Did it ever get resolved if workers fired over the mandate could file for and receive EI benefits?

Why would they bother to go back, especially when they’ll most probably find themselves back on the street by the end of March?
Are they really that much in dire need of a job to accept these terms, and risk getting infected themselves in the process?
I doubt it. If they want those people back, there will be no charge for the tests. Nor should there be.
Read the letter. Tests are to be paid for by the employee. Good luck with that.

Shouldn’t the vaxxed, double vaxxed, and booster vaxxed be tested before each shift as well? Since 81 % of all new cases is in the vaxxed, they are more likely to infect other people than than the vaxxed. In fact U.K. data indicates those with the booster are more than 4 times more likely to get infected than the unvaxxed!

If they are worried about the spread of the virus, then they should be testing EVERYBODY…..vaxxed or not. In fact, the vaxxed are almost certainly spreading the virus more simply because many of them believe they are somehow surrounded by a magic bubble of protection…..which they aren’t.
It is clear now that the “experts” in our public health system need to be replaced with REAL experts and not bureaucrats.
They ought to make the province organize and pay for the tests the we we in the private sector have been doing since the spring.
Sadly, there are now many AHS workers who, to maintain their livelihood, were extorted into receiving the jab against their conscience and better judgment. If more of them had maintained the courage of their convictions, this day would have come sooner and have better odds of being permanent.
There have been times in Canada’s history when the governing majority treated the minorities in ways that we now look back on with censure, such as residential schools and Japanese internment. There are also instances of medications being widely distributed to the public with full assurance from the medical and scientific “authorities,” only to be withdrawn as a health hazards, such as Thalidimide and Vioxx. This pandemic has provided the opportunity for leaders at all levels to make both sorts of mistakes simultaneously with vaccine passport segregation and mRNA vaccines.
Is it too soon to discuss accountability for the petty tyrants who thought this was legitimate in a free and democratic society?

For two years medical staff were heroes, then out came the jabba jabba and if they refused to participate in the government’s medical experiment they were treated like criminals and dismissed. I’d tell them to take a flying leap off a short pier. No way would I pay for testing if the vaccinated aren’t paying for the same thing, just another Kenny way to divide and harm society.
