Some Things To Do

The federal “Conservatives” are busy Tweeting about housing prices and asking the PM in a mean voice when the mandates will end. When Convoy spokesman BJ Dichter told me never to underestimate the Conservatives ability to score on their own net, he wasn’t kidding.

In the meantime, there are some things Canadians and non-Canadians can do if they wish. These suggestions come from the truckers themselves. Trudeau has to bring this to Parliament within 7 days of the declaration and get a majority to pass it. Remember, he has a minority government. The NDP says they are going along with him but perhaps they are also reading the room (I know the chances of that are slim).  When you call, make sure you get a person on the line. I know it seems like they are all ignoring everyone, but calls and e-mails are tabulated and even if they don’t admit it, and even if they send you some dogsqueeze hooey form reply, your efforts are noted and go into their tabulations and calculations on public opinion (i.e how they can stay in power).

More legal thoughts here.

Plus: the petulant Blackface Wearing Boy King has lost the New York Times.

Canadians can e-mail and call their Member of Parliament and non-Canadians call call and/or e-mail their local Canadian Embassy or consulate to register their displeasure.

A list of MPs can be found here.

Liberals here. NDP here.

    1. I called mine Monday afternoon already. Wanted a phone number “for the record”, didn’t leave it.

          1. I wouldn’t count on that working right now. You might think your number is blocked but I can see every call coming into these slimeballs being reported to them by their carriers.

  1. The one who really needs a wake up call is Jughead. Once the measure is passed, he will be thrown under the bus.

    1. Since he is the one who holds the cards here, this is what I sent:

      Dear Mr. Singh,
The NDP holds the cards in Canada’s future. This position should not be taken lightly.
The risk of voting to support the Prime Minister is more than the NDP just losing support from the Canadian working stiffs.
Once the Prime Minister becomes fully in power he will have no more need of the NDP for support.
He will throw everyone he no longer needs under the bus.
I realise that you are not my MP. But I am asking you to be careful before agreeing to make working stiffs like me into deemed “enemies of the state” just because we oppose the prime minister’s failed policies.
The prime minister, instead of reaching out for dialogue with the Freedom Convoy, resorted to insults and lies.
A regime that cannot withstand or tolerate opposition is tyranny.
Can you, yourself, really trust him? With that much unlimited power?
      Thank you for your consideration.

        1. Probably of little use. He was all over complaining about how terrible Trudeau is, yet voted with him not a half hour later. I almost find Jagmeet more insensitive than Trudeau.

      1. The scariest part of the NDP position is the right decision is so obvious, the bill doesn’t meet the Act’s requirements, so vote No.
No alienated base of workers (and union people I understand), nor a defeat of the government. If Trudeau resigns anyway – bonus.
Instead they rail against everyday Canadians, especially “Trump supporters,” who should be worried says the Justice Minister.
As fully half of Canadians march blissfully along into authoritarian edicts and branding of Jewish MP’s as swastika bearers.
The wise government will let us all of the hook soon they bleat. In Canada? Not until governments get themselves off the hook.
But the way to liberty (and embarrassing a petulant PM as a bonus) is stuck in neutral thanks to the intolerant of intolerants NDP.
The NDP’s chances of forming an alternative to the Liberals, thus one step closer to government, is stalled by their ABC blockheads.
Imo their chances died with Jack Layton who, very late to the party, figured out his vote harvest came from Liberals, not Tories.

      1. ++A – or push for integration or “special relationship” with Western Canada. Eastern Conservatives will just have to move west.

        1. I’ve long predicted, Heaven’s Gate style, that mid-North American Federation might be carved out of Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, the Dakotas, and bits of MN, WA, OR. Might actually have a shot of coming true.

          1. Ganderson, I live in BC, So now you’re advising I move to ….Manitoba? When the federation becomes a reality, please consider inviting refugees from BC.

          2. 2/3’s of California would fit with this, along with the majority of Washington state and Oregon. Just sayin’.

  2. Here is the message I sent Patty Hadju. It’ll be Room 101 for me.

Shame on the PM and shame on you for doing this. The Emergency Act was not intended to solve inconvenient political situations, to attack your opponents or to become more like the Chinese communist dictatorship that the PM admires so much. 1984 is NOT an instruction manual. It’s a cautionary tale. Maybe you should both read it with that in mind.

  3. The decree can also be defeated in the Senate. Remember that the boy prince ejected all his Senators from caucus.
    Current standings are:
Independent Senators Group 42 (I think this is where most of the ex-Liberal Senators caucus)
    CPC 16
    Progressive Senate Group 14
    Canadian Senators Group 13
    Non-affiliated 6
Contact links can be found on this page: https://sencanada.ca/en/senators

    1. Non affiliated means Lieberal. Doesn’t matter what you call a turd. It still stinks.

I tried writing to all of them. Ended up resending targeted emails instead.

