Apparently, Biden was unaware of the talks going on this week in Paris between Germany, France, Russia, and Ukraine

More, including: We may have just caught a CNN reporter deleting a war report that exposed the truth about the White House and Ukraine. And it now looks like the White House pressured them to pull it

So it turns out that the only two people that believe that Pootin will conquer Kiev are Xiden and The Awful Truth?
Foreign conflicts distract from domestic problems.
You asked for it, Colonialista…
If you genuinely want my opinion (if only to laugh at it), no, I don’t think Zelensky has a goddamn clue how deep in trouble he’s in.
The Servant of the People is in over his head at least as far as Justin Trudeau. He listens to no one but his old cronies from the entertainment world. The oligarch who broadcast his TV show and sponsored his campaign, Igor Kolomoisky, has written him off. The People themselves are turning on him, his poll numbers dropping by the week.
Vladimir Zelensky seems mostly concerned that Biden’s pulling Americans out of Kiev makes him look bad.
Allowing bigots to ban the Russian language in “Ukraine” makes you look bad.
Refusing to recognize the right of the people of the LPR and DPR to determine their own fate makes you look bad.
Offering “Ukraine” as a parking lot for American weapons…that was the last straw. Putin could have tolerated “Ukrainian” independence in Trump’s time, when the Americans were less interested in enlisting “Ukraine’s” help in conquering Russia. Not any more.
The oligarchs, who knew better than to throw good money after bad, took thirty years to strip Malorossiya of everything worth stealing, and left the Jewish funnyman to take the fall.
Spare a thought for Zelensky. Regardless of his exact fate (a Russian prison, exile in Israel, Germany or Canada), he’s doomed to go down in “Ukrainian” folk memory as the dirty Jew who let the Mongols kill Mother Ukraine.
The Servant of the People was given an impossible task by the inhabitants of a poverty-stricken, poisoned Soviet province— to succeed where all others had apparently failed in turning it at last into a stable, wealthy “European” country.
On some level Zelensky must have known the real problem. Most “Ukrainians” simply don’t have what it takes to develop or sustain a free and prosperous commonwealth. Those that do invariably leave if they can.
In the TV show, President Vasily Goloborodko (Zelensky) publicly supports bringing “Ukraine” into the EU. In private, it haunts his nightmares. He dreams he has woken up in an abandoned Kiev, everyone having left “Ukraine” but him.
I hope Vladimir Aleksandrovich wakes up soon, and realizes he does not have to live in the vodka-fueled delusion of the likes of Chrystia Donaldovna. For his sake, and all our sakes.
“If you genuinely want my opinion…”
What makes you think that? Everything you say is genuinely insane and weapons grade stupid.
Take this jewel for example:
“…when the Americans were less interested in enlisting “Ukraine’s” help in conquering Russia…”
Your entire frame of reference is so detached from reality that there is no overlap between you and sane, and hence no room for a civilized discussion. You’re beyond hope. There is nothing to talk about. Again I can only post this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hfYJsQAhl0
I heard that I believe it might have been the Ukrainian President was told that Germany was going to be sending them helmets (apparently Germany has laws in place that make it illegal to send arms to areas of conflict). He answered saying…”What’s next? Pillows?”
Regardless of his word salads and lapsey memory, Biden is right and if the Ukrainians mean what they say then they are fools. They should be in DefCon 1 and should have already been so for months. They should have spent the last seven years preparing non-stop for this eventuality. Biden was totally right to try and put the fear into people in Kiev.
The list of topics on which you know nothing never ends.
For how long do you expect the country with a population slightly larger than Poland but GDP about a quarter that of Poland, to be able to maintain military spending per capita at roughly twice the rate of Poland and the standing army roughly twice the size of Polish armed forces (when Poland is widely considered a model NATO citizen spending the required 2% on defense while most other NATO members lag behind)?

As long as it takes. Re GDP: maybe they should get that market reform in gear with gusto instead of doing just enough to get the IMF to begrudgingly dole out the next tranche. My heart is with them but their decisions are bad. Zelensky was the wrong choice.
“As long as it takes. ”
Idiot’s response. They will go completely bankrupt or North Korea if they want to keep this level of military spending indefinitely. South Korea spends less than them as % of GDP. Much richer per capita Israel spends about as much.
And yes, they are corrupt and manipulated by Kremlin for decades. Hence their inability to reform and dependence on Pootin’s gas. Every time the patriots try to break free, Kremlin meddles an sabotages them.
You cannot just go on blaming The Kremlin for everything. They have bad policy. There is no good reason they could not have become a free market paradise years ago. Blaming The Kremlin for everything makes Ukraine weak and that’s…exactly what The Kremlin wants.
Funny enough I am pretty sure it’s Russia that’s going to go broke between the military spending/activity and oil prices falling in the near future. They have their hands in too many pies.
They have a lot of bad policies. But as long as they have Kremlin breathing down their necks they will never have good ones. Compare Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova with the rest of ex-Com block in Europe. Do you see a common denominator? Those that separated from russia are doing much better than those that did not. Russia is cancer.

In any case your initial idea that Ukraine should be spending more on military for “as long as it takes” is clearly retarded.
Ukraine is in good hands with Biden.
God help them all.
Pootin is going to carve out a part of Ukraine, but probably less than we think. He needs a quick and cheap victory. He cannot afford to get bogged down. The further West he goes the bloodier it will get. He knows it well. Here is a pretty well informed analysis:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9c_HhpvBpg
“Well … I told Mr. Putin that if he doesn’t FIRE that General who’s preparing to sack Kiev, there’ll be no $200B in aid coming from America … and … well … son of a bitch! … next thing you know … Putin fires his top General!
I am Joe Bidinh! Damnit! And when I speak, people listen”
Putin isn’t going anywhere.
The negotiations are underway. He’ll get what he wants.
NATO will back off. Biden will give in and the ukes will take it in the shorts.
They will want a corridor to the east to have a sea port.
In the end the world is not convinced that the uke tribe is worthy of nationhood. Kinda like Putin that way.
“NATO will back off”
From what? AFAIK actual direct intervention into Ukraine by NATO forces isn’t on the table. The US and others have already sent tons of equipment to Ukraine I don’t think Kiev will be returning that ever. We’ll see if they can put it to good use.
Yes, on the war games
