What an amazing day to be a Canadian! Your regular scheduled Reader Tips offering is once again being preempted to share something much more important. Rebel News and True North are doing an absolutely fantastic job covering the events in Ottawa. Here’s but one video. While watching each video, remember two things:
- The temperature is incredibly cold.
- Every single person you see in these videos has been “othered” by Dear Leader, deemed by him to have “unacceptable views”.
You can find an endless number of more videos here, though be skeptical of anything coming out of the corrupt “official” media outlets; just remember that Trudeau’s government provides funding directly to them.
Your tips, especially about this this protest, are MUCH appreciated!
#MapleLeafRevolution

Earlier this evening, I watched your movie recommendations, Unknown Island and Renfrew of the Royal Mounted.
UI was made by what must have been a “poverty row” studio (borrowing TCM’s Eddie Muller’s expression). It wasn’t bad and it definitely wasn’t on par with Jurassic Park. It was made a few years before one of the great Ray Harryhausen’s earliest movies The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, so the critters look rather clunky in this one.
ROTFM was a cornball hoot. I liked how Renfrew’s dog rescued his hat after that canoe capsized and accompanied him when he’s serenading the young lady at the end.
Two of the actors in Unknown Island may be familiar to SDAers.
Barton MacLane (the ship’s captain) played the police detective hoping to arrest Sam Spade in The Maltese Falcon as well as a cheapskate boss in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
Richard Denning, who was the former castaway on the island, played the governor in the original Hawaii Five-O (though I don’t remember him), as well as a scientist looking for The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and another one in The Black Scorpion.
Looked at the CBC vid on youtube from the 27th, I didn’t watch it, but I scrolled down 3 pages worth of comments, and every single comment was in support of the truckers, and quite a few lambasting CBC for being the shrill propagandists that they are.
CBC are saying that Singh or whatever “accidentally” donated 13 grand. What a sick joke the CBC is.
Reader tips.
Rumor from CBC journalists is now proving those low altitude videos from many kilometers of truckers Blocking Canadian snowy border roads came from a Russian Mi-28N helicopter gunship.
Russian involvement might cause an international crisis.
It’s like they’ve never heard of drones, and don’t know that lots of people have them.

