  1. I remember that episode from more than 50 years ago. There were a number that tended to be more tongue in cheek, lampooning not just the James Bond phenomenon but the Batman craze as well.

I never saw the original series featuring Honor Blackman as I don’t think they were available in North America. I lost interest in the series when Linda Thorson took over from Diana Rigg.

There was a brief revival in the late 1970s (The New Avengers) with Joanna Lumley playing one of Steed’s sidekicks. Several of the episodes were made in Canada and I thought they were terrible.

And then there was the movie from the late 1990s. I started watching it when it was on cable but quickly switched it off as there was none of the flair that made the Macnee/Rigg series fun to watch.

    1. Speaking of TV shows, earlier in the evening, I finished the adventures of Planty Pal, otherwise known as The Pallisers. The first episode is at:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTFzSjwdczQ

Like with The Forsyte Saga, I didn’t like it as much as I wanted to. It was entertaining but at 26 episodes with its numerous side stories and characters coming in and out of the plot, I found it a bit trying at times. It’s the sort of mini-series for which an organization chart would come in handy.

There are numerous familiar faces in the cast as they’ve often appeared in other shows or movies. I noticed that at least two of them appeared several years later in The Jewel in the Crown. Also, watch for Anthony Andrews and Jeremy Irons, who would later be in the TV adaptation of Evelyn Waugh’s novel Brideshead Revisited.

      1. I forgot to mention that Derek Jacobi appears in The Pallisers for a few episodes. Soon after that, he played the title character in I, Claudius.

    1. Sean M – Even the US Government high priest of Flu is predicting better days ahead: “Fauci predicts omicron Covid wave will peak in U.S. by end of January”
More importantly, he’s now saying what we’ve been saying at SDA for several weeks:
“Fauci also said it is technically possible that omicron could hasten the end of the pandemic, if it proves true that that variant, with its high degree of transmissibility, replaces other strains of the virus that cause more severe infections.”

      https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/fauci-predicts-omicron-covid-wave-will-peak-in-us-by-end-of-january/ar-AASfvas?ocid=uxbndlbing

My understanding is that this is how many epidemiologists expected the virus to evolve, only it appears to be happening more quickly than some expected.

      1. Don’t you kid yourself!
        The next variant is coming.
Maybe a bad crossover strain to bird flu…don’t know.
But the narrative is set and our politicians quite enjoy this new found power of decimating our economy while bringing in massively more immigrants.
The Mayor’s will probably create and incorporate new immigration centers or something similar that they squeak some federal funding bucks from. In Trudeauland, he’s promising a million immigrants next year.
So, where to put them as our housing can’t keep up?
Probably will stick them in the student campus housing.
But don’t think our politicians are done dicking with us.

        1. This is the last variant. A new one is a bridge too far. The next phase in this disaster is to pave the way for a fall US election. Look for these morons to declare victory. MHO.

          1. Steve, your “a brige too far” phrase is the best description about the Xi variant that I have heard in weeks. Pandemic-weary cracks are even starting to appear among the establishment wokesters.

          2. The next one won’t be a virus because it is too difficult to jab 3 billion people in a short amount time.

Keep your eye on the long ball.

            https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/03/covid-19-is-a-litmus-test-for-stakeholder-capitalism

To answer that question, let’s recall what stakeholder capitalism is about: ensuring the long-term preservation and resilience of the company, and embedding a company in society. In this sense, a short-term economic crisis such as the one induced by the coronavirus outbreak reveals which companies truly embodied the stakeholder model, and which only paid lip service to it, while fundamentally maintaining a short-term profit orientation. The COVID-19 crisis is a litmus test that shows who has been “swimming naked” while endorsing stakeholder capitalism.

The next crisis will be ‘climate change’. You watch.

      2. So, does this imply that herd immunity achieved through natural immunity will ‘end’ the pandemic? If so, does it allow for the future narrative that the jabs were designed to protect people until ‘nature ran it’s course’? Thusly, the negative effects of the jab are ‘collateral damage ‘ to the greater good of ‘protecting ‘ so many at risk?

    2. Sean M,
“ Employment Minister Carla Qualtrough says the decision was part economic to make sure workplaces weren’t shut down because of an outbreak, and also to encourage more eligible Canadians to get a shot.”

Omicron is hitting the fully vaccinated hard, this will likely ensure workplaces are shut down? With the bonus of PUNISHING those “racist and misogynistic extremists “.
No expert, but I’d say you may be on to something with that last sentence. If offenders get paraded down the streets in shame and it’s broadcast on MSM, we will know for sure.

