December 13, 2021: Reader Tips

The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap,

In the spirit of Clement Clarke Moore’s famous poem, tonight we learn how to make sugar plums.

Your tips of the past day are much appreciated!

    1. Speaking of that, my direct link and even google searches do not go to SDA to find recent posts. Can anyone help with tips?

      1. Have you tried different browsers and search engines? Brave on a Chromebook and a Windows7 system hasn’t experienced any problems.

      2. Clear you’re cache/cookies. Kate explained the problem in an earlier thread which I can’t find.

      1. Didn’t know that? No worries, there was a real football game on at the same time so I’m not surprised. Bears and Packers.
Maybe a player or two from the bombers will make it onto the practice squad for a NFL franchise.

        1. I would love to see one of you pricks that run down the cfl to suit up and get flattened by a middle linebacker you would shut your mouth pretty quickly even after the wires come out of your jaw..You wouldn’t know a real football game if it fell on you

          1. Chill, Francis. No one gives a fuck about overgrown toddlers chasing a ball in return for money. All pro sports are moronic.

        2. Haven’t watched a second of NFL football since they became virtue signalers for BLM. Same with NBA, WNBA. I haven’t missed any of them. The bitchy, whiny millionaires can all rot in virtue signalling hell.

          1. I don’t remember the last time I ever watched a complete CFL game on TV, the CFL being the only league I tolerated (not any more, though).

Nowadays, I have other sources of entertainment, some of which I can partake of for free–lots of good movies and vintage TV series on YouTube. (Right now I’m halfway through the original The Forsyte Saga and I’ve got two more mini-series in the queue.)

  1. For some reason, my life always came up with some unique challenges which is great for stories telling later in my life span but caused me to come up with ways to fix the problems that I was given or inherent. Be the first class through ‘Battle School’ in the Military to being given 2 inmates as the other 6 inmates were lockdown in their cell section on my first day because of a murder investigation which I inherited to clean up on my first day at the institutional services in one of a couple prison that I worked at.
Much later after a few years of carpentry training and experience, I was put on a sawmill with a rolling carriage that went down like a track on rails. It had to be in an area that equipment could put logs onto it while I could throw off the scrap and sawdust didn’t build up too badly.
Each evening the motor had to be covered from the possibility of rain and the Sun mercilessly gave me Sun burn and was torturous in the heat…
Fuck this shit, I need to do something that protects me and this pain in the ass motor that I had to cover.
Using some cut-off scraps and some tin, I build a roof over top that motor with this carriage as sliding with it.
It accomplished what I was looking for and gave me some shade which was the best that I needed to not roast my ass off.

“Laugh of the week! The authorities don’t know which way to skate! “He’s foolish and very bad, but taking safe vaccines won’t harm you..”

Auckland: He’s vaxxed to the max, and that might not be a good thing.

An unidentified man in New Zealand may have been vaccinated as many as 10 times in a single day.

Authorities believe the multi-vaccinated man may have been paid to get shots under the names of other individuals, who want the privileges extended to those protected against COVID-19, but don’t want to get the jabs.

New Zealand Ministry of Health vaccine program manager Astrid Koornneef said officials were “aware of the issue” and taking it “very seriously”.

Health officials are also working with law enforcement to investigate the situation. It’s unclear where exactly the individual got his multitude of shots, but Koornneef recommends that he visits a doctor again as soon as he can.

“If you know of someone who has had more vaccine doses than recommended they should seek clinical advice as soon as practicable,” Koornneef suggested.

    1. His REAL REASON for quitting is that he SUCKED and would be an embarrassment on how badly his ass was going to be beaten by the other competitors…Hmmm…reminds me of something…something to do with Toronto Maple Leafs and how badly they usually suck too.

    2. David..??

First time I’ve ever heard of that..??
Meh…No loss IMO….? I’m guessing half are LGBTQR and the other transgendered whatever. Cant see CBC saying squat about straight physically tough normal males or females now ..??

    1. From the comments on your link…

“As a vaccinated individual, I think this whole passport system is a big scam! If I can still get covid and spread it just as easily as an unvaccinated, what’s the sense of the passport?? Stop dividing our country! I will now be voting for the only party that cares about Canadians rights, the PPC party!!”

Heartening to see so few Liberal sheep bleating at this poll. Thanks, Winston.