Really incredible drone footage from Ottawa this evening: https://youtu.be/PV7J2f7X2BI
The convoy, as well as the reaction of the public to it, reminds me of a similar show of defiance more than 40 years ago.
The liberation of Poland began in the shipyard at Gdansk (formerly Danzig). Workers, led by electrician Lech Walesa, downed tools and that was the beginning of what came to be known as the Solidarity Movement. The freedoms that were won didn’t last long as, about 2 years later, the government, with the backing of Moscow, imposed martial law.
That was what led to the destruction of the Soviet regime, though.
With a bit of help from the Vatican and Reagan.
and Margaret Thatcher.
Actually, Thatcher had been in office for more than a year when Solidarity formed.
“The convoy, as well as the reaction of the public to it, reminds me of a similar show of defiance more than 40 years ago.”
Indeed it does, been there live through it as a kid. Strangely enough PM Baked Potato reminds me of Polish leadership circa 1988, still utterly convinced that only a minority of malcontents and Reagan’s lackeys oppose them.
Let’s go Potato!
Join Mitchell pulled the plug on Spotify.
It’s starting to get mildly interesting.
I guess she wants to pave paradise and put up a prison camp.
She’s been batshit crazy for a long time now.
she wants to pave paradise and put up a prison camp
That’s brilliant! You should try to get the revised lyrics to her somehow. If she doesn’t do it herself, someone should do a deepfake of her singing it. And since old Maggie is of a similar vintage and flower child extraction, and used to pride herself as a bit of a singer, (she serenaded some head of state at a formal dinner once, quite extemporaneously), it’d be great to include her too.
Borrowed and spread that for “Daschu on the Downs” here in Queensland
“She’s been batshit crazy for a long time now.”
Joni Mitchell and Neil Young were folk singers playing Toronto coffee houses in the early 1960s. Neil Young always was batshit crazy. Stephen Stills seems to be the only one on earth who actually liked him or at least liked playing with him. Crosby and Nash wrote him off as an asshole but willingly played with him when he wasn’t in a funk or throwing a snit. Young usually went home long before the tour ended or the album was completed. I wonder if he taught Mitchell to be crazy or did she figure it out on her own?
ABT – I liked Nazareth’s version of her hit song better anyways.
How about a Swedish bluegrass version of ACDC? Steve`n`Seagulls – You Shook Me All Night Long.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cZS12RiBQ3o
Gotta love that band. Probably gives the urban metro-sexuals nightmares.
Oh no her one song will have such an impact.
Here’s some trivia on Joni Mitchell. She was born in a little town ’bout a half hour west of Lethbridge by the name of Fort Macleod, right on the edge of an Indian Reserve.
Her dad was in the RCAF. During the war there was a Commonwealth Air Training Plan air base at Fort Macleod that taught intermediate and advanced flying. She was more of a Saskatchewan kid.
Thx for the update. I knew she didn’t live there long, but was unaware what happened after that.
Saskatchewan kid?! Ewww…
I see a logical disconnect in waving the Trudeau Liberal Party emblem national flag in a cause to get rid of Trudeau. Should we not perhaps have a consensus among freedom-loving Canadians about a new flag? I don’t personally want a return to the Red Ensign either.
The problem with all things “maple leaf” is that it symbolizes the cultural ascendancy of eastern Canada over the west where the maple is often not widespread, or was brought along by Ontarians in their travels. And if you “overthrow Trudeau” then what? Was the election not the right paradigm for overthrowing the Liberal government?
Much as I admire the spirit of the protests, I am not exactly sure what the common denominator is, in terms of what kind of country is envisaged, if a sizeable number of Canadians really wanted freedom and personal liberty, would they not have voted for the one party that defended it (unsuccessfully) in the recent election? I wouldn’t be very moved by a situation in which Trudeau resigned and Freeland or some other stooge took over the government, and the O’Toole conservatives have no mandate to govern, nor would I feel any great relief to have O’Toole replace Trudeau.
I guess there are facts available to anyone who digs a little deeper and one of those facts is that we have not chosen wisely in the past when it comes to political leadership, so we have an endless series of more or less equivalent and interchangeable globalist puppets, who will all end up doing the bidding of the billionaires and big corporations, and ignoring the people between elections. Some are more astute about how to relate to the “common voter” than others. Beyond that, if you don’t have pledges in writing that are somehow legally enforceable, I don’t see any replacement of Trudeau meaning much.
I thought exactly the same thing. I dislike the Liberal Party’s flag, and I think the Red Ensign looks too much like the flag of Ontario. Frankly, the country’s too big and diverse to have one symbol that is representative of everywhere all the time. Another good reason why it needs to be broken up into decentralized, more accountable parts. But that is well beyond the scope of these protests, whatever the specific objectives and methods might be.
How bout replacement of the maple leaf with ” The Beaver “.
Let’s keep Maggie out of it!
I’m bored and my buddy owns a print shop, thanks for thr brilliant idea. The Studio 54 Maggie Beaver Flag will fly freely at my cottage….. I feel sorry for my neighbours downwind though.
How about a Double Double as the national symbol?
A hockey puck?
A pothole?
Pemmican?
I saw pemmican and I thought of how much the natives, explorers, and early settlers relied on it.
I think it is a fantastic symbol of our collective history and a great nod to the North American Natives (another unity symbol, coast to coast and north to south.)
I’ve been thinking about exactly this for some time. Politics is downstream from culture and the prevailing culture in Canada is unfortunately one of urban socialism. I’ve been gaming out scenarios in my head of what the end game of the truckers revolt could possibly be.
The Liberal – NDP axis has an effective majority. They’re not going to call a snap election themselves and they have the votes to defeat a confidence motion, so that’s out. Even if they somehow went to an election, a plurality of Canadians appear to support mandates, so we end up back in the same place. Even if the CPC ekes out a majority somehow, they’re no better than the Liberals. Much as I’d like to believe that fantasy, the PPC is never going to get a majority and they’re the only party even talking about removing the mandates.
If Trudeau’s puppetmasters decide he’s become a liability and force him to resign, we get Chrystia Freeland. That’s worse. Trudeau is feckless; Freeland is bitter, vengeful and stupid.
The Liberal – NDP axis isn’t going to throw away their best weapon for controlling the populace. At best they might offer some drawdown on some mandates – I could see them trying to split the truckers by reversing the mandates on truckers alone. I have no idea how committed the entire convoy is to “no more mandates for anybody anywhere”.
I fear that the only way this is going to end well for the cause of freedom is not if this is our Poland moment, but our Romania moment. And that scares me.
Urbanism is the increasingly dominant social-economic force across pretty much all the world. It’s not the fault of the left that most of the Right is addicted to ruralism and has violently alienated the educated and urban folk who set the culture and decide the future.
“ruralism” is accepting responsibility for your own actions. Those professions where a mistake can maim or kill tend to be conservative thinkers. Why? Because if you get it wrong once then you might never recover. These people are very risk averse because risk for little gain can be too expensive in the long run. They are the people who grow our food, make and maintain the machines that make our lives easier, and provide the raw materials that allow cities to survive.
Compare this with computer jockies or academics where being wrong has no risk of personal injury. The lack of direct consequences for being wrong leads to a complacely with change just for the sake of change. No thought is given to how and why things came to be, or that society and the economy as it exists are the result of a Darwinian process that has rejected many inferior ways of doing things. Why not scrap it all and try to rebuild from the group up when you have no fundamental understanding of how and why things came to be the way that they are?
It is good to see you expounding a little more on what you think and why. That said, you’re still showing the thought capacity of a child. Shush, the grown-ups are talking.
Compare this with computer jockies or academics where being wrong has no risk of personal injury
I happen to be a computer jockey, but I started out as a traditional engineer. One of the most frustrating things for me in my field is getting people to understand that while a crashing web site isn’t going to kill anyone, time isn’t free. Following fads and playing with new technologies (and it is play, not a real cost-benefit analysis) wastes huge amounts of very expensive programmer time. There is absolutely a mentality that f*cking up doesn’t cost anything.
“The people who grow our food” are some of the most entitled demanding pricks in the world. They demand and receive explicit subsidies and implicit ones by way of cheap water, import tariffs and other barriers to competition, and various government schemes to prop this up.
All this and they are still fewer and fewer every year thanks to tech-enabled productivity gains, which is the main point that your comment misses entirely. Vertical farming and the meat farms will finish off the rest more or less.
“The problem with all things “maple leaf” is that it symbolizes the cultural ascendancy of eastern Canada over the west where the maple is often not widespread, or was brought along by Ontarians in their travels. And if you “overthrow Trudeau” then what? Was the election not the right paradigm for overthrowing the Liberal government? “
Seems many folk have considered that same conundrum. Personally, mine gets flown upside down. When (if?) the Baked Potato gets overthrown, mission accomplished. The flag gets burned.