    3. That hag needs to flogged.
Forcing employees and employers to pay for insurance and then refusing to honor the forced agreement is illegal.
It would be unacceptable behavior in the criminal world.
So the Libranos are far worse than criminals. They are honor-less scum.
      The Canadian government is corrupt.
      Film at 11.

  2. 23:20 HRS on Thursday night, CST. Enviro Canada

Cold spot in Canada: -44.1 °C (-47.4 °F) Old Crow Airport, YT

Cold spot in Saskatchewan: -34.9 °C (-30.8 °F) Prince Albert Airport

    1. I just checked the temperature at the EC website and it’s -27 here in Edmonton.

The new year will be a bit warmer, but, early next week, it’s back to being, as the University of Alberta student newspaper The Gateway put it many years ago, so cold that that it’ll freeze the balls off a pool table.

      1. BAD – It’s -27C here in Calgary too, although I bet if I get in my vehicle and drive around I’d find that it’s actually colder. Weather stations seem to be next to a heat source at times here in cow town.

      2. 75°F here in Clearwater, Fl. Had to mow the lawn today. Key lime trees are blooming. Sitting out by the pool. Balls not in jeopardy.

        1. That side of Florida, Reddington Shores, was my favorite place on the planet, no longer able to go there as the nazis now prohibit my travel. Enjoy, Jim.

          1. abtrapper, the fucking government. I don’t fucking do experimental gene therapy fucking drugs.

        2. Jim – We had climate-change driven 31C – 33C every day in Palm Desert in November, i.e. 88°F to 91°F. I was hoping to ski over Xmas break but too cold for me until maybe Sunday. Have fun in the Covid-killing sun.

    2. Going to go out in a limb here.

I predict that Environment and Tossing Virgins into Volcanoes Kanada will announce “2021 THE HOTTEST YEAR ON RECORD!!!!!”

  3. https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/12/huge-cdc-withdraws-use-pcr-test-covid-finally-admits-test-can-not-differentiate-flu-covid-virus/

The absolute trash website publishes yet another complete and utter falsehood:

    “This is BIG NEWS.
After December 31, 2021, the CDC will withdraw the emergency use authorization of the PCR test for COVID-19 testing. The CDC finally admitted the test does not differentiate between the flu and COVID virus.”

False, it is not big news. Only more BS from the trash website.

False, they are not withdrawing “the PCR test” for Covid19 testing. The CDC is withdrawing *their* PCR test that is under a EUA but has never been FDA approved.

Last statement – you guessed it – false!

“In preparation for this change, CDC recommends clinical laboratories and testing sites that have been using the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR assay select and begin their transition to another FDA-authorized COVID-19 test. CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season.” Quoting CDC

“This explains the disappearance of Flu cases in the US in 2020. It also inflated the COVID cases as Dr. Fauci and the DC elites knew would happen.” Quoting the trash website.

It’s pretty plain, the CDC PCR does not detect the flu virus. What they are saying is newer tests that work with Covid and influenza *AT THE SAME TIME* should be used in the future.

Want proof? Check out the link in the CDC link that TGP didn’t bother to check:

    https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19-emergency-use-authorizations-medical-devices/in-vitro-diagnostics-euas

Want further proof TGP is completely wrong? Just wait until Jan 1 when PCR testing continues as normal.

    1. Any idea how many cycles they will be running tests at Al? 40?
How accurate have these been in the past?

Why are you obsessed with cases?

Also re “trashy websites “ I guess you missed the msm coverage of trump Russia collusion?

      1. The tests have been bogus from the start. The guy who invented the test said it should not be used as a diagnostic tool. Ontario has been running the tests as high as 40 cycles. The positive tests are then entered into a computer and the computer model numbers are considered potential patients. Fake from the get go.
Now when people are entering the hospital without “covid” for other problems they are testing them after admission and saying they have “covid” when they really do not.

    2. Your fact check is pure nonsense. Reread the CDC application again, slowly and without your gigantic bias. This isn’t about being right at all costs, it’s more important than that.
As evidence of the shakiness of you logic I would submit your final statement. Does that really make sense to you? Do you really think, given the content of your whole post that ‘the continued use of other other PCR tests means they must work? If so then I can’t help you.

      1. What are you even talking about?

        1) PCR testing is NOT being cancelled
        2) The CDC is withdrawing their PCR test because the free market has come up with better multiplexed tests.
        3) the CDC test does not pick up influenza

Which one are you addressing? Come up with something coherent please.

