“Bad Trip”

Doesn’t really seem to be an accurate description here.

Evening Standard- ‘Bad weed trip’ killer cleared of murder after admitting manslaughter

Jake Notman inflicted more than 30 stab wounds on 25-year-old university student Lauren Bloomer after eating a cannabis brownie at their home in Bingley Avenue, Tamworth Staffordshire in the early hours of Friday November 20 last year.

The 27-year-old car factory worker denied murdering Miss Bloomer, claiming he did not form the necessary intent due to his mental state.

  1. I guess I can drive drunk now and claim that I couldn’t form the intent to drive drunk because I was drunk.

    1. I agree, Stan.

He was sentenced to 8 years and 8 months for manslaughter!!!!!
While not legal in the UK for recreational use it is legal in Canada – God help us.
You can consume a perfectly legal substance in Canada, go on to have a similar psychotic
episode and use the same defense?

      1. He was sentenced to 8 years and 8 months for manslaughter!!!!!

Which means he’ll be out in about 4 1/2 years.

    2. Murder is homicide with malice aforethought. If you’re shit-faced drunk apparently you can’t have malice.

    3. I heard of a case in Britain more than 40 years ago in which someone got off a drunk driving charge due to “extenuating” circumstances. You see, when charged the person was a man in the process of, shall we say, “crossing the floor” (yup, a member of the I, Napoleon brigade), and the resulting “stress” and “issues” resulted in too much booze being consumed. (No mention about the “stress” and “issues” being due to having a few screws loose.)

However, but the trial took place after the “renovations” were finished and that, somehow, was enough for acquittal.

You can’t make this stuff up if you tried.

    4. sadly, very very true. just lOOk at the history in Ontari-owe the number of times a drunk driving fatality resulted in a proverbial ‘slap on the wrist’:

out early for good behaviour, plus lotsa $$$$$$$$ flying around.
and dead bodies flying around in the accident. FOUR dead and he’s out in 6. 1 death = 1 1/2 yrs.

the lesson dear liberal infested Canaduh, ya wanna OFF someone, practice driving drunk. use those disposable alcohol meters to figure out how much gets you over the limit, then when youre all set, stalk the target and RUN THEM OVER.

      then, ‘see above’

  2. Uh oh … there goes the “Weed makes you mellow” narrative. No, this is NOT the Weed of our youth. Weed today is a very dangerous psychotropic GMO Weed.

Oh! And the “Twinkie defense” comes after the “Weed defense” … for obvious reasons …

  3. It’s weed. Has the prosecutor never smoked weed?? If you killed someone on weed, you really wanted to kill her.

    1. Criminals will reach for anything that might help to keep them outta jail, and one of their favorites is “I wasn’t responsible due to……………..”, whatever substance or issue from their past they can dredge up and suck the prosecution into buying wholesale. Too bad the perp is white and living in Britain, as a Residential School survivor trauma is an unlikely defence this time.
I very much doubt marijuana had anything to do with it unless he was stoned outta his mind for weeks on end, then he might have had a psychotic episode.

This sounds more like a criminal looking for an easy way out. In Canada he’d be eligible for parole after serving roughly 2 years of his sentence, in Britain, who knows, their justice system is even more fucked up than ours.

  4. It probably depends on the colour of the “weed”, it’s akin to a Black Rifle or a RED SUV. The world renowned liberal scientist Justin Trudeau claims it’s colour that determines murder weapons!

    Trust the Science

      1. Yeeeees, exactly!

Of course add some skin tone and you have and you have a Liberal Trifecta of innocence. 1+1=3

    1. Weed Schmeed, last time I ate a pot brownie, all I wanted to do was eat some chocolate and play with puppies.
This guy was evil and insane and probably voted for Joe and Hoe.

  5. For anyone not inclined to follow the link, the killer wasn’t “cleared” of murder, he was never tried for it. The “experts” decided beforehand. Following their logic (which I don’t agree with), I can’t see why they charged him with anything, except maybe cannabis possession. You’re either responsible for your actions or you’re not.

  6. Whatever you think of weed, and I have heard some doozies from all sides about both it’s pros and cons, I have never heard anyone ever claim that it contained the ability to turn a murderous, evil scumbag into a non-murderous, evil scumbag.

The “under the influence ” excuse is as old as law, itself.

  7. At Least this scumbag got some punishment for killing his girlfriend.

If you get high enough in France, you can be an Islamic Radical and beat an Old Jewish Lady to death and not even go to trial.

The cops won’t even try to stop you either.

    1. Why is it relevant that she was Jewish? Killing an elderly woman of any race is a pretty heinous act. Are you suggesting that Jew lives matter (more than any others)?

  8. Well, Canada takes a back seat to no one as lunatic verdicts go. Remember the “sleep driving” verdict?

Or, how about the rape that wasn’t because … wait for it… although the accused’s consumption of alcohol rendered him incapable of forming the requisite intent, the degree of impairment was not sufficient to prevent him from committing the act.

    1. Besides, if one can’t know right from wrong when stoned they should not be getting stoned.

    2. Alcohol tends to make you aggressive and stupid.
Pot tends to make you passive and a little bit stupid.
      That’s a fact Jack.

  9. We’re living in a world where not getting injected with the Wuhan Flu vaccine is is deemed socially irresponsible and selfish, but getting intentionally f***ed up on dope and not being responsible for your action is acceptable.

  10. One innocent person died as a result of multiple knife wounds inflicted by another person. Open and shut.

How can it possibly make any difference to us who demand justice, what might have influenced the killer? Good grief!
