The Perfect Gift for your Virtue Signaling friends

I’m in San Francisco for a week and the CMQ here is clearly 70% or more. Today I was running along the Embarcadero and logically had my mask around my neck, not over my face. I distanced myself from everyone but several mask-wearing NPCs still glared at me with an apparent anger in their eyes. When I got back, I did some research and found the perfect gifts for them:

  1. There are plenty of retards in my neck of the woods (Toronto, Don Valley East), where single drivers wear masks, walkers wear masks and step onto the street to avoid me. Some have their kids wearing masks (criminal abuse in my mind), but don’t wear themselves.

We are so totally screwed, though I think there are signs of pushback.

    1. Mask AND shield seen on the street here in Halton Region and I am not seeing any signs of pushback. I still see people walking on the street (with mask on) who will not share the sidewalk with a passerby. At the local nursery, you have to wear a mask, even outside. Not sure how much more stupid I can take.

    2. Sounds like Victoria, plenty of farleft, freaked out KARENs and Kens here as well.

Masked in a vehicle by themselves. Totally deranged leftists.

    3. Shortly after I got to Fort St. John, I went to buy groceries. The weather was pleasant, the sun was shining, and there had to be someone on a bicycle wearing a mask.

BonBon would, no doubt, be ecstatic.

      B. C.: the province where logic goes to die.

  2. My wife and I have been doing that protest thing right from the beginning and everyone loves our masks which is from the Netflix series ‘Money Heist’.
It’s crooks robbing the Spanish Mint by creating their own cash. A billion EURO…
Everyone has the same masks and the cops can’t make out the crooks from the hostages.
I have never seen anyone else around with the same at all.
    One of my China purchases.
And my protest in plain site.

  3. I’ve written, “This mask doesn’t work,” on my mask.
Lot’s of stares. I can’t tell if anyone is smiling. They’re all wearing masks.
Currently, I take the mask off once I’m done conducting business in whatever place requires them. No one has confronted me or asked me to leave yet, but I’m already on my way out at that point. It’s my little protest for the time being.

    1. I live in the part of Australia where while we are not like the Eastern states and the endless dick measuring contests between Dan and Gladys, we definitely have a ‘I hope the crocodile eats us last’ attitude to the problem.
I do not own a mask.
I have not owned a mask.
I was given a mask a few months ago when the most recent panic kicked in, cause having spent months working maskless inside the office the risk factor had suddenly jumped to the level where switching to masks was going to make ALL the difference. Actually two mask. The cheaper one I blew my nose on and then, since it was dirty, threw it out.
(how often do these people change their masks? Or wash their non disposable ones? Do they wear their underware for the same extended periods? Actually please don’t answer that last question. Sometimes I need a bit of mystery in my life)
The second mask I was issued I honestly broke the string on while fiddling with it. Honestly was NOT destruction testing it. It just broke!
So I used it to wipe down my desk and threw that one in the bin too.

Now I would like to claim I am a badarse rebel, but truth is I pick my targets. However I do not own a mask and do walk into shops and businesses without one and in the roughly 10 weeks since my State went all ‘Expert Advice’ I have been challenged twice. Both times were by people who knew me. First time was in a regular shop where one of the regular staff raised the question. Second was inside a smallish local shopping mall by a friend who was coming out of the gym. Semi-irony, since he had a mask on I couldn’t actually understand his question! 😛

In all other places I have not been challenged. We seem to get about 50% on the streets and maybe 95% inside shops. I do see a lot of free noses. In some cases the mask has ‘slipped’ down but in many other people I see masks so poorly fitted I get clear views of the person’s nostrils when they tilt forward. Assumingly I see groups walking – say hubby and wife plus friend – where you get a few with and a few without. Personally since we are coming out of our winter (it gets cold and wet but doesn’t snow here. Cold, wet and windy can still be very uncomfortable) I feel a lot of people have gotten used to the fact that the mask helps keep their face warm.