      1. Same here. Oh, well, if the Baked Potato’s Covid policy truly is based on opinion polls then maybe…

Glenn Greenwald… “I fucking hate Democrats, like, they are the ultimate authoritarians… they are everything they accuse Donald Trump of being.”

Personally, I cannot believe that the Democrats and YouTube continue to allow Jimmy Dore’s channel to exist. He seems in no way scared of going after the tyrannical Democrats and their fanatical fake-news allies and I certainly appreciate him doing what 90% of Republicans are too frigging cowardly to do.

    Great work, Jimmy!

  4. Only in the National Post/Financial Post among Canada’s mainstream media would you find a series of articles praising capitalism. It is cheekingly entitled The Capitalist Manifesto.

“Capitalism has created more prosperity and progress for more people than any system in human history. On the 30th anniversary of the official end of the Soviet Union, join the National Post and Financial Post in a series saluting the unfashionable yet awesome power of the free-market system.”

  5. From the CBC.
    Climate Change and you.
“We’d like to know more about the climate change issues that matter the most to you. Fill out the form below and leave us any questions you have about the changes in our climate in Alberta and Saskatchewan.”
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/why-methane-continues-to-be-the-cattle-industry-s-biggest-climate-change-challenge-1.6278092?cmp=rss
You can find it at the bottom of the article “Why methane continues to be the cattle industry’s biggest climate change challenge”.
    Send them an opinion.

    1. First of all, MotherCorpse? On principle alone, nope.

Second, even if I was inclined to give the bastards a click and point out the folly, where do you s’pose all the dissenting opinions, facts, articles, authors, etc., are going to end up? Yep, flushed down the bit bin.

Let them freeze in the dark when the upcoming mini ice age hits.

      1. Whatever man. If the CBC being prevented from getting a “click” is more important to you than giving them a piece of your mind.
Then that’s your prerogative. Down the dustbin? Definitely. But not until some left wing A-hole has to read it first.

    2. What’s interesting about this is they clearly do not know what aspects of climate change might be of concern– but they have to write about it — so they put out this feeler. People do not control the climate. It’s all just media hype, and in the absence of any big storms to talk about, they have run out of things to say.

    3. My response
‘Climate fraud where scammers make fraudulent claims to raise money from the sheeple’ name David Suzuki

Lets make Climate fraud the #1 Climate issue!

    1. I am puzzled by the enthusiasm with which some people run out to get their booster. I have encountered two people who indicated they were excited to be getting the booster. Talk about losing touch.

  6. More symptoms:

We are in an “a kind of hybrid corporate-administrative oligarchy” (which I call an expertocracy). “Our ruling class is rich and rapacious—rich because rapacious, and eager to be richer still by taking what little you have left.” All in authority, from the lowest adjunct professor to Senators, tout and cheer the oligarchy.

People believe themselves gods, and can change sex on a whim. Marriage is also a whim. Whims are magic. “The regime promotes every imaginable historic form of degeneracy—and then invents new ones undreamt of by Caligula, the Borgias, or Catherine the Great.” This degeneracy is forced on the populace: they are coerced into saying what’s good is bad, and what’s bad is good.

We have a Cult of Ugliness. “[N]ot just the buildings, but the art, the literature, the music, almost everything.” This, as Anton hesitates to say, but I am happy to shout, “extends to people.” The fat and hideous are called healthy and beautiful—and you must agree.

The purpose of education is to lie, to indoctrinate, to spread hate. The promotion of ability is called racist, sexist, and so on.

I apologize for the CBC link, but this shat drives me bonkers!

  8. Speaking truth to power.

A high profile economist states that serious action by the monetary authorities in the U.S. is required to bring down inflation:

“Allianz SE’s Mohamed El-Erian said the Federal Reserve needs to move fast to regain control of the inflation narrative, denouncing Chairman Jerome Powell’s prior assurance that price increases are short-term.

“The characterization of inflation as transitory — it’s probably the worst inflation call in the history of the Federal Reserve,” El-Erian said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday.”

    1. The last movie by Spielberg that I liked was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. That was released more than 20 years ago.

  9. So when Stalin starved the Kulaks was that a Crime Against Humanity?
When Hitler stopped the shops from selling food to the Jews was that a crime against Humanity?
I see this kind of Law as very Illegal and should be taken as a Direct Death Threat by the State against the People.
    A Declaration of War.
This is spreading, this new law/regulation began in Austria, spread to Greece, then New Brunswick Canada and now Australia.
So what are your thoughts if it spreads to America. I can see California trying this maybe.