Margin of Fraud. Eighty-one million votes.

That has nothing to do with fraud.
Neither do the vote mules.

2.6 million voters used an unconstitutional and entirely illegal method to vote, invalidating their vote. Fraud!
Now shut your piehole.
It does not invalidate their vote. That’s not how any of this works.
You’re hilarious.

I feel like watching a trucker movie tonight. Any suggestions?
White Line Fever, Smokey and the Bandit, Convoy.
Or something appro for our times, Maximum Overdrive.
I like Thunder Road (1958), starring Robert Mitchum and Gene Barry:

There was a series 40-odd years ago called BJ and The Bear about a trucker & his pet chimp. It was kind of fun without getting deep. Don’t know if it’s available online anywhere.
How about a trucker tv show from the 1950’s (shot I believe in Toronto)

Sask. Premier says province will end proof of vaccine policy in ‘not-too-distant future’

The filthy commies at the Bloated Corp. quote Dr. Meili accusing The Premier of “…doing that for purely political reasons.”. Never once did I hear a peep from the Medical Doctor that leads the provincial wing of a National Socialist (and workers) Party about Ivermectin and Hydroxichloroquine. Lives in Saskatchewan were LOST because these two treatments were banned by, well we’re not entirely sure who has that much power. Ryan might know who but the good doctor knew or should have known the treatments were effective but kept his mouth shut FOR PURELY POLITICAL REASONS.