The other observation is that most people seem to casually ignore the Q code ‘Covid Tracking’ things we are meant to do each time we enter a new establishment. We are MEANT to use the check in code and then our private information will be kept for 2 weeks only (and totally won’t be used for anything else… like be given to the police to allow them to track down a pistol one of their own ‘lost’ in a small town hotel… that totally wouldn’t happen) and if you can’t use your phone – say cause you ACCIDENTLLY left it on charge in your car – you are MEANT to manually sign in with name, date, email and phone.
My hand writing is VERY NEAT. Honest!
I would say about 1/3 to 1/2 bother. I have never used the phone thing and only sign in manually if it is somewhere I probably don’t want to be asked to leave. The Government has surges where it pushes the sign in and waves the threat of fines about, and everyone starts checking if you have signed in before they serve you, but after a while no one questions you.

(the sign in process is largely pointless anyway. It is reactive. Assuming the Fauci Flu works the way our Experts tell us, we may have it without knowing but it takes 14 days to develop but we may… or may not be a vector in this period… but we have it… honest… even if you feel fine… Look I have no idea anymore. So in practice you don’t get a ‘cluster’ until someone feels a bit off and goes to a Doctor. But you don’t get symptoms straight away so you may have had the Not-Wuhan for 2 weeks or more. But tracking data is kept for 14 days tops… and by the time they have processes the ‘cluster’ and worked out who needs to be contacted for testing they could have been out and about and nominally a vector for days anyway. Tis a farce.)

Still, in summary, keep up the good work, Cly. Stay healthy and if you do get to the cough and splutter stage be adult about things, but push back on the pointless ‘we are doing something’ stuff at every chance.

  4. Please allow me to coin a new term.
    “E-Mask-Culated”
Definition: have at the definition, you lovely SDA people.

  5. My husband and I were golfing at a small local practice area w/ 3 challenging holes. Very good exercise as it is in hilly terrain and only walkable ……anyway as we were getting ready to go to the first tee ,4 cars pulled into the parking lot and only one person per car ….all masked!
We shook our heads and went on our way came around for a second round and headed down the par 5 as we approached the green ,there they were just getting on the green and guess what ? Yep all were masked ! out in the beautiful God given fresh air ! There is no end of stupid !

  6. Here in Burlington the sight of people walking or driving alone fully masked is actually quite common . I like others remove that rag the minute I leave a business . The mask behaviour sheds light on how we got to this place .

  7. I don’t play the social distancing game. If these retards think masks work then no harm. I’m not catering to lunatics.

    1. Oh. “Social Distance”. Like it is a magic distance calculated to keep you safe because a virus particle has a hard finite range after which it dies.

      1.5m clearance between people? SAFE
      1.499m? YOU ARE KILLING GRANDMA!!!

The other utter stupid with this is – at least in my part of the world – we have a 1.5m ‘social distance’ guideline (or one adult kangaroo… yes, this is/was a real thing), but we also have density limits for indoor spaces.

These indoor limits are stuff like 1 person per 4 square m (when they are still under ‘Expert’ advice) to 1 person per 2 square metres or 2 per 3 when they start to feel like throwing us plebs a bone.

Problem is whoever put these things on official letter head does NOT understand maths or how to display dimensions.
Short summary is that density per square metre is a factor if centre to centre of people, while the ‘Social Distance’ is space between (elbow to elbow). So to convert them into the same common method if you are inside an area with a 1 per 2sq metre restriction you are expected by root 2m apart centre to centre, OR about 0.8m elbow to elbow.

      0.8m

      Yet ‘Social Distancing’ is 1.5m

So our government (yours may vary) clearly state that being in a room with 0.8m elbow to elbow is fine under their restrictions, yet still quotes 1.5m Social Distance in the same press release.

Column A does NOT equal Column B.

Well done our Expert Leaders. Well Done.

      1. Muddy, I guess you’ll soon need quantum computing to figure it all out. If a biz wants you to wear a mask, then that is their right, and it’s my right to choose if I wish to enter that biz. Of course, there are times we must enter, so I then wear my mask. I was a good boy way back when it all began with masking, and wore mine correctly. However, these days, I never bother to put it above my nose, and wear it sloppily. Not once have I been challenged or asked to fix/adjust my mask. On occasion, I genuinely forget to put it on, and do get a look now and again, but again no direct challenge or complaint. There are about forty percent these days that have a sloppy applied mask, and about fifty percent that are wearing them, sloppy or not, while alone, jogging, biking etc. As to the rest of all this idiocy, I, at least in my small west coastal town in BC, don’t really give a crap, and I will NOT get the goo, short of armed thugs forcing me. If that ever happens, they better be wearing their masks so I can’t recognize them, cuz if I do, I’ll find em later, when they aren’t with the armed crew, and I will repay in kind.