    3. Sorry, Allan S. Your argument is pure semantics.

Your “denial” does not deny that the CDC is abandoning the PCR test to detect Covid.

You can argue the reason why the CDC is doing this, but you can’t deny that they are doing it.

      1. Allan S,

I agree with you regarding the GWP for a definitive authority on anything however it is useful for a starting point to dig further as you have started to do but then you went off the rails. The PCR test goal posts are already shifting due to lack of supply and too many people panicking due to the OMG variant being the same as the flu/cold. The so called ‘medical experts’ know this already because it is totally predictable.

So what is the government doing ? Only test people with symptoms! Great, now the case count will dramatically drop and we won’t have to tell the public how many jabbed people are positive! See how that works ?

        https://globalnews.ca/news/8480752/ontario-covid-pcr-testing-isolation-reduced-5-days/

As of Dec. 31, PCR testing is only recommended for symptomatic people who are hospitalized patients, in long-term care or retirement homes, health-care workers, First Nations, or students and staff, among other high-risk groups.

        1. “As of Dec. 31, PCR testing is only recommended for symptomatic people who are hospitalized patients, in long-term care or retirement homes, health-care workers, First Nations, or students and staff, among other high-risk groups.”

That should have been the case from the start. Testing everyone who may have been exposed — including those without symptoms– has been disruptive and pointless.

    4. CovSars, Covsars2, H1N1, H1N2, H2N5, Spanish flu, Hong Kong Flu, Swine Flu, Influenza A/B., Bird Flu, Dog Flu. Cat Flu, Seasonal Flu, common Cold….yes and Even the Siamese f’king flu too..!!!

      ALL 100% CORONA VIRUSES

None of which have/had a hope in hell of being distinguished from one another by said RT PCR test……Why do ya think that was the one picked as the # 1 Testing protocol world wide..?

24 months now – 100% Fraudulent As Reiner Fuellmich will PROVE beyond a shadow of a doubt.

        1. The only truly Stupid one here is the Liberal Rat Fuck I’m currently addressing.

But like most BS artists, you’ve got squat to deny my assertion…….just a childish retort.

          Goof.

          1. You are top to bottom wrong. PCR test is for genetic material. The influenza virus and the coronavirus are light-years away from each other genetically.

  4. Canadian Housing Market: Party’s Over
“- Low interest rates and government stimulus have driven Canadian housing prices to record highs, stretching the marginal buyer to its absolute limit.
    – Affordability is at 30-year lows and exposure to short-term interest rates at record highs, just as the Bank of Canada enters a tightening phase.
    – I predict Canadian house prices will be up to 20% lower in two years time, and certainly no higher than they are today.”

  5. Meanwhile, François Legault has cancelled (Western) New Year’s Eve.

New measures in effect as of 5pm December 31:

Churches and synagogues to be shut except for funerals. Mosques and Muslim-owned dépanneurs selling beer to Christian children will remain open.

Curfew from 10pm to 5am. Any white people who speak English or look Jewish can be fined up to $6000 for taking their dogs out to piss after 10pm and refusing to tip the Montreal police officer who writes the citation. The diverse and vibrant are exempt.

Asked what scientific basis he had for the curfew, Legault explained, “Ta yeule, câlisse.”

    https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/quebec-will-reinstate-curfew-as-omicron-cases-soar-report-says

    1. Nancy Ross – I saw that story somewhere else recently. Thank you.
The politicized banks like RBC may want to consider this dire prediction made recently concerning credit card companies: “(former Facebook exec) says Visa and Mastercard will be the biggest business failures in 2022, losing out to altcoin-linked projects
      – Both companies are a “completely contrived duopoly that doesn’t need to exist,” he said.
      – He cited Amazon’s decision to ban Visa credit cards in the UK due to high transaction fees as one reason for his view.
      – (They) will be overthrown by emerging blockchain and DeFi projects in 2022

      https://www.msn.com/en-ca/money/markets/billionaire-chamath-palihapitiya-says-visa-and-mastercard-will-be-the-biggest-business-failures-in-2022-losing-out-to-altcoin-linked-projects/ar-AASiTsA?ocid=msedgntp

  6. For Killer Marmot – 9 of 22 people who died in sk in august were fully jabed . 40% not the a third I stated. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/breakthrough-deaths-covid-19-saskatchewan-1.6168893 the third figure I recall from a Sask health website that no longer appears to be available. Funny ,Eh? You state the reason they want protection from liability is because it was developed quickly. Well they have given plenty of jabs and they keep expanding the number the number and ages. They have more than enough data to take responsibility and it should be an area where government should be protecting citizens. They know it doesn’t meet the normal safety protocols and the effectiveness is highly questionable. You are deluding yourself if believe otherwise. And by the , a number of the other 13 met the 21 day criteria of a single jab. I suspect some of the rest didn’t make the 21 days. But it would have been a lot worse had they not had the jab, right? And by the way much to my regret and detriment i am double jabbed.

