Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I don’t believe inflation hits low income households especially hard. I KNOW inflation hits low income households especially hard. Paul ’let them eat cake’ Krugman will say anything to please his masters and keep his place on the cocktail and caviar circuit.
So, whaddya sayin’? Paul Krugman is a Cocktail Weenie?
A >+$1.30/gal. spike in gasoline price doesn’t impact Krugman in the least.
https://www.therichest.com/celebnetworth/celeb/authors/paul-krugman-net-worth/
However, let me say that IF this net worth is true … that Krugman is ONLY worth $2.5M at his age … that says all you need to know about an MIT PhD graduate in Economics. That they don’t know shit. Krugman should be worth at LEAST 10x that amount … if he knew what he was doing. But this is the TOOL who told everyone to SELL all their stocks when Trump became POTUS, because he would CRASH the economy.
Krugman’s estate-sized home should be worth far more than $2.5M alone. I suspect Krugman is controlling the Internet info … to make him appear only modestly wealthy. I suspect he is hiding MOST of his net worth … such as claiming his home is “owned by a Trust”. He is such a professional LIAR
if his home is owned by a trust, then there is probably a large amount of assets to go with it, as a tax avoidance scheme
If it doesn’t hurt the poorest, the who does it hurt. Nobody? That’s the “reality” of the in a bubble groupthink set, it doesn’t affect them.
Krugman’s argument other than “my guy is in the White House” appears to be a lowering tide beaches all boats
Have you checked out the price of yachts lately? Don’t tell me inflation isn’t hitting the rich hard.
Krugman is living proof leftists are capable of existing entirely thanks to the autonomous nervous system since clearly, he doesn’t have a brain.
Hey, he’s a Nobel Prize winner. Him smart.
Yep. He’s right up there with Obama, Al Gore, the EU, the IPCC, and Yasser Arafat. They smart too.
“Aside from priorities, is this even true? ”
—
HUH?
What does that even mean?
‘Aside from inflation of the prices of the necessities of life, is this even true?’
How is that a relevant argument or point in the inflation ‘debate’?
I take that to mean inflation does not have to be fought (does not need to be a priority). In other words, “why are we bothering to fight inflation if it doesn’t even affect the poor”.
Of course I wouldn’t let Paul Krugman feed my dogs.
Krugman worships the state. Any impediment to statist growth and sanctity must be attacked, that is his role. Addressing inflation means reigning in the state, fiscally and monetarily. That goes against his permanently boom-sided Keynesian bent. Any fealty to rational economic principles would be purely coincidental. He’s not a real economist, he only plays one for the institutional left.
What Krugman means is that it’s only fair that a cashier at Walmart has to pay the same for a pound of wagyu beef as Krugman does. The only time the left is concerned about disparate outcomes is when one of their pet minorities is getting sentenced for criminal activity.
Is there any reason to believe that common sense will ever hit Paul Krugman? When the price goes up on goods, those goods cost more. (I don’t have a cite for that, but I’m sure you can google it to prove that is a true fact.) If you have a limited supply of money to pay for the goods, it is difficult to pay the higher price for the goods. With a less limited supply of money, it is easier to pay the higher price for the goods. Have I missed anything?
It has nothing to do with common sense, Krugman is a tribal hack, a democrat pure and simple. Politics is the only thing in his world.
Perter:
“..Krugman is a tribal hack, a democrat pure and simple. Politics is the only thing in his world…”
IOW…?? Just another Leftist (_I_)Hole..one of the multitude.
Kurgan thought the invention of the internet was a fad. Basically a glorified fax machine.
From Wiki: Krugman describes himself as liberal, and has explained that he views the term “liberal” in the American context to mean “more or less what social democratic means in Europe”.
N American “liberal” nowadays means “democratic socialist” which is the same crap as in EU. And European “social democratic” nowadays means socialism with a touch of 1984.
He also believes in welfare state so Yeah, Krugman is a 100% imbecile.
I’m going the Jesse Kelly route. Screw socialist, progressive, left-leaning, far-left, liberal. They’re f***ing communists. They have an agenda and they are winning. Damn them all to hell.
Jim Cramer is an idiot:
https://youtu.be/VFxmXMQyrqU
Krugman doesn’t even understand grade-school arithmetic. A person who makes just barely enough money to buy the necessities, will be hit harder by inflation than a person who makes a hundred times enough money to buy the necessities. It’s so obvious that it’s painful to explain to Krugman.
(Maybe they didn’t teach arithmetic in hamster school.)
But maths is Wascist.
Educated beyond ones intelligence,is another way of describing our intellectual idiots.