This is how stupid Moms 4 Liberty and the GOP is:
https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2022/01/28/texas-gop-candidate-falsely-claims-school-cafeteria-tables-are-being-lowered-for-furries/
“Michelle Evans, a GOP primary for Texas House District 136, published a tweet Sunday that claimed middle and high schools in Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) were lowering cafeteria tables to allow “furries” to eat more easily.”
This is roughly the same gaggle whose idea of freedom is banning various books from school libraries.
Sabrina Maddeux of National Post has a column far more sensible than anything here.
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/sabrina-maddeaux-freedom-convoy-a-gift-to-smug-liberals-as-it-pushes-conservatives-off-balance
She points out that this drama is actually not novel and has been done before, and that latching onto it is very very dangerous for the Conservatives. Nothing good will come of it.
Who claimed it was novel? Cite your source.
It pushes Conservatives off balance because they’re nothing more than Liberal-Lite, who are also surprised by the push-back. Along with the Commies. Three leftist parties (who don’t have a spine, testicle or ounce of intestinal fortitude among them), all off balance. Quelle surprise. Shocka, even.
True conservatives have seen this coming to a head for months.
Note, I chose my capitalization most carefully.
And, good is already coming from it. It’s throwing into sharp relief who these assholes well & truly are, from the Baked Potatoe’s entirely inaccurate scale of the Convoy, to his hate speech on members of the Convoy, to his lies about Covid exposure, to his cowardly, chickenshit skedaddle out of Dodge, to JagMeat’s racist comments, and putting them all on a public stage.
To quote Danny Glover & Mel Gibson, “BEEEEYOUTIFULL!!!”.
+++DB
‘the Baked Potatoe’s entirely inaccurate scale of the Convoy’
Well akshually it’s the convoy people who widely overestimated their own scale. The rest of your comment is just desperate grasping.
Let’s make a gentleman’s wager: Canada will abandon all public health measures related to Covid within six months. Deal?
Well, first off, as usual, you brushed right past the, “Cite your source” part. So we all know that’s bullshit.
Second, the Baked Potato didn’t pay attention to anything the “convoy people” (whatever the hell that’s s’pose to mean) said, otherwise he wouldn’t have left town at a dead run, pissing his pants & lying about following some non-existent Covid protocol like the cowardly pussy he is. Therefore, also bullshit.
Third, why is my reasoned opinion “desperate grasping” and Maddeux’s irrational screed about “racist, antisemitic, or anti-democratic” something or other (must be talking about the Baked Potato or JagMeat) not? Is that your opinion? Well, you’re full of shit, too.
That’s 3 for 3. Congrats! You win!!! I bow before the better bullshitter.
There’s a lot of trucks in Freedom Convoy 2022 — but not nearly the 50,000 they claim
https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/theres-a-lot-of-trucks-in-freedom-convoy-2022-but-not-nearly-50000
“he wouldn’t have left town at a dead run”
He didn’t, and even if he did it doesn’t matter. He and the left have nothing to fear from you.
“Third, why is my reasoned opinion “desperate grasping” and Maddeux’s irrational screed about “racist, antisemitic, or anti-democratic” something or other (must be talking about the Baked Potato or JagMeat) not?”
Because she has facts on her side and you have straws in your grasp.
Once again, you missed your first cite. Strike 1.
Second, focus! This is about the Baked Potato & no one else. Prinz Blackface made the Convoy sound much smaller than it actually is, calling it a “fringe minority” in the process. Strike 2.
Third, he did leave the town at a dead run, right after his lie about Ontario Covid protocol was exposed, the lying, spineless pussy. Strike 3.
And, for the bonus question, fourth, cite examples from the Convoy that fulfill her claims of “racist, antisemitic, or anti-democratic”. Should be a simple task with all those so-called “facts” flying around. Be specific.
Or are you going to go zero for four, similar to your zero for three last attempt?
“He and the left have nothing to fear from you.”
Au contraire.
I am a free and independent thinker. And that scares the fuck out of the Baked Potato and the left.