    1. I for one do not believe any of them died of “covid”. Show the autopsy results, right they can’t as they didn’t do any. They can’t even prove that the virus that causes the flu even exists. The CDC is so freaking corrupt it is unbelievable.

      1. vowg – I cannot provide autopsy proof – I am simply addressing Marmot’s contention I have nothing showing that the overwhelming majority of “covid” deaths are unvaxed . The fact is people die , especially as we get older, but there is an agenda now.

        1. When over 20k have died in the US, from the vax, then something is fucking wrong and talking around it is not a solution . We have to stop the insanity.

        2. Rat is the president of the Grouchy Fauci fan club.

He’s got an autographed picture on his wall.

  7. I would wish everyone a Happy New Year but it will be far from happy, as the Nazi fascist bastards continue their efforts to destroy our country and our lives. Until a majority of people open their eyes and realize they have been screwed over, nothing will change. We must all refuse to comply with anything related to “covid”.
“Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of tuth”.

      1. Once she moves back in as President, it will be “sane and sober and stable and productive”, won’t it?

I love it when the left eats its own.

        1. She’s so bored out of her tree as no one will listen to her or hire her toxic personality.
And still totally pissed that her ‘team’ didn’t get her her Presidency like this Biden fraudulent election.
Man, did they pull out all the stops to prevent Trump from another Presidency.
No doubt, that is bugging her to no end as she feels ‘entitled’ to that position.

          1. Well, there’s a conspiracy theory out there, that would make Hellary POTUS, but it’s too cute to be real.
            1. Appoint Heels Up to the Supreme Court/UN ambassador, or some other position.
            2. Hello Hellary, appointed as VPOTUS.
            3. 25th amendment. Buhbye Xiden.
            4. Hello Hellary POTUS.

The problem here, is it is too possible for words.

  8. New data released today by the Robert Koch Institute, a research agency run by the German government, found that though 71% of the German population is fully vaccinated nearly 96% of Omicron cases are among the fully vaccinated.
4.42% of Omicron cases are unvaccinated Purebloods.
    http://www.informationliberation.com/?id=62769
Dr. Robert Malone was banned from Twitter after the AP accused him of “misleading” people by claiming that vaccines “don’t provide protection against the omicron variant.”

  9. According to Drudge…

    COVID CASES USA
    582,044 DEC 30 2021
    228,949 DEC 30 2020

    DEATHS
    1,417 DEC 30 2021
    3,808 DEC 30 2020

Cases increased by over 2x and deaths reduced by almost 3x (year over year). Is this because Omicron is less deadly and taking over, or because they are testing way more people and there are less sick people available to die or just more BS data and we have no idea what is going on?

    1. Xiden did a great job with his plan, didn’t he?

More dead under Xiden’s reign of error. Well done Cho.

  10. Germany continues on its relentless march to dismantle its economy, as it replaces reliable energy with unreliable [renewable] energy.

    https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/science/germany-shuts-down-half-of-its-6-remaining-nuclear-plants/ar-AASiLMl?ocid=entnewsntp

“The three [nuclear] reactors now being shuttered were first powered up in the mid-1980s. Together they provided electricity to millions of German households for almost four decades.”

Forty years of reliable energy to millions of German households.

“But the German government said this week that decommissioning all nuclear plants next year and then phasing out the use of coal by 2030 won’t affect the country’s energy security or its goal of making Europe’s biggest economy “climate neutral” by 2045.”

    Wishful thinking…

“Nuclear power plants remain high-risk facilities that produce highly radioactive atomic waste,” she [Environment Minister Steffi Lemke] told the Funke media group this week.

Every energy source has its pros and cons. The weakness of renewable energy is that it is expensive and unreliable (oh that’s 2 weaknesses).

      1. Blackie’s disgusting diatribe is posted on Citizen Free Press.
Rather than calling it a diatribe, I should note it as being a classic instance of projection by that racist misogynist piece of shit-for-brains psychopathic twat.

  11. Ooooo!!! Diana Rigg!

I don’t actually think I have seen this one to be honest and I thought I had seen all the Mrs Peel era stuff.