  4. why give him 7 days for this grotesque abuse of power? the cons and the bloc should be able to find 20 MPs and 20 senators willing to sign their names to deny trudeau his crown and force a vote in 3 days

also where are the “constitutional” organizations going to get injunctions because the declaration is not “reasonable”?

      1. Further, it’s “or”. A motion to revoke the Declaration can be requested in either house on the application of the appropriate number of members or Senators. It must be voted on within 3 days, and passage in either house is all that is required.

      2. Gamma, I guess we’ll find out if the senate really is a place of “sober second thought” or not. I’m not gonna hold my breath. Even if the do shut it down, I’d bet the turd will just eject the whole damn senate from parliament. It’s justina, and justina’s will, shall not be infringed. The narcissism is strong in that one!

    1. “why give him 7 days for this grotesque abuse of power?”

Exactly. If any of these clowns of any political persuasion had a spine, they’d be ginning up support for an early vote. Maybe they’re all waiting for the phone calls & emails to be tabulated, the cartilaginous runts.

      1. He can shut down the country in less than 7 days: jail his political opponents; truckers; purge senior officers in the military; shut down free media; and so on. When the 7th day vote comes, it ‘won’t be his fault’ that so many pesky Conservative MPs and Senators turned out to be Nazis.

  5. When is the last time you ever saw a free vote from the NDP? They’re all whipped votes; that’ the NDP version of democracy.
Again, focus on the Liberals. And Trudeau.

  6. I saw Pierre (Jesus) Poilievre on twitter today going on about inflation. Like the price of beans matter when you just lost your rights to be human. CPC do better!

  7. I just left a message for my liberal (they don’t do real calls) and stated vote how you want but remember that you are personally responsible for your vote and the consequences that come from it.

We need to hold these people criminally responsible for what they’ve done and what they’re doing.

  8. Curious if the Quebec Liberal MP’s are feeling heat from their constituents. The Quebec National Assembly voted UNANIMOUSLY to reject the Emergencies Act. And if there was a time for separatists to capitalize on the incompetence in Ottawa it is now. The BQ seems to be playing this perfectly.

    1. Howdy,

Weren’t the three skeptical Liberal PMs all from Quebec?

Maybe you want to pose that question directly to ALL the Quebec Liberal MPs?
And cc: all the other MPs?

      1. All the cracks in the Liberal caucus were Quebec MP’s. Legault’s about face on covid restrictions is to disassociate himself from Trudeau – quickly. I mean they had a vote in the National Assembly denouncing the Emergency Act. What other province has done that? I think Trudeau has stirred up a hornets nest in Quebec.

  9. Here’s another thing to do – pull your money out of the bank. Under this law, the Canadian Banking System is no longer a safe place for your money.

It would be a shame if there was a run on the banks.

      1. Yep, the best you can do is threaten your bank with a lawsuit-just because Trudy gave himself dictator powers with out the consent of Parliament doesn’t make it lawful.

  10. Candice Bergen and others are all hat no cattle. There’s a lot issues that need addressing and I’m well aware most there can walk and chew gum at the same time but soaring inflation, house prices, airport PCR tests aren’t exactly on my radar right at this time not while Canadian citizens are being doxxed or at the very least harassed by a tax payer funded broadcaster and our Charter of Rights being utterly trampled on.
If I hear one more time the opposition boilerplate : “Canadians need hope and a path forward” without a mention of the current crisis I think I’m going to scream.

Seriously Bergen et al. Grow some balls or at least admit you’re doing performance theatre for the truly stupid among us.

  11. If your PM can invoke the Emergencies Act for THIS minor inconvenience … what’s to keep him from imposing it to “fight” Global Warming? Isn’t Global Warming an even GREATER existential threat than the Truckers? Wouldn’t it solve everything if your PM could Freeze (literally) all the fossil fuel corporations bank accounts?

Just think! Canada could SAVE THE PLANET … yeayyyy … from Global Warming.

    1. He could just declare a double whammy, triple scary, quadruple serious Emergency Act to stop global warming. That will work!

  12. At least when Daddy Trudeau invoked the War measures Act he could point to 200 bombings and a bunch of kidnappings.

What does Blackfaced Boy have for his reasons? BBQs, Bouncy Castles, and Honk! Honk!
    Name ONE!:
    Death
    Injury
    Looted Store
    Burnt Down Building
    Ransacked Government Office
    Toppled Statue
    Injured Police Officer
    Murdered Police Officer.

Frankly you Canadians have shown AMAZING RESTRAINT.
    Keep Up the NON-Violent Protests.

    1. rd, That constraint does have limits. I don’t know how many straws are needed to start breaking the camels back, but the turd is happily piling em on. I wonder, who will blink first? Dark days ahead.

