Vitamin D, K2 and Zinc, Oh My!

Having looked at a lot of Vitamin D stuff I gave this one a pass at first but I’m glad I came back to it. A very good interview with added nuance around how much to take, adding K2, and also the importance of zinc.

You would think it’d be easy to get enough sunshine in Israel but interestingly enough that’s not the case.

As a side note the ICU’s in my neck of the woods, Manitoba, are pretty much maxed out again and not a single peep out of any of the talking heads about trying something as simple as vitamin D. Just the same tired old recommendations we’ve heard from the start.

  1. You know, I had the high dose vitamin d but hadn’t started it. Idiot really. My doctor pointed out that we are not talking one a days here, you need high dose in available form, and you have to watch possible interactions.
But if you are gonna do it, do it now. You can get your vitamin d levels checked. Both my outdoorsy daughter and her mom were surprisingly low.

    1. You do not need massive doses of D to keep your level up. I have been taking D for decades through the winter. I used to stop when I could go to Florida, but when the whu who flu insanity started I just continued on with my usual winter vitamin routine and added a couple of more things to my multivitamins.

  2. Looking at today’s Saskatchewan COVID stats on new cases (40+ years of age)
    1 new case of unvaccinated.
    16 new cases of vaccinated.
    https://dashboard.saskatchewan.ca/health-wellness/covid-19/cases#cases-by-vaccine-status-tab
Odds are that 1 new case of unvaccinated is actually a vaccinated case where they received their 1st dose within 21 days.

Remember, the vast majority of deaths occur in the 40+ age group. Most deaths are in the 70+ age group.

Saskatchewan Health calls this “meeting their performance targets”. In their books, the people are safe using masks, vaccinations, social distancing, etc. Saskatchewan Health floaters are now complaining about being tired because they don’t understand how to do their jobs. They have the statistics/modeling to back up that point of view. The science is settled.

    What a joke…
Get your Ivermectin and protect yourself.

    1. Ontario’s stats:

Ontario reports more than 1,500 new COVID-19 cases; seven-day rolling average surpasses 1,300

      https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-more-than-1-500-new-covid-19-cases-seven-day-rolling-average-surpasses-1-300-1.5705057

Of the new cases confirmed today 601 are in those who are unvaccinated, 33 involve people who are partially immunized, 809 are in those with at least two doses, and 93 involve people with an unknown vaccination status.

Hey, BJ, nearly 200 more “vaxxed” than un-“vaxxed” tested positive, 35% more. That “vaccine” sure is effective, ain’t it? And, all this in the face of the fact that every omicron variant brought into Canada rode a “vaxxed” person in.

      1. Ontario reports more than 1,500 new COVID-19 cases

Remember, at least 50% of those cases are false positives.

        1. Daniel the PCR tests are as high as 92% false and a test is not a case or a diagnosis. A physically ill person is a case, and then most likely it is the flu.

    2. Amazing how the info is right there on the government websites that the government doesn’t seem to read.

  3. Hey, BJ, better go get that booster. Yer 2nd shot ain’t worth shit against omicron!

The study, which has yet to be peer-reviewed, discovered that some of the participants “failed to neutralize [the virus] at all.”

Uh-oh. That holiday in Washington state is looking more grim by the minute.

    1. That Troll, the Delusional Jerk, sure got under your skin,Dumb Biker.
Now you are responding before it turns up..
      That is considered success,trolling 101.
It is a troll, dropping hints about its social worthiness as a “conservative”,seeks to push yer buttons and repeats its talking points endlessly..
Can you remember one piece of factual info it has brought to this discussion?
Inflame and inane its calling card.

You are responding to a vacuum.

I agree with most of your scathing comments to it,but it is a troll and a pretty lame one at that.

On a lighter note,if there be anything more vapid than our troll, the Dread Covid Theatre grinds on.
keep wondering what our public health and government announcements on The dread Covid would read like,if we substituted “Life” in place of “Covid”.
Have been a bit to busy with other stuff to indulge myself.
Suspect it might be comic book stuff.
A bit like Justine’s “middle Class” when he really means “Parasitic Overload”.

      The vitamins work.
Or they provide such a great placebo effect that, well they work, for since my wife decided we were vitamin deficient, especially D,C and Zinc..we don’t get colds, flues nothing ,not for years.

      1. I think maybe they might be linked to personal health upkeep. If you are taking vitamins you carefully selected you are likely more health conscious overall.

  4. Here’s the whole package. At the very least, do the D3, K2, magnesium, zinc and C.

Yes, the D3. Take it. Take K2 mk7 as well. Take magnesium along with the D, and take the D with food. If you haven’t been taking 5,000IU per day for the last 18 months, better get going. Start strong: Take a 5000IU and a magnesium with breakfast, one with magnesium with lunch, one with magnesium and a K2 Mk7 at dinner every day for week. Then get on 5000IU twice a day for another week, with the Mg and K2. After that you can go to 1 5000IU D3 per day with Mg, and a K2 every other day.

Take 1000mg C in the morning, and another at night. At night you also take a 5mg Melatonin. Try not to take more than 1500mg of C at a time, or you will get the instant shits. Space them out a few hours instead. Same with the Magnesium; google up the right kinds to take that are less of a laxative than the others. I take magnesium L-threonate. The typical Calcium-Magnesium-Zinc pills are fine too. Just try not to overdo it with the zinc. Look up zinc – copper balance; this is why you want a good multivitamin with all the minerals and metals.

There is a pill at Amazon called Immunity-C Raw C + mushroom complex, made from a blend of 17 kinds of powdered mushrooms. Mushrooms have amazing health powers. Go on, google it up and learn. Then start taking the pills, and eat fresh mushrooms every day. Chaga mushrooms, reishi, lion’s mane, and turkey tail mushrooms are the most beneficial.

