Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

DAMAGE CONTROL…
Trudeau in full Damage Control as yesterday’s WAR announcement didn’t happen.
Damn those Russians pulling a stunt like this and diverting this War that Trudeau was counting on for his Power Play Grab.
Oh my God…did I ever fuck up!
Canadian MPs are dumb as a sack of hammers:

Wrt the modern equivalent to Chamberlain.
That line is getting longer everyday to the point where it’s not a point to make the comparison of who is the current holder of the “peace in our time” title, it’s trying to find someone, anyone among the western governments that isn’t vying actively vying for that brass ring of appeasement.
While they desperately look to recreate the mistakes of the past, some even becoming the tyrants they warn about, it’s very rare that any of them seek to be the Churchill of our times.
Are you prepared go go and fight and die for what the Russians and Ukrainians are doing to each other? I sure as hell aren’t.
When either of them become a threat to us, more serious than our own government, then maybe we can talk about it.
John Oliver is a piece of excrement. Like that stinking poltroon Stephen Colbert, his idea of “comedy” is taking a giant dump on anyone who rejects Marxism. The seething irrational hatred alternating with laugh-track hooting from the audience is the left’s idea of humour, and it’s puerile and ugly. They will not be remembered well.
Q: What’s the difference between Stephen Colbert and a washing machine?
A: Obama can dump a load in a washing machine, but it won’t still be following him around, years later!
OUT-FARKIN’-STANDING! 😀
Interesting shirt the attacked woman has on in one picture. “equality equality equality.” It may have a new definition to her now.
Sigh … Canadian diplomats have always been criticized for any and all entertainment spending. If there are irregularities, ALL should be investigated!!!
Decades ago, when my spouse was a diplomat, there were similar articles. I can only vouch for what I observed. There was one bad apple who tried to import 5 state-of-the art TVs on the way home from Asia – he was caught and punished, rightly so.
Yes, the lifestyle of a diplomat can appear to be luxurious to the average reader of Canadian press releases, but it is often not so for the family behind the scenes. My first months on all new postings were challenging, as it is the spouse who must learn the culture and language immediately to survive, obtain food, plan for children etc., with minimal advice. That included Ottawa, then cold and unfriendly, for we westerners. Mostly, women could not get paying jobs on postings.
Yes, cocktail parties, luncheons and dinners are a bit part of a diplomat’s job, increasing at senior levels. They were interesting, as one met a lot of people from different walks of life and cultures. Mostly, meetings were daytime occurrences, maybe lunches. No one in my experience ever abused their funds for entertaining nationals in the country to which we were posted. Most of us lived in accommodation that was sort-of like Canadian standards, which means expensive in foreign countries. My children recall the cocochellas in play room.
I can not vouch for today’s diplomats. They are of a different age and possibly different values.

Won’t someone please think of the diplomats!
You don’t need Facebook to watch this, and it’s a damn good speech by a very fine Canadian:

From the Furey article: “Now, whenever Canadians bring out a wallet to contribute to a cause that challenges the government, or whenever they put on their shoes to head out to a protest — whatever the issue is — they’re first going to pause and remember what’s happening now.”
Yes, that’s the point. It’s definitely intemded to chill criticism.
As I posted as soon as the government started mandating injections. Stop all of your charity for everything. Stop donating blood, stop volunteering for anything. People on the right of the political spectrum actually give more than Communists. We all know who the machine is attacking so why feed it? They broke the social contract.
Some idiot doesn’t realize that Cuba IS in North America? The question maybe should be “Is Canada North America’s North Korea?”
Yup. I’d bet most people would say that there are only three countries in NA.

China does not have allies, only vassals.
Russia is done being anybody’s vassal.
Xi Jinping is not trying to help Putin. He’s simply accepting that he needs to pay Russia for her oil, and that the peoples of the West are not eager to shed blood to destroy the Russian nation-state for him.
If Xi wants to conquer Russia, the PLA will have to fight the Russians themselves, and somehow win. China cannot meaningfully win such a war.
Cuba is part of North America.
As is France; St. Pierre Miquelon..
