and tyranny than sheeplike, historically illiterate, laughably shallow and impatient North Americans do. You are just lucky to be surrounded by water, to tell you the truth. What do you have to show for your trucker protest in Ottawa? Who stood with them right to the end? A very small minority of really courageous people far far less than are dreaming about getting fucked by Castreau who dominates the Canadian Parlament, the Press and Universities. Your glorious ancestors, of whom you are ashamed of, would be far more appropriately ashamed of you.