  13. Just spoke to Kelly Block MP office. They have been receiving hundreds of calls and emails. I conveyed my concern of government overreach with the emergency act and the precedent this sets going forward. It’s time we speak up, don’t sit and wait for them to take everything from you. Hold the line!

  14. // the petulant Blackface Wearing Boy King has lost the New York Times. //

Your Daily Mail link is a couple of days old & links to a NYT opinion
    piece from 6 days ago.
That was before the gun stache was found, & four people were charged with
    a police murder plot etc.

I imagine that your source is one of the many since flogging their
spins on the editorial, but here is a link to the original:
The Ottawa Trucker Protests Are a Test of Democracy
    Feb. 10, 2022 https://archive.ph/QLFNK

The Times made several mistakes in the beginning, for which they have apologized.

But here is an article from today, invoking the concept of “Social Capital”
to explain the burgeoning support for the convoy:

// in the 1930s in Europe
Dense networks of civic associations such as bowling clubs, choirs, and animal breeders went hand-in-hand with a more rapid rise of the Nazi Party. Towns with one standard deviation higher association density saw at least one-third faster entry. All types of associations — veteran associations and nonmilitary clubs, “bridging” and “bonding” associations — positively predict National Socialist Party entry. Party membership, in turn, predicts electoral success. These results suggest that social capital aided the rise of the Nazi movement that ultimately destroyed Germany’s first democracy. //

    making the parallel:
// The situation in Ottawa quickly devolved, Bateson argues,
into an illegal occupation, with heavy elements of extortion. Many people here describe it as a hostage situation. The convoy has deployed tactics intended to harm local residents, such as deafening horn-blowing, in an attempt to extract concessions from the government. More than 400 hate incidents have been reported to police, and there have been coordinated attacks on the 9-1-1 system, flooding it with calls so residents cannot get through. //

But it’s really about the Trump phenomenon:

  15. I’m curious as to why Pierre Poilevre isn’t standing up in parliament and going after Trudeau.

  16. I notice there isn’t a contact mention for CPC, or are they included in with the liberals?:-))))

  17. Hands up, those who have any remaining faith in our political system. Anyone feeling represented? Anyone think they’re not all in on it? The Libs are down to their core voters. These people will vote for Trudeau regardless of what he does. The Dippers are happy to go along and the Cons are happy to get to hold the wheel occasionally as long as they promise not to turn it.

  18. Just called Singh’s Ottawa number. No answer, no message.
Called BC constituency office. Mailbox full.
Will email and I guess phone tomorrow ….not holding my breath.

  19. Seven days or three days, hardly matter.
If 20 dissidents cannot be found from the 338 elected leeches, that too is useful information.
If a majority grants Emperor Justine’s request for total power, that is very useful information.
    Same with the Senate inhabitants.
As I note it is never a bad day when my enemies proudly self identify and demand their right to take a bow.
Meanwhile, the government excels at fucking things up,refer to the Long Gun Registry,Phenoix Payroll systems, our military procurement and our countries finances.
So they will be busy seizing all the wrong peoples funds and threatening complete innocents, cause that is easy.
Meanwhile the minions are still stuck between a rock and hell.
Do they obey Dear Leader, under this fraudulent “National Emergency”,or do they stall for time to see what the rest of the politicians approve.
Or do they go with the natural rights and freedoms of all men, especially freemen?

For if our elected fools and bandits approve this idiotic use of total power, then we are at war, civil war.
    Started by our Parasitic Overload.

So the minions will attack, hoping they can suppress or terrorize all decent folk.
For they only get one crack at it.

Failure means a massive indiscriminate cull of the “New Middle Class”.
For when forced to act,the productive, generally do a rather through clean up.

I hope the politicians slap Dear Leader along side the head..
But to date they appear to be utter fools and complete bandits.
    What a mess.
When you elect fools and bandits, you get theft and utter stupidity.
Both of which offend the productive.
Get enough of either and the help gets fired.
Fired out of the Trudeau Cannon.
Before or after meeting Ma Guillotine is of no concern to me.

I honestly doubt that the majority of Liberal MPs comprehend what they are risking.
    They really are that stupid.

  20. Sujit Choudhry was a classmate of mine at U of T Law and was a good guy. I find his initial observations – i.e., that Trudeau has not cleared the threshold needed to invoke the Emergencies Act – quite compelling and suspect we’ll be hearing much more from him.

  21. I tried to write a letter to the Canadian Embassy but I couldn’t bring myself to send it to them. Unlike the rationale of appeasing angry voters, there is no reason why a Davos adherent diplomat wouldn’t laugh his or her ass off receiving an appeal to their conscience and better angels. I simply believe they have none and are acting in full awareness and without any regard to the harm they are inflicting on their „commoners“. Those in power now are much more likely evil than misguided. I don’t want to get in dialogue with them.