It does seem to us here in north America, that Oz and NZ, have gone insane with this idiocy, and personally, I wonder how you guys don’t already have a civil war. Anyway, thanks for your post, it was an interesting read, good luck down there, you’ll need it.

  8. The other day I was raking the gras on my front lawn raking which fronts on a fairly well trafficked tourist route in a rural coastal area. It was a lovely warm and sunny summer day and I was enjoying the clear clean sea air when along came a beautiful black Mustang convertible with the top down, driver and passenger both wearing masks. All I could do was point and laugh as they went by. I get that people have been terrorized for a year and a half but seriously, by what mechanism do people like that think they’re going to get infected?!

  9. I delivery truck parts in Mississauga and no one has taken off their masks while outside since vaccinations have become ommonplace. What’s particularly interesting is that most of the employees working in the repair and collision shops I deliver to don’t wear masks.

    1. I brought some scrap metal to a recycling yard this morning. When I walked through the door to the office (which had a sign on the outside with the instruction that one had to wear a “medical” mask), I commented that I supposed that I was required to wear a face diaper.

The receptionist, face-diapered herself, gave me a dirty look. I refuse to wear one, using an industrial dust mask instead.

  10. My favorite phrase: “If it is to be, it is up to me”.

I never enter a business with a mask. Period. If I am asked to mask, I say sure, and politely put my plague mask on. The plague mask from Amazon (https://tinyurl.com/y2rer5uv) for $20 is great. I added “Bonnie says, wear a mask” to mine.
I’m on V.I and I would say I only am asked maybe 3 times in 10. The other seven, I’m just my smiling self. Why isn’t every conscious (sp,) objector going to a party shop and buying a cheap, plastic mask representing their favorite character – from Spider Man to Porky Pig, and simply wearing it when requested. If anyone is offended by your own smiling face, saying something like “Sure, I’ll play the game” – just so they know they’re being mocked.

If we keep bending to their insane rules, we deserve our servitude. This is how you beat the petty tyrants: dismiss them and mock them by meeting their nonsense with an obviously ludicrous alternative they can’t refuse. On another note, I was recently in Best Buy – no one said a word as I did my shopping. As I lined up at the till, a couple behind me, in their early thirties and with a small child in a stroller, saw me and immediately stripped off their masks too. They were from Quebec. We had a good conversation and it was simply seeing my face that gave them the “permission” they needed to go maskless themselves. Most revolutions begin this way. The disaffected are looking for confirmation that they’re not alone – that others feel as they feel.

I’m now seeing families and friends having severe, heated and accusatory arguments. I’ve had several myself, in which normally intelligent people are so driven by fear that you can’t introduce numbers or in any way try to illustrate why the pandemic has been over-hyped, over-blown and over regulated. For example, I tried to point out that BC has about 38,000 deaths (all causes) annually. In nearly 18 months we’ve had 1800 deaths with some association to covid and primarily of the elderly and infirm. That’s an incremental death rate from Covid of 0.0333%. Much less actually if you factor in that many/most of the 1800 would have been part of the pool of 38,000 due to their own natural age and health factors. It does not matter: they still believe you’re a horrible person who doesn’t care and are selfishly prepared to kill others.

It doesn’t matter that they’re double vaxxed and that others are likely double vaxxed, plus both wearing masks, plus the plexiglass, plus the distancing, plus the brief encounters. Because the vaccines which they insist must be imposed on others are not 100% effective, all of these protective measures must remain in place. Meanwhile, if you point out all of the societal costs attached to these continuing mitigation measures, they’ll avow that while it’s awful, it’s also necessary.

Here’s a fly in the ointment. Bonnie Henry rules that all health care workers MUST be fully vaccinated, or potentially lose their jobs. B.C. Nurses Union and BCGEU are currently saying NO. All my fraidy friends think other protestors are dumb rubes, but what can they say about this refusal by our two largest health care unions?

    It’s a bonkers world.