They prefer”,Intellectual ,but idiot…”
I see no difference.
Tribal is the perfect way to describe academia.
And a tribe of miserable failures at that.
Truly they are expert, while wrong all the time..
Good Enough for Government?
And to think this idiot has a Nobel price in Economics. Yes Paul, you nimrod, poor are especially hard hit by inflation because they have little disposable income and they can seldom afford discretionary consumption. When housing, fuel and food prices go up disproportionally to the CPI, it is the poor that suffer because a grater proportion of their budget is devoted to housing, fuel and food. This is elementary, your undergraduate students know it.
Zerobamidiot has a Nobel, tells you everything you need to know about those. If I were awarded one, I would cash the cheque and send the plaque back.
Hussein Ogabe Al-Chicago does not have a Nobel in economics just the bogus peace prize like Arafart and Carter.
No such thing as a Nobel prize in economics. In the 60’s, after 20 years of bad press while they tried to find the rightful owners of the nazi gold they were holding, a Swiss bank came up with a PR scam, “The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel”, the Nobel family even sued. So krugman’s real title should be, “the nazi collaborators prize in economics”.
Yes I know. But that is just a technicality. My point is that most people who got this price in the past weren’t idiots or low rent political hacs.
maybe when the prize first started… lately it’s mostly being for the promotion of preferred economic theories
Mathematician John Nash won his Nobel in Economics.
Him and many others, the names immediately coming to mind are Paul Samuelson, Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman, Ronald Coase, Robert Fogel, Douglass North, Angus Deaton and many others. Regardless of what I think of their political views their contributions to science were immeasurable.
I’m gessing that Krugman will use as an example the fact that Social Security payments just increased by nearly 6%. Gosh! That means that our senior citizens who rely on that money are going to be so very much better-off.
Never mind the fact that our Medicare Part B premiums were increased at the same time by almost 13%, and for a lot of us, that means LESS money to deal with things like the rapidly increasing costs of basic necessities like food, rent, and energy.
We’re just so very happy that Joe was so very helpful and did so much to help! /sarc
Seriously, how can someone be that stupid? Low income families struggle on a good day, with out of control inflation they can’t afford food and rent at the same time.
The real question is.
When has Paul ever been right?
Some of his earlier stuff like Peddling Prosperity or Age of Diminished Expectations had quite a bit of insight, but that was before he went full progressive hack.
Why is everybody always worried about the faceless poor? Why isn’t anybody worried about how this inflation is hurting Bezos, Gates and Buffett? No poor person is going to lose 10 billion dollars in purchasing power.
People like Krugman are always the first in line to ask for a raise.
“Aside from priorities,…”
Too bad the “priorities”, food, heat, electricity, are the difference of life and death.
Looking forward, however, it does look like inflation is dropping. Copper dropping, oil dropping, USD getting stronger. Inflation rose more quickly, reached higher levels, and is now falling more quickly than expected. So many people with so much money chasing so little opportunity.
Krugman doesn’t believe in anyone who earns less than 60k a year.
Imagine if a conservative, say maybe Donald Trump, made that stupid and insensitive remark. Don’t tell me there’s no double standards in what the MSM reports.
For everything that Krugman says, the opposite is true.
Krugman is an idiot, but we need to realize being poor has no meaning to him. People with limited financial means have been struggling these past couple of years even more than before. With inflation, shrinkflation and the green idiocy, fans and solar crap, plus covid all happening at the same time, more and more low income people will go hungry, or lose their ability to pay for housing. When they get desperate, they will steal food to survive. Thus the overall quality of all our lives gets degraded just a bit more. There have been so many “bit mores” in the last few years, we’ll never get back what was once a decent style of living. The evil elites are doing this all deliberately, it’s what they want,. and what they planned.
As an aside, I often quip these days, that things are getting so bad, I’m gonna need to choose between booze and food, and with the way the world is falling apart, it will probably be booze.
You choose … wisely.
The stewpid is strong in this one.
Inflation Reaches 40-Year High
https://humanevents.com/2021/12/10/inflation-reaches-40-year-high/
What a jack@$$.
What will he do when his caviar supply is affected?
Were I able, I would start up my own reality show and air-lift people like Krugman and other lazy, snobbish @$$holes who look down on tradesmen and leave them in global dictatorships, oil fields or cattle ranches with GOPRO cameras strapped to their heads. Have them shovel all day, boil grass to eat, dodge bullets and other hard work. If they survive, they can get their own ways back and buy the day’s groceries on what the government left them.
Who needs to learn to code now?
