4. Pee Review.
   I always thought that peer review would be as diligent as it claims to be if you simply threw all the research grant proposals on a lawn and let loose some border collies.
   The proposals that were the most soaked with piss would get the grant.
   Excuse my bluntness, but I have witnessed hundreds of pee review sessions.

   crooked peers are helping make other crooked people very very rich

   being a crooked peer is a very lucrative thing

   Nota; of course not all scientists, not all peers are crooked, and of course not all science is baloney.
