  1. COP
Conference of Parties. And you bet they had lots of elite parties.
There may now be a shortage of good scotch.

  2. The totally delusional ruling class along with the armies of rent seekers they have created with gross fiscal incontinence – need to be given a simple message from the governed: Until we see “construction” started on an approved program to double our current electrical grid capacity with modern nuclear power, we don’t want to even talk about capping or reducing production of fossil fuels, let alone convert to E-vehicles. The alternatives are all variants of a literal death-march to pre-industrial filth and squalor (fast-tracked road to serfdom).

  3. Tuvalu: Grow big or go under. So the Maldives have built a new airport. Isn’t that in conflict with CO2 emissions ?

  4. “Our government leaders are sufficiently intelligent to know that drastic reductions of carbon emissions are not, in fact, desirable, ”
    Conrad Black

    No, they are not.

    1. Just to clarify, I assume the “not” refers to the intelligence, rather than the reductions…

  5. I shut liberals/NDP down with saying that until ALL film, television and rock concerts are shut down because of the use of too much electricity and too much fossil fuels (especially “action” movies and the fiery destruction of cars, planes, speed boats), then there is NO problem. And please, do not bother me!

  6. Admittedly I had to look up Tuvala. I’m not about to get my undershorts in a twist over a 10 square miles of barely above sea level dead coral.
It has an International Airport as well…I’ll assume it runs lengthwise.
A member of the IMF since 2010…of course it is.

    1. I was disappointed Conrad Black did not give sufficient recognition to two of the leading lights in the Eco crusade ( and native sons of Canada). In fact I expected gilded statues to be presented to the cult worshippers. I am of course referring to the lovely Maurice Strong of the IPCC infamy and some other guy from BC whose daughter did a “Greta” at the M. Strong organised Rio Conference so long ago. All down the memory hole just like the Club of Rome prognostications also from long ago. Fifty three years later and still the end is nigh, only perhaps more so we are told.

  7. Tuvalu is an atoll, which is an island made of of coral stone, the skeletons of dead corals. Coral grows under the sea. Hence, if there is coral stone there, it is because that place spent a long time underwater. The fact that Tovalu is now an island is because sea levels are currently lower than in the past, because much water is on land as icecaps over Antarctica and Greenland.

Atolls are proof that climate changes by itself; the IPCC calls it Natural Climate Variability. Atolls are also proof that the Earth was warmer in the past, without ice on land. Nothing bad happened, quite the opposite.