Regular Quercetin once per day, or quercetin phytosome ($$$) every other day.

First thing in the AM you do 6 drops of nascent iodine in a quarter cup of water. Make the coffee, then have breakfast. Make sure you eat 2 brazil nuts after breakfast for the selenium to balance the iodine. You can use Lugol’s solution instead of nascent iodine. Not quite as pure, but much less expensive.

Super B complex once a day. 2 curcumin pills per day. 1 or 2 NAC pills per day. Get yourself a bag of nigella sativa seeds and add a tsp to a cup of organic whole milk yogurt, every day. The 5% oil (“TQ Advanced”) is good too, but tastes awful, like diesel fuel, asphalt, and burnt oregeno. Tough it out. Follow your dose with a few tablespoons of honey. The NS pills avoid the taste but are weak.

Get some krill oil pills and take 1 per day. Antioxidants. Get some probiotics and take one per day too. Avoid as much Omega-6 as you can, no soy, no high fructose corn syrup, limit the carbs and white sugar.

A decent multivitamin, and a little extra vitamin A and vitamin E, every day. A bit of zinc; 50mg is enough.

Gargle with Original Listerine twice a day if you don’t go out, and also every time you come home if you do go out. Wash your hands real good, then wash your face. Make up a 1/2% povidone-iodine and saline nasal spray, and use it twice a day. You can use saline with baking soda as a nasal rinse too. Nowhere near as good as the povidone-iodine, but better than nothing. Nasal sprays with xylitol seem to work Ok too but cost more.

Drink green tea, extra strong no milk or sugar. Eat foods rich in antioxidants. Plenty of green veg. Eat a few tablespoons of raw honey every day, especially if you use the nigella sativa oil; you’ll want honey after taking that. No point in buying super expensive manuka honey.

You can find all this in most of the better protocols, FLCCC etc. I’ve been doing this since April 2020 and haven’t had any sickness at all, and no damn Covid either. It works. This is a BS virus that you can avoid by getting your immune system in shape. No need for the slab jabs either. But have some ivermectin on standby, just in case.

Yes it’s a pain taking so damn many pills every day. Beats being dead.

    1. I’ve been on the vitamin D bandwagon for close to 10 years, since stepping into a GP office in BC with a sick child and reading a printed note on the wall, in big bold capital letters, saying “The recommended dose of vitamin D is 2000 IU a day”. After some research, I learned more about the benefits of vitamin D and started supplementing; later, about 5 years ago, I went into the same clinic to consult about a knee injury, and the attending physician suggested 5000 IU vit D to improve calcium uptake, in addition to other measures. Since then, I have been on a steady 4000-to-5000 IU daily, with calcium coming from dietary sources only. I have not had any Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) for as long as I can remember, despite regular close contact with dozens of young adults (my students), and considering that I had the occasional sick child at home (of course, over this period of time one child is now legally an adult, and the other is getting there…). There are pretty solid pharmacological rationales for the use of zinc, vitamin D, and ionophores such as quercitine both as prophylactics and as EARLY treatments for upper respiratory viral infections.

  5. Theres more to vitamin D than first thought.
Meet Dr Stasha Gominak. She’s connects Vitamin D with gut bacteria and how both help to induce deeper sleep (with REM)
She’s a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders.

  6. ICUs are maxed out because …
-doctors are left wing government civil service schweinhunde. Possibly I am angry at their swineishness or repeat myself. A bit. Maybe.
-doctors are cowardly fools frightened of litigation and refer people to hospital and/or ICUs to avoid risk and criticism.
-doctors are making tons of money out of this bullshit knowing full well the risks are utterly tiny for 99.9% of us.

No, I do not respect the medical profession. It’s a fucking monopoly, what the fuck do you think a monopoly will do, be nice to you?

    1. Government controlled medicine is the problem, there are simply too few units and in reality every hospital room should be able to be modified for ICU use.

  7. It is a very interesting interview, but the best part is at the 38 minute mark where Dr. Campbell asks Dr. Cohan about his own recovery from Covid-19. At this point Cohan speaks about a 7 month recovery, but then diverges off and begins to talk about adverse effects of the Covid vaccinations. It’s a little difficult to follow because it is stream of consciousness, but he seems to be indicating that adverse vaccine reactions are presently a bigger problem in his practice than the Covid-19 infections. He actually states that he can “smell” a person experiencing one of these reactions when they step into his office (or he might be using a colloquialism – what does the peanut gallery think?).

    1. I agree, it was difficult to tell if he meant “smell” literally or just that he is now so familiar with how people present and what symptoms they complain about that he “immediately” knows when to ask specific questions to get confirmation. Either way, it speaks to the value of clinical experience for those actually interested in treating patients rather than simply sending them home to recover without intervention.

  8. It was both nice and kind to me, and to the others there. Your generalizations are crazy wild. Doctors make money on covid? How? Oh yeah, cancelled visits, cancelled surgeries, increased quarantine costs and the joy of donning PPE between every ward when they visit in patients . If you think they refer people to hospitals etc etc you don’t have the slightest idea of how it works, at all. You talk big but when you need the medical profession, you will call on them.
For the record, some of the nurses on my ward clearly had comorbidities, and some told me they doubted the vaccines ability to protect them. They treated my covid infected ass every day and none of them ( including the cleaning staff!) Treated me like a pariah.

  9. Covid will go down in history as an example of the total failure of the healthcare industry world wide. Failure to prepare, failure to react, failure to treat, actions that were actually counter-productive, and continuing to do the wrong things for months, and soon years, after there was plenty of evidence that what was being done was wrong. Healthcare has willingly been the handmaid to political and corporate tyranny, and it continues today.
