At 5:30pm PDT (8:30pm EDT) the Natomas Unified School District in northwestern Sacramento, California is going to be live streaming a public school board meeting. Top on the agenda are how they were perfectly fine with a Totalitarian Communist indoctrinating children until he was found out. On the hope that the live feed doesn’t crash, there will likely be some spicy fireworks!

The parents (and grandparents) are PISSED. They are really coming down on the board and school administrators for turning a blind eye to this teacher. A grandfather, retired corrections officer, said, “Where does the buck stop? You’re not going to get a second chance. You better get it right.”

Someone has to watch the school principals, superintendents, and the teachers. This is what happens when the board doesn’t do their jobs well. Imagine how bad it would be if the State was doing all the 100-5,000 individual school boards’ oversight instead of local, known citizens? Things would be 10X worse.
A family member was a achool board member in a small rural city district for several election cycles. She showed up for all the ceremonies, concerts, plays, and a lot of the sports events. But I do not think she ever actually sat in a single class. Do you think this crud would have happened if the principals, school board members, and the superintendent sat in on classes regularly?
I think this COVID At Home Schooling opened a lot of parents eyes. Maybe the answer is to video every school room every day?

I taught History for 35 years, in both public and private schools- over the course of my career I found the vast majority of teachers to be left wing- History (or Social Studies) is the worst, but English and even Science Departments are pretty bad. When I started teaching there still a lot of New Deal type liberals- we could make common ground, and as quaint as this sounds, agree that we wanted what was best for the country, we merely disagreed on the route to get there. These guys, and it was mostly guys, loved their country. And, I would add, they rarely proselytized- I didn’t either, for that matter- I’d tell the kids in my class that if they paid attention they’d be able to figure out what I believed about the world, but I wasn’t going to preach to them. If I gave an opinion, which was rare, It was always advertised as such. That’s all gone now, most liberal teachers are not shy about promoting their opinions. and, I guarantee that there are dozens ( probably more) of teachers in that CA district with the same outlook as beardo. I imagine it’s even worse up there in the Great White North.

Parents, get off your asses and start getting involved in the classroom, watch what’s going on, volunteer, stop turning a blind eye to it. We pulled our kids out of public schools and paid for private after we saw what was being taught. The money was well spent, they are doing great unlike many of their friends.
Nothing new here. Thirty years ago my company hired graduates of the local high schools who couldn’t do column addition. Or spell simple one syllable words.