    1. Wait – yes I have. I remember the police man.

Also, for those playing at home, the pistols used during the ‘cowboy’ parts are – if I am not mistaken – Colt Single Action revolvers.

aka the same pistols made famous in the movie Rust.

Also note no one died while making this episode, Alec!

    2. I had forgotten how much a knowing wink The Avengers was.

The scene where after being gassed, Emma wakes up in her apartment. Her phone? disconnected (odd). Her drinks decanter? not quite what she is used to drinking (odd). She moves around a bit more before opening an internal door only to discover the ‘room’ beyond is filled with cameras.

This isn’t her apartment at all! It is a studio set!!! And as the camera pans out we can see it is so blatantly a studio set that the main room Emma woke up in doesn’t even have a fourth wall.

I loved this show. My elder sister got me into it back in the days when if you were a fan of cult television you loaned each other VHS tapes.

    3. I just glanced at the show’s IMDB page. It was created by Toronto-born Sydney Newman. He may, perhaps, be best known for creating Doctor Who.

Also, looking at the list of who played in the series, I noticed a lot of familiar names, including Edward Fox and, speaking of the Doctor, Jon Pertwee, several years before he flew the TARDIS.

Most of the show’s music was composed by Laurie Johnson. Among his other credits is the score for Dr. Strangelove: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

    1. “That means climatology has not the faintest idea how much – or, rather, how little – global warming we may cause.”

Anybody w/ 2 brains cells to rub together knew this decades ago.

      1. The really sad part is that the people driving the scam knew all along, but the pay was better if they just played the game. Shysters, crooks and leaches on society. We need a day a week set aside for “Beat a Climate Greenie Day”.

  12. The months keep on rolling by since the official narrative proclaimed for the first time that increasing inflation is simply a temporary blip – nothing to be worried about. And now the latest in the temporary blip:

“The world’s biggest furniture brand Ikea is raising prices by an average of nine per cent as it faces increasing costs in transport and raw materials, the owner of most of its stores worldwide said on Thursday.”

    https://globalnews.ca/news/8480415/ikea-raise-prices-supply-chain-woes/

  13. How many Indians were emotionally scared by the bow and arrow scene? This is why I don’t watch decades old re-runs. /s

  14. Wow! An article in the National Post strongly criticizes the recent Ontario Court decision that threw out math tests for new teachers on the grounds that the test was discriminatory. The conclusion of the article will set the social justice warriors on a rampage:

“The Ontario math test decision is where we end up when race becomes more important than demonstrated competence. Not only does it undermine merit, it’s insulting to non-white people. In effect, the judges are saying that racialized people, even those with a university education, don’t have the intellectual capacity to pass a math test.”

  15. -25C in Calgary, but have no fear. The robust wind and solar power installations which have 3005 Mega Watts of capacity are putting out an astounding 35 Megawatts this morning. A phenomenal 1% of capacity. Proud to be an Albertan and have such a bright, fiscally responsible bunch governing the province. I wonder what kind of tax dollar subsidized contracts there are in Alberta for wind and solar?

    1. >people who do not get vaccinated against COVID are often racist and misogynistic

I never wore blackface, this loser did it twice
I never jumped off a plane dressed like a genie and danced around Indian parliament while they were wearsing $2000 suits like adult politicians
I never elbowed a woman in parliament
I’ve never threatened and intimidated an Attorney General (female) when she was investigating my ethics violations
I didn’t laugh in the faces of the family of someone who’s child was raped and murdered by the immigrants I swore to take the fall for if they break the law

Yet I’m the racist misogynist bad guy here because when I say my body my choice, I mean it.

      1. PM (starts with C and rhymes with hunt) is always projecting. It makes his admirers at the CBC all wet in the crotch.

    2. He wasn’t just angry. He was seething with rage that anyone would have the audacity to defy him.

Just watch–he’s going to allow people to beat up purebloods, sort of like a Covid KKK.

  16. Only? F’ing Prog imports. This is why Albertans can’t have nice things…

    38% of Albertans support separation

    https://www.thecountersignal.com/news/38-per-cent-alberta-support-separation

“Moreover, while half of all Canadians surveyed believe they’d be better off with a new premier running the show, a staggering 73 per cent of Albertans want to see Premier Jason Kenney replaced with someone more representative of their values and collective vision for the province.”

The issue here is that the Commies dislike Kenney more than the (small-c) conservatives. The way he’s conducted himself, it should be the other way around!
