50 Replies to “And How Was Your Day?”

  1. OMG. How incredible. Almost killed by a plane crash, then almost killed by a train. I pray that his ambulance didn’t drive off a cliff.

  2. These are very brave officers.

Another good reason to NOT defund the police and NOT a time for social distancing.

Another intersection of two leftist policies.

  3. Defund immediately please. I think we all know in our heart of hearts that had it been a black pilot they’d have left him in there and his surviving family would receive a bill for the cleanup.
    So obvious.

  4. we need an enlightened comment about JACKBOOTS now, paging the two cop haters that post in here!

      1. Good cop’s bad cops

One of them will be given a pink slip for not having his Jab.

    1. OMG cops did their job for a change and nobody got hurt as a result, let’s build each one a statue and let them lynch some innocent people as a reward.

      1. their job required them to call the fire department to rescue the guy, their civic duty, as a citizen was their motivation!

        1. Yes you’re right. Their job description consists primarily of being thugs and harassing innocents. And they are loving it and that is why they have chosen to become cops in the first place. This was way out of their job description and completely out of character.

        1. Clayton, I’v had dozens of bad experiences with cops. Got beat up in the back of a cop shop twice. But I understand that they have a piss poor job, and wouldn’t want to be a cop. They deal with assholes like the colon on a regular basis, and that makes them miserable pricks ,just like the COLON. COLON ain’t a man, as he has never grown up! The COLON doesn’t live very far from me!

          1. “But I understand that they have a piss poor job,…”

ROTFLMAO Pray tell, what other job requires that little qualification for that much authority, job security, unaccountability and opportunity to act out your high school bully fantasies?

P.S. Unlike you I have never been arrested in Canada, so yes, at least circumstantial evidence points to validity of your assertion that they have to deal with assholes. Got my ticket stamped by ZOMO when I was a teen though. Most Canadian cops would fit perfectly there (although a greater average level of physical fitness was required).

      2. I’m not sure this even qualifies as “their job”. Isn’t vehicle rescue usually the fire department’s job?

        1. This is splitting hairs. The intent of my post is clear. Just because some cops did something heroic on a rare occasion it does not make cops good guys. They are not. And that should hardly be a revelation. Most of recipients of knight’s cross were heroes but not good guys. They often committed incredibly heroic deeds with great degree self sacrifice and bravery, still they served evil.

          1. @Colon:
I must say I am impressed by your calm measured response to being called an ‘asshole’.
I should have been more polite in voicing my disagreement with you.

  5. There are heros all around us. Given the right time, place and circumstances I would think that every single SDAer would have done the same thing.

We love life, we love people and would lay our lives down for another in this same situation.

Heros who have a full time occupation.

Buy those guys a round or two!!

  6. But cops are all bad, right? And white supremacists. Oh wait, if the injured guy were a person of colour then they would have left him to die. Isn’t that what Leftards constantly tell us?!? Asking for a friend.

    1. Yes they’re all bad.
No, they are not racist, certainly the majority of them aren’t.
One does not have to be racist to be bad. The reverse is also true.
Them occasionally doing their job does not change anything.

          1. Most Canadians would be shocked to their core if they had any idea what 1) the laws governing police in Canada actually say (protip: you have virtually no rights once you come into contact with a police officer) and 2) what the police and sympathetic lawyers/judges routinely get away with.

          2. Yes, most Canadians also have no idea what mindset is required to pass aptitude test and that there upper IQ limits on eligibility.

  7. Doesn’t look like the train even tried to stop, they just laid on the whistle like it was an every day occurrence to blow through a plane sitting on the tracks. “Hey Elmer, there’s another goddamn plane on the track”. “Just blow the fucken whistle Charlie, we’re already 10 minutes behind schedule”.

    1. Once you factor in the time from discovery of the crash and the whole communication chain to find the train to stop (including all the repeats that a freaking plane crashed on the tracks) and that it generally takes over a mile for a train to stop, I’m not surprised that the train did not appear to stop. It probably couldn’t. When you know you are unable to stop in time, it makes sense to lay on the horn to at least let people know that you are coming so there is at least a chance to warn people to get out of the way.

      1. When trains apply their brakes they make a squealing noise and when they dump their air all at once it makes a hell of a squeal. I didn’t hear anything except a whistle.

      2. Some years back, antiwar protesters decided to stop the train carrying nuclear weapons into a Bay Area naval base. They lay down on the tracks, leftistly unaware that trains take a long time to stop. Leftist is now minus legs.

    2. Arty
Possibly, Elmer and Charlie had in fact, contacted the county officials and found that the pilot hadn’t properly filled out the paperwork needed to crash in that exact spot!. Therefore, they had no obligation to stop.

      Just a guess

  8. From personal experience what is about to happen is whatever that Police Department calls their Health and Safety nazis will be demanding reprimands and suspensions for reckless endangerment of lives.
At the same time the PD’s lawyers will be demanding the department disown their actions on the basis that dragging an injured person out of the vehicle and across the pavement might have aggravated their injuries
and thus opened the PD up to serious lawsuits.

  9. It’s like my uncle Harold used to say… “Never try and cross the tracks when a train is coming. Especially if you’re driving a plane.”

  10. What are the chances of a plane landing on R&R tracks, when a train is coming?

That man needs to buy a lotto ticket.

    1. Dustoff,

      326,000,000 million to one.

      Thanks for your service MEDIC.

      Dustoff saved my lifeless body.

  11. Lucky pilot. Wonder if he was vaxxed? I agree with Dustoff, I’d buy that ticket too.

When your adrenaline gets going there’s no telling how strong one’s instincts come to the forefront. We all know this to be true but when it starts pumping it overcomes you and it just takes over. Afterwards, when all is said and done, a person becomes exhausted by this occurrence and later after a time of soul searching a certain quality of vigilant life takes root. This is from my personal experiences and is the best way I can describe it.

There were some small saves here and there…just a few.
Long story short: 17, me screaming FIRE in a fire. 1, drowning.
3, winter car accident from freezing. 2, ladies from thirst and being lost. 1, gent, same, thirst and lost, looking half dead.

    P.S.
That last one?…I had to charm and boss that 80 year old around a bit… told him that I didn’t want to call 911 if he didn’t sit a spell. Sometimes ya gotta be assertive, but ya always gotta love ’em… especially when they resist. Oh, that last one got to me! Gave me a big bear hug!

    Ever read this book?

I sometimes felt like little Owen. It’s a good read!

  12. Having flown gliders for over 50 years, I know a thing or two about landing off airport when you run out of sky. The average power pilot doesn’t think the way I do: I am always asking myself “if that engine fails, where will I land?”

Flying over built-up areas still makes me nervous when flying my power plane, especially when coming into land at my home airport when the tower gives me an approach over the city.

My guess is that the pilot saw a stretch of road straight enough to perform an emergency landing and either didn’t see the train tracks, or figured he could roll right over them (light planes have small wheels and a rough crossing could have snagged him), or he simply had no choice. From the video it looks like he was injured in the landing, so he likely wasn’t able to exit the plane unaided. Standard procedure for a forced landing like that is to open the door before touching down in case the crash distorts the fuselage so that the door jams and cannot be opened (thinking fire here, but an approaching train is another).

Lucky guy, and bravo to the cops. If I ever land like that, I sincerely hope there are similar cops around to help me.

  13. Just went on a boat trip to see the Unstable Cliffs National Park, it was everything they said it would be.
