Last I checked he didn’t beat Canadians for having had toi effective a protest. He didn’t declare martial law over a truck protest. He won’t call you scum for being white, or accuse you of being the source of all the world’s troubles because you think it is super weird for a man to wanna shag another man up his bung-hole.

      The people that want you Canadians to back them up in a war with Putin are doing all thise things to you!

    4. So how do Putin’s words about the “Empire of Lies” relate to his actions against the Ukraine?
      Pretty simple….he has been clear for over a year that NATO inviting the Ukraine to be a part of that organization was to him, a deliberate provocation. NATO was formed as an alliance against the Warsaw Pact and Russia. The Warsaw Pact no longer exists. There is currently a buffer zone of countries between those Putin would consider enemies (Empire of Lies) and Russia. Inviting the Ukraine into NATO removes part of that buffer, and places the US military right on the doorstep of Russia. Given how many times Russia has been invaded from that direction, can you see how he might get edgy?
      Our leaders seem to be doubling down on the same old failed methodology they have always used. When the trucks arrived in Ottawa, JT could have gone to discuss lifting the mandates. Simple, effective, and likely to happen soon anyway. Instead, he responded with inflammatory rhetoric and took the nuclear option. Biden could have done the same with the Ukraine. Leave it neutral. Why are we making the situation worse, when we could have de-escalated so easily? Do we really want a war just because our leaders are too egotistical to back down on anything they have done?
      I am not attempting to excuse Putin’s actions. But it is good to remember that in every conflict, both sides have some arguments that they believe are valid. Putin has some reasons here, and we should not just ignore them and ramp up the name calling, any more than JT should have with the truckers. We could have avoided this, as Putin has been clear since NATO started courting the Ukraine that we were poking the bear.
      I’m not ever going to say that Putin is a “Good Guy,” or that his actions are justified. I am sayin’ that when Trudeau, Biden, CBC and CNN team up to completely vilify someone….well, he can’t be ALL bad.

The traditional values of Vladimir Putin includes decades of loyal service in the notorious KGB in which he was a general, the creation of the Gulag Archipelago, the murder of millions of innocent people, the most severe oppression of religion and the ruthless maintenance of a totalitarian communist police state that undermined peace and democracy everywhere for 70 years. Not to mention that he and his KGB alumni run Russia as a giant mafia kleptocracy. He is a billionaire dictator who murders political opponents and lacks any semblance of a moral compass.

      Other than that Putin is a fine fellow.

        1. Oh yes, I remember. Shameful. Utterly shameful and forever changed my opinion about Canada’s diplomatic service. From that day on, I saw them for what they truly were: leftist midwits with serious entitlement issues, no talents, and utterly useless. Fuck the lot of them.

        2. I just retired after 30 years of public service. I served during NDP, Liberal and Conservative governments and gave frank and appropriate advice to ministers of all the parties. I do recall federal civil servants greeting Trudeau with adulation when he was first elected in 2015. It was to their discredit. Civil servants must be, in our professional lives, non-partisan.

          My job was to give my best advice based on whatever experience and expertise I possessed and to act always in the public interest. It is not to fawn publicly over politicians of any political stripe regardless of how charismatic and how wonderful their hair. Sometimes I had to tell a minister what they did not wish to hear.
